Why don't we work to stop global warming?

I had read in newspapers some days ago that the ice in the arctic will vanish in 30 years instead of earlier estimated 50 years. Each day a news item is seen dealing with global warming but why are we ignoring it? Why are we not revolting against it? don't we want to leave some trace of the bountifulness of this planet for our next generation.
share your views on how can we minimize the impacts of global warming.

Wait long enough and they'll say it's going to happen in ten years, then five, then four, or we can get really scared and believe that guy who about ten years ago was saying that the polar caps would collapse and drown half the world within the next couple of years unless we made serious changes immediately. I'm not falling for it. Not to mention this would not be the first time in history that this has happened. Scientists have found fossilized vegetation under the caps as well as animals such as the wooly mammoth that were froze with food in their system that had not yet digested. Of course that means that things froze very quickly. If the caps melt then someplace else will freeze. This is my take on global warming, scientists found a little something they could run with, then years later Al Gore writes a book, now everyone is freaking out. Al Gore has money, scientists have proven that people will believe anything you tell them, and they all go home and laugh themselves to sleep.

One fact that I'm aware of is that a small group of scientists did a study and found that the average daily temperatures were higher (on a global scale) than they are today. The scientists reported the story and it was buried, kind of like when a few scientists in the past said the earth was round instead of flat! How loony those guys were huh?

I don't want to get into a discussion weather scientists are true or not. But it is sure that by 2050 the earth will be not quite like it is today. with the average temperature increasing day by day, you can not ignore this fact.
though i agree you that scientists may fool someone but you can't simply allow to slip the issue of global warming from your hands. can't you see the effects of global warming have started to effect us. If not then probably you should watch the movie "day after tomorrow" and make yourself a bit aware of the facts.

I'm pretty new here, but I had to comment on this anyway...
I, myself think we should all do our part to be kinder to the earth. Less chemicals, poisons and just plain garbage. BUT Al Gore's whole "thing" is the basis for how they are going to scam us out of a bunch more money in the form of carbon taxes. They have over 100 new taxes ready to stick us with, all under the cover of global warming. I don't buy it. And I have heard historians that swear that the earth has been here before, as far as the temp changes. They are caused from sun spot activity, and the temps rise and fall according to the activity. It is all as natural as can be. When a volcano erupts it puts out more gases than all the cows in the world could even think about. But they are going to start taxing farmers for the gas that cows and other livestock pass. How crazy is that???

ya it's quite true that in the shadow of global warming many nations are using it as a way to charge money from people and what they do to control global warming is not worth much the taxes that we give. The only solution would be to become more aware and demand the steps taken by our government to control it.

there're a lot of people trying right now, but it seems like so many people are just so lazy. anywhere you go now you hear something about "going green" "recyclable shopping bags", so there's no doubt people are trying, it's that the world just hasn't completely caught on yet. we'll get there.

Why we don't work to stop global warming?
Because we are all ready too late.
Financially most of us are so down to big problems. We need to find
a way to survive ourselves too.
My main problem now is paying my bill's.
If I had a lot of money, maybe then I could help make more of a difference.
Until then, I need to survive too.
Take care, have a nice evening.

With finance, I mean food on the table.
What do you think we could do against global warming?
If I had a lot of money, I could maybe make a difference, but even then what can I do? You can tell everyone, but will that help?
Here it is 23:30. I am going to bed soon too.
Good night.

"Science is a necessary evil" I hope you have read this proverb some where. Most of the reasons for global warming is advance in technology. We cannot stop using our cars or stop the factories and halt the production all of a sudden. All we have to do is educate people about global warming .The effects of global warming are seen now a days in most of the Hollywood movies ,But people love to see the graphic's work in the movies rather than the real message behind .So ask people to stop thinking it is not my job or what happens if i would only worry about global warming .Every thing starts with a small baby step ,so start educating people and help generate awareness.

i agree with you deepika. most of the people out here are quite aware about global warming and it's dire consequences. but a very few of them are really serious about it. we need to change the mentality of people.
thanks for your response and for caring for our mother earth.
