I am not laughing. I am not judging. I am just informing and sharing. I would love to hear your thoughts. I'm not backing or recruiting. I'm not saying anything... I'm just saying....
From the site:
"Jedi Religious Faith
The Jedi Church believes that there is one all powerful force that binds all things in the universe together. The Jedi religion is something innate inside everyone of us, the Jedi Church believes that our sense of morality is innate. So quiet your mind and listen to the force within you!"
It sounds a bit Humanistic in nature. But different.
My favorite line from the site and one I can agree with completely:
"So in summary, no religion is truth. It is all just a matter of faith"

I agree completely, but why bother with Religion? Neither God or Jesus suggested we need Organized Religions. Organized religions are just a reason to collect money. Neither God or Jesus have mentioned we need to collect money to be Good-living, God-Loving people. Lets get real and acknowledge that All religions are just Scams to collect Your Money.

I'm more of a faith follower (spiritual) then that of any religion. Religion is over rated and full of stinky holes.
I am an ordained Spiritual Humanist though. There is much to agree with and I can perform ceremonies for those around me that ask it of me. But with all religions... it has it's issues.

"The Force is Strong with this One"
Hi Chimes. Great find by the way. I have heard of people taking Jedi as a Religion. I think that site has some interesting beliefs. It would be kind of cool or geeky, depending on your view to have Jedi as ones' Religion.
And just like a real church, they accept donations

LOL--well as a die hard Star Wars fan I always loved the idea of "The Force"---but are these people serious? What's next? A genuine Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?...heehee..mmmmm....let me see, I have to get my Nimbus 2000 broom repaired so I can fly again.

Hmmm now I might be interested in a genuine Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I think that would be loads of fun. Cooking would be so much easier to have all that hard work done on command. lol
As for the idea of the force it is not so strange. Moving without use of the conscious mind is not that unusual. Letting instinct and intuitive reactions take over is not easy to achieve but is possible.

Um.. well.. yeah... there is a real wizard and witchcraft school that was started in the UK after the books came out. I'll have to look it up but it's out there. A lot of us witchy folks were kind of rolling our eyes at it.
I guess we think of our paths differently when we are standing on them.

It sounds like New Age with a Star Wars twist, to me. I guess we have a new New Age, may the force be with them...

It's so big that they even have a following in the police force (which is how I heard about it... an atheist separation of church and state thing) over in the UK someplace.
Yeah there is a bit of pagan in the Force but different. Humanistic.... but different.
I think ... but different... sums it up nicely.
I am all for any faith that teaches humans to play nice, not kill others (with out one heck of a good reason), and protect the Mother Earth. This one seems to fit... but I still had a giggle when I first found it.

I know some people who are very devoted to the Jedi way of life.I admit as a big fan of Star wars myself I often thought of being a Jedi the philosophy behind it I believe it and makes sense.I think it is kinda cool and there are alot of truths to the Jedi way that you can apply to life.I remember many quotes from Star wars that stick out in my mind that make alot of sense to the world I am in now.I think at the end of the day most need to have faith in something to get us through some dark times and most faiths seem to have the same principle they just worship in a different way.As long as your happy and at peace that's what matters and it's good to believe in something how ever or what you choose that site is really interesting!

I definitely agree with that last quote! I am not going to judge anyone and believe we all have the freedom and the right to believe in any religion or have faith in whatever we wish to - as long as no one else is hurt because of it! For myself I could never believe in any religion that was made up from a film/book etc that was a pure work of fiction - and KNOWN to be such! Hugs xxx

I would agree with that. After all one could say what is truth? There is your truth, my truth, the girl next door's truth. It is a matter of perception. 3 people can witness the same event and see different things. They may all tell the truth of what they saw and may all be wrong about what happened.
Religion is purely about faith, there is no truth involved, although the people who found it may believe they are pushing their version of truth. On the other hand they may simply be seeking power over others as so many sects do. After all men used to join the church as an alternative route into power. It is still used to control and condemn people, to manipulate them and all of them ask for blind faith.
As for being Humanistic, there is nothing wrong with that, it is a pity there is not more of it in the world as it might be a better place to live if there was.

Do they provide their members with a LightSaber or train them in Martial Arts?
Here's my favorite quote from the movie :
" Fear is the path to the dark side, Fear leads to anger, Anger lead to hate. Hate ... leads to suffering."
May the Force be with you...
Cheers! :)

I had heard this somewhere else. Mostly it just shows that people are hungry for something to believe in. They want to have faith.

Hello my friend TLChimes Ji,
Well, to be true, I follw the same guide lines as prescribedin my own religion. So I do not have to rest my shoulder to learn faith from thers. I am very much satisfied in my religion. All religions are good. There is nothing that one is better than other. All are at Par. May god bless you and have a great time.

I will try my absolute best to not laugh or judge but I visited the website and under demographics I find it funny that the overwhelming majority of its members are men. I have seen Star Wars and like it and think that the Jedi philosophy is a good one but it was just something that was made up by George Lucas and all the jedi in the movies are just actors. Some of whom probably do not live the jedi way of life in their real lives. But if being a member/believer of the Jedi Church makes you happy and you are not hurting anyone and not trying to shove your beliefs down my throat then I suport you guys.

soooo coool is the jedi religion.
because that : so in summary, no religion si truth, it is all just a matter of faith.
i always think i dont wanna to be certain member of one certain religion.
since i think that all religion exist for some reason. if i choose one it means i dont like the others. i dont wanna make these different holy faith be unharmony.
