today my friend lost $24 because someone was able to access her paypal account. she said that her password and emails were exactly the same as what she is using to her ptc, ptp and everything.
so i advice that your paypal password must be unique and different from your ptc or ptp sites. your email password must also be different to avoid this like this to happen.
my paypal account was also hacked once but no withdrawal was made because i noticed it immediately and reported it to paypal admin.

Recently, most of the Paypal account holders received an email asking the members to verify the account details and they given some link to follow for the verification. Your friend might have received such mail and followed that link .There we will asked to enter our password .This is the thing the hackers want. Take care of such mails.Never follow such links, even for your bank account and type the url of the bank or site address and then we need to enter into our account to prevent our passwords being hacked.

Hi,can I clarify something? Because I just recently created a paypal account for my husband and paypal did send an email to verify the account and it requested for the password. You are not referring to that email right? So does that mean that I will only get one verification email and that is when I open an account but no more? Or did I already give information to hackers?

You will not be asked any thing about password from PayPal or any other bank at any time. Please check your account and change your password (which is entirely different from the existing one and with combination of Upper/lower case, numbers, special characters)immediately.

i am so sorry to hear about what is happening to your friend's paypal account... as for me, i never experienced it before as i never tell anybody about my username and i make the password very unique as well... when it comes to money, i am very cautious as there are many bad people out there who will do anything just to steal your money... take care and have a nice day...

don't respond to any mails you recive that ask you to enter passwords either by mail or on sites which are not paypal.com, these are common methods hackers use and sad to see your friend lose his hard earned money
i think paypal is not safe as it used to be, its being target by lots of hackers and scammers, so i use other sources of payment processes and don't depend entirely on paypal

That is a lesson learned. It is indeed really important that your password in paypal is different from what you are using on other online site. This is for security purposes since in paypal it is money that in stake.

So sorry to hear that.
Fortunately the loss is only $24. Hopefully the hacker never copy her credit card details.
Maybe you should ask her to inform the bank and cancel her credit card. It's too risky to continue using the same credit card. If the hacker is really wicked, he or she might use the credit card to make online purchase without the knowledge of your friends.

I'm very sorry for your friend. I hope she recovers her money if that is possible. I also hope that it doesn't happen to me and to anyone else here and everywhere. It is really disappointing when a few bad apples decide to do something as bad as this. I hope that these hackers stop this evil practice, it can only lead to bad consequences for them if they continue to do so.

That's a very big problem then. That's why it pays to be very skeptical bout everything. I have different passwords each time and am hoping not to be a victim. But anyway I don't keep money in my account so nothing to be scared about. Happy mylotting!
