I have done the same thing with my car but have you ever washed your hair in the rain? I have when I was growning up. Moma said rain water would make your hair shine. My neighbors that I had afew years ago had their water turned off and I caught them in the back yard taking a bath and washing their hair.lol

I always get the free car wash, as I do not even have a carport for my vehicles. Mine are mostly white vehicles. Hubby sells Dri WashNGuard and it does wonders for my cars. It is a type of waterless car wash.

Dear GardenGerty...is it possible that you share more information regarding this product...or is there a site where I can learn more! Water is liquid gold to me...as I am dependent on a well, and rain-water collection! Seems like the perfect answer to me.....so that all my equipment doesn't look like the farmer that I truly am! LOL! Thank yu, definitely interested!

i also take advantage of the rain sometimes to wash my car... but it hardly showers here and usually when it rains, it is just drizzling... so instead of making my car cleaner, the rain makes it even dirtier... so i still prefer to bring my car to a car washing place and i only spend $4 each time i do that... sometimes less... take care and have a nice day...

Hello ANTIQUELADY! Wow! Very smart lady indeed. I can see the practicality there and you're right, why would we go to a car washer when we can save it using the rain?hehehe..You really gave me an idea with that. Hopefully, someday if I have my own car, I would do what you did.

i hope u have your car soon. everyone needs one. it was just a way of getting the dust off of it quickly. i usually handwash it. think that does a better job than the car washes do. as always thanks for your response. have a happy week.

Hello antiquelady. Yes, rain is good to wash cars LOL. I did it some times. We must take advantage from nature if it gives us a bad and rainy day and we can save a little too. This makes me think that nature is always wonderful. Have a nice night friend.

That is one good way of getting dvantage from the rain is it not? I think you have given me good ideas in opening this topic. Why not isn't it. We can save water if we wash the car using the rain water. What a smart idea. Thanks my friend for sharing.

hello antiquelady i hear ya about waking up to the rain this morning. i had to go out grocery shopping this morning in the rain. grrr. lol it wasn't that bad thou, i lucked out and got a close parking spot to the entrance of the grocery store. lol but yeah, my car had pollen or something like that all over it, so i guess that the rain washed all of it off this morning. i think that it is supposed to rain around here in Middle Tennessee again tomorrow as well. it looks like we are in for a wet Monday to start our week. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

i hate to go for groceries in the rain. to be truthful i don't like to go anywhere in the rain. it's not that i'm afraid i'll melt or anything like that. lol. i think we must be having about the same weather in w.tennessee that u are. it will rain one minute & the next thing u know the sun is shining. i love sunshine. have a happy day. thanks for your response.

I just love it when a showere of rain comes and washes my car. I do not have a garage as I turned that speace into a room so my car is outside all of the time. However we have no snow so this is o.k. I also love the rain to water my lawn. I water plants but not lawn as the cost of water is high. I just love iot when my lawn looks green

Yes I have done that as a cheap car wash. We get a lot of rain here so the car is clean most of the time. I don't see the point going to the car wash when it is raining but a lot of people do it.

I too prefer to hand wash my car and give it a good waxing. The commercial wax in the car washes here are not that good. I like the car nice and shiny. The weekend has been good for me, we have been having some sun at last over the weekend so that was nice for a change. How was your weekend?

A good advantage for cleaning your car. A pretty look of car is often an image representing the owner. But you need to clean it dry with adequate detergent, to eliminate the negative effect from the sour rain, if any. More important is the interior. The dirt and dust are liable to harm the respiratory system of the passengers.

thanks for your response. when i wash my car i handwash it my self. all i was letting the rain do was rinse it off. i do keep the inside of my car clean but i don't have many passengers so that's not a problem.

Absolutely. Here where I live we have just come out of a huge water shortage. We have ben on restrictions for years and only in the past week have we finally had enough to rain for the restrictions to be loosened up a bit. For the last few years I have relied on the rain to keep my car clean! You're right, it is an easy and effective way to wash your car and you don't even have to lift a finger!

Always, always...always, my dear! The only time that my good old F250 gets washed, my e-bike or ride'em lawnmower is when it rains....and I see fit to grab the "brodie" brush and a pail of soapy water! Living on an Island, and being dependent on a well, means all rain is collected and pumped into holding tanks! You betcha, my dear, water is liquid gold....and I get goose bumps when I see people wasting it! Even grey water is used to flush toilets & water gardens...and believe me, when I have spent a day gardening...the water is GREY! LOL! Have a spectacular day...my dear friend...Cheers!

Hi ya ANTIQUELADY Well done you!! I too have a black car and know how difficult it is to keep it clean! I often leave buckets outside to fill up with water so that I can water my garden when it dries out!

My car needs cleaning inside and out. I am just too lazy to do it. We had rain in the forecast for today but it never really rain much it did sprinkle a little. The sky was cloudy all day just like the bottom was about to fall out but nothing happened. I hope you get the nice sunny days that you want so that you can clean your car. I am going to put some weed killer out so I need some sunny day too for that.

well I never wash my car in the rain because rain water contains hard particles that can ruin your paint. so in weekends I take 4-5 bottles of 5 litres each, a shampoo and I go on a field and wash my car by hand, with a soft sponge and in 1 hours it looks like new :D
