Do you like Steamed Vegetables or just plain?

Do you steam your vegetables or eat them raw? Do you boil them, season them? Do you eat them with or without dressing? Do you do this because it's healthier? Or is it more appetizing? What vegetables won't you eat? What vegetables will you eat? Why? I like a lot of vegetables and I can eat them raw or cooked, it doesn't matter to me. I like zucchini, squash, cucumbers, broccoli, and cauliflower, carrots and celery. Have you ever had zucchini brownies or sweets made with veggies?

I eat my veggies both ways steamed or raw. Yes I boil them some i will suate. I put a little salt pepper garlic salt on them. If they are raw I will dip them into ranch dressing. When I eat green beans I will put salt pepper on them and put a little Italian dressing on them. They are so good like that. My mom said there is a certain way if you cook them there is more vitamins in them I don't know which way it is she told me I forgot though. I wolnt eat carrots lima beans peas squash. I will eat califlower, green beans, brocoli, corn, spinach, cucumbers, celery, zucchini. No I have never had zucchini brownies. Do you have a recipie for them I'd be willing to try it. Sweets made with veggies that I have had: carrot cake, zucchini bread, This was a good discussion thank you SomeCowgirl.

I don't like lima beans myself. I don't have a recipe for them but from what I presume, I think it's normal brownies with just zucchini chopped up and put into the brownies. They were tasteless. Oh yes carrot cake is good, and I've heard of Zucchini Bread just never had it. I appreciate the response. Here's a recipe that I found online for Zucchini Brownies. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Zucchini-Brownies/Detail.aspx

Hi, no dear I have not hear that name before. As for my preference O would like to have them steamed and of course even the raw too would go but it must be well dressed and clean. It is a matter that to keep your bowel clean and working to need to eat lots of green vegetable.

Hi SomeCowgirl, I was told that raw vegetable is more nutritious and healthier than the cooked one. I feel not all the vegetables would taste delicious when taking raw. I enjoy taking tomato, cucumber, turnip, carrot and chili raw only. I prefer to steam or stir fry the other vegetables. I like steamed broccoli, celery, potato and they are really yummy to eat together with some pepper, and a little of soy bean sauce added to them. I like eating steam sweet corn and sweet potato as well. Happy posting.

Both the steamed sweet potatoes and sweet corns are my favorite food. We usually take these as our staple food to eat with some other steamed or stirred fried vegetables as lunch. Sometimes I pick yams instead of sweet potatoes. Yam and sweet potatoes are totally different. The two of them are large and starchy tuberous roots. But sweet potatoes have sweeter taste. The young leaves and shoots of sweet potatoes are delicious and nutritious as well. We like to stirred fry them with shrimp paste, finely chopped garlic and spicy red peppers

I've never heard of steaming sweet potato before although I think I have heard of steaming corn, maybe not sweet corn though. I don't really like turnip that much though they are healthy. Steamed Carrots are good, as well as sweet carrots! You should try sweet carrots! I appreciate the response.

We usually eat most of our veggies plain, or boiled and light salted and / or peppered. Adding a bunch of things takes the flavor away from the main vegetables. I think i've tried it in different ways at restaurants and in the past at a former friend's house. Well I do appreciate your comment back to me. Enjoy eating veggies!

most veggies I prefer raw. Even green beans I will eat raw lol I don't like carrots or broccoli cooked at all. The only veggie I WILL NOT eat is peas not raw or cooked. EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW lol I use dressing on my salad, and am not choosy about what kind. I guess it just depends on my mood at the time. I can't say I have ever eaten anything like zucchini brownies...doesn't sound to appealing eather lol

I love peas, but I think i've only ate them cooked. Maybe not, not sure. Yes Zucchini brownies are rather good, It's just the name that throws people off. I wasn't told that they were zucchini brownies until the bite was in my mouth. I don't think I had even swallowed it, but it's been years. I think I ate more of them just because they had healthy things in them, and I could get away with it... lol.

I Don't mind asparagus although I don't eat it at all, and probably won't unless we go out somewhere to eat. I won't fix it and I don't think my fiane's parents ever do. Aren't radishes sour sweet? I may have had one before but I'm not sure. Steamed Veggies are so good! I appreciate the response.

I have never heard of ripe tomato pudding? Is it good and do you have a recipe? I'd love to see what the ingredients are. I like seasoning on veggies but mostly just salt or pepper, and that's it. I don't think I've tried it with any other seasoning.

It is simple to make Just cook tomotoes with sugar and salt and you layer your bread.you can use regular white bread but leaft over biscuits are better I think. Most of us in the south of United States do season our vegetables.Thank you for responding and have a great day

I like eating some vegetables raw like in a salad. You can make it interesting and tasty by adding a little pepper and salt, and just a hint of lemon juice. It tastes yummy. Also it is a healthy snack. I try to include a salad at least once a day.

For fresh veggies at a meal, I do prefered steamed. For fresh veggies as a snack I like to eat them raw, for the most part. Frozen veggies I boil with very little water, so perhaps they are more like steamed. Canned veggies I drain most of the water out of the can and then heat them up on the stove.

I've never thought of boiling frozen veggies with very little water and I think that it would have the same effect, perhaps even adding a lid from a steam pot. When I've made peas before I've just sloshed them right in, I don't think I took water out of the can myself. I appreciate the response.

Hi, SomeCowGirl! I have never had zucchini brownies. Or sweets with veggies. What are these??? I have tasted cooked zucchini in cooked pasta and rice. I love my veggies steamed. I like to buy the Green Giant vegetable steamer. It comes in a square box and the carrots, cauliflower and broccoli come in it togather. I will cook it in the microwave in the plastic bag. It steams up on its own. It is very delicious! I love eating all kinds of vegetables. I like them cold as well. I love the veggie trays that has all different types of veggies on it. I don't like to eat cold beans, snail peas, long green beans or beets. I don't like it that way. But, I love mostly all of the veggies. They are very nutritious!

Oh Zucchini Brownies are just brownies made with zucchini in them. My aunt baked them one time and they were really good. I have had green giant vegetables, but only the broccoli and cheese tray and the brussel sprouts, atleast that's all from the steamed category I've had. Oh yes cold vegetables are great. I like snap beans, I think I've had snail beans but I'm not sure. I like the snap beans though, they are tastier somewhat in my opinion. Regular green beans in a can are great, but I also like them with fat back. Yes Veggies are very nutritious. I appreciate the response. I hope your having fun mylotting, etc!

I dont really like vegetables, much especially caned vegges, so if I had to choose I would choose fresh or frozen and or steamed, because of course they taste better and fresh or steamed is better also, becuse all of the vitamins stay inside when they are fresh or steamed.

i love steaming vegetables like carrots, string beans and corn. i love it with a little of butter and pepper. although i also eat carrots and cucumber raw no other else. i never tried eating other vegetables raw. i am sure i will not like the taste. i made a research vegetable should not be eaten totally cooked the nutrients will be gone once they are too cooked so it is advisable to have the vegetable half cooked or raw. just make sure to wash them properly. nice topic. be blessed.

I've never heard that vegetables being half cooked retains the nutrients, but I see where that'd make sense. Although I'm not sure how good they'd be as some of the veggie would still be cold and without excess flavor where the other some would be flavorful and cooked. I'd rather have them raw then that. Raw doesn't bother me. I appreciate the response.

It really doesn't matter to me too whether the vegetable is boiled or raw too. My parents couldn't eat raw vegetables, because it is raw, and they don't get used to it. I like salad with some good dressings, otherwise, it won't taste that good.

I know many different people eat veggies in different way. As for salad, I can eat it without dressing but like Ranch dressing and can eat it with catalina dressing as well. I don't usually dress my salad up with too many different things but cucumbers and tomatoes besides the lettuce are good. I appreciate the response.

Well preonally i like vegetables but having plain is such a bad idea. I really don`t like it. And having it boil is so tasteless i wish i don`t suffer from any disease in future otherwise even i have to eat just plain veggies......

Eating anything plain, especially vegetables is just an acquired taste. Sometimes just lightly seasoning them will do the job. I know everyone has their own different taste. Some boil and some fry the vegetables. Frying is the least healthy. I appreciate the response.

Yes steamed vegetables do lose their nutrients, and cooked as well but I do think they are still healthy, just not as healthy. Breaded or fried is the least healthy, I assume. Although I guess you could bread and broil vegetables, if you can, I'm not certain. I appreciate the response.

I am not a vegetatian (yet), but I prefer veggies to meat. I like veggies very much, steamed and fried. In fact, I like leaves better than roots , probably because of the tastes. Whenever I go to restaurants, I would order more veggie items than meat or seafood items.

I grow up that my father pushed us to eat vegetables everyday. I sometimes ate those while i was crying because i just dont like to eat veggies at all. At present im thankful to my father who's been so patient of pushing me to eat, i just dont like vegetables, i love 'em. I sometimes steamed them with salt and pepper or sometimes prepare them raw with some seasoning or dressing. I sometimes cooked with fried fish on it or some meat. Just recently, due to my health condition i make sure that i can eat veggies everyday. I like almost all of the vegetables. I used not to like the green ones but my doctor advised me to eat more of those.

Yes when we don't understand the nutritional value of the food it can sometimes be hard to eat. If it's appetizing but not healthy, sadly it's more appealing. I like vegetables alot now though and enjoy eating them in different ways. I'd have to say raw or breaded is the best way though, other then just steamed with butter. Eating fish with vegetables is also healthy, I know fish is supposed to help with studying etc. I appreciate the response.

I love vegetables to be steamed more than eating them raw. I love when it is boiled and seasoned which tastes very nice. Of course eating raw is more healthy, but then, I can eat only cucumber raw, I don't like any other vegetable raw, not even tomato, I like only when vegetables are boiled and added salt and a bit of red chilli powder to it. I do love cauliflower a lot and carrots too. I even eat the green leafy vegetables which are very good for health. I like most of the vegetables to name any which i don't like.

That would depend on the vegetables. Some I prefer to eat as raw as possible. Some need to be cook or I'll find it not edible enough (steam is good, but cook is even better). Carrot, cauliflower, broccoli must be cook really well for me. Saute will do too. About your question regarding zucchini brownies or sweets made of veggies, no I never try them. That might be a good idea though.
