Has Gmail let you down?

Do you get this message from your gmail "Unable to reach Gmail. Please check your internet connection." I have been getting this message very often these days and it seems I don't get all the discussions from my friends in my email lately. I have to check it from friends started to view discussions started from my friends. It is coming in too slow. I know my cable is perfectly in good working condition but I don't know whether gmail is encountering some problems. I am thinking of reverting to yahoo mail if this problem persist. Is it also happening at your end?

Hmm. I don;t think I've ever had this problem at all, the only things that ever mess up is the Gtalk application on the side of my gmail account. Even with dial up speeds I can still get into my gmail. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

It is affecting many people in mylot. I think there is something wrong with the international cable that connects the net worldwide. I didn't get any mails in my emails the whole day not until a few minutes ago. And a friend from India is also complaining.

Oh, I don't usually use my gmail account. I only ever check it from time to time as it isn't my primary email account.

I have been getting the same message ever once in a while yesterday. I haven't gotten it today. I wonder what was going on that it is giving people that error. I hope they have fixed whatever was causing the issue.

I don't know what is going on either. It hasn't happened yet today. I hope it doesn't happen again, but we'll see.

Well I too get this message at times.I think the traffic is too much into the Gmail at times.More and more people prefer Gmail for its advantages.But Gmail has not let me down seriously ever.It is always temporary glitches that too not very frequent.

I have gmail as well a yahoo mail. I really don't use the gmail that much because I don't really care for the format, but as far as I know I have not had any problems with it.

I have never had any real issues with Gmail except for when myLot is not sending the alerts, or if my Gmail account is full. You do need to empty the Trash from time to time to prevent problems, so if you have not done that, then I would consider this one, or then it is a myLot issue. Personally I prefer gmail over Yahoo anyday. I always have issues with Yahoo and it is harder to keep things seperated, etc. in there as well.

Hi Zandi,
Yes, there is much problem with gmail now – a- days. Sometimes the chat is not working sometimes mails are not coming especially from mylot (getting notifications lately). I thought that the problem may be with my connection only and now I understand that the problem may be with gmail. Actually I was using yahoo mail but fed up with the problems there I shifted to gmail so I can’t encourage you for a shift from gmail. It seems problems are everywhere (with all mails).

In some part yes. Because Gmail has only little space for your emails compare to the the Yahoo mail. I love Yahoo because you could store some large file on it. You could attach files and send it to your email and recover it when your back home. I'm doing this when I'm using another computer away from home.

Hi zandi, yes, the same thing I was wondering. Since past few days I have been receiving the mails much late than the response or comment was posted. Just the other day I was shocked to see that on the response came almost half an hour late and by this time there was comment and argument had already set in.
Besides, I too often get that message that the web page is not available. I fail to understand where is the problem. They should take care of this or if necessary go for a repairing work shutting down for some hours.

It seems that I am not facing this problem alone. I believe mylot has encountered some problems lately as the mails are slow in coming and the constant request of signing in to mylot has been the order of the day when mylotting. Which ever side is having the real issue, no one really knows. Hopefully it will come back to normal soon. It is a waste of time and money getting entangled with problems which is no fault of ours. Unsatisfactory services only frustrate us.

Hmm, That's strange. I have two email accounts with gmail and it has never done that. Could it possibly be your server? I like yahoo and hotmail too although hotmail has been down a couple of times. I would definitely check out a different email site if you think it moight be affecting emails being sent.

I never started on Gmail, I got hotmail and yahoo,,I open Yahoo first,and Hotmail on alternate days, both are slow once in a while,, but that is no big deal

No Gmail has not let me down. i do think it is a reliable service and am glad with the service they provide. I prefer it by far than yahoo or any other free email service. Does the problem lies with your internet service provider?

sometimes, gmail is good all time,very convenient for chatting and getting ,receiving emails. bt it might get some problems in reaching all emails.
bcz i wanna send some emails to UK adress.but it nevered work....
the problems u said "unable to reach Gmail, please check ur internet connection",this always happens..oops, this really makes me unhappy..

No, I don't face this situation at all. I really aprecite gmail more then any other mail service. gmail is great in itself.
