I love these little plants. You have to try really hard to kill them. Years ago My grandmother gave me some small chicks just with a 3 inch root. For some reason the dog kept pulling it up and I would find it in odd places. I finally found a spot to put it where the dog couldn't get to it. I would have thought it would dry up and not grow as often as the dog pulled it up and as dry as it would get but it finally had a chance to grow and it did and was a very nice plant.

I have had them on the back porch in just moderate sun for about a week now & they seem like they like it there ok...Mom said they will bloom a pretty red flower when they mature...I haven't had good luck with cactus like plants..I either give them too much sun or too much water...Hopefully these will survive my lack of a green thumb! lol

If they can survive my dog pulling them out of the ground for several weeks ten they can survive any thing.

I've never lived in Texas but feel certain that they will grow there. I've grown them in Delaware, Maryland, Florida and have seen them in Mexico. They are a pretty resilient plant and a lot of fun to grow, easy care, without a lot of fuss.

Thanks, I was worried I'd kill them down here.
