my grandson & i have had more fun w/these. they are inexpensive & he's like them more than things i paid more for. what it is is a variety of different things sush as a turtle, alligator, starfish, occtupus, sting ray, etc. u put them in water & they grow . i think any child would enjoy then especially if they don't have a pet.when the turtle grew , ther first one we did, my grandson was just amazesd. he said it was awesome. we started a stingray yesterday. when we first started the turtle he left it here & told me to call him every day to report how much he had grown. good pet to have, u don't have to feed then just keep them in water. i foind them at the dollor general store. they would make great gifts, stocking stuffers & are great for your on. have u seen these?

Did your alligator come in an egg?that is the one I saw at Pockets. They are amazing how they dry and go down to their little size.I am glad you have fun with your grandson playing with his toys.Have agreat day.

I believe I have been up close and personal with some magic grow dinosaurs, somewhere in my dim past. I do not remember the context, but they were colorful and intersting. It may be that they came out of a coin machine.

This sounds great. I am going to ask my daughter to get some before she leaves the USA and slip themn into the containers that she is shipping down to us. They would make great treats and gifts for children. she has to leave by June 30th but has got someone to lease her house so that the mortgage will be paid and she does not have to sell it. I love the dollar store and now you have given tme the idea for a post. Blessings. I'm really rubbish at posting!

i had been wondering about your daughter but hated to bring it up. glad to get an update. so sorry this is happening to her. it's really very unfair. i'm so glad she has made arrangements to keep her house. hope that works out well. hope she has somone that will be checking on it for her. renters can be a pain in the butte. they are neat little things for children. i have bought my grandson one of every kind they have. i just give them to him one at a time.i think any child would enjoy them. it's amazing to me how they grow. they are pretty neat.you are not rubbish, don't say that about yourself. i think u are pretty speacial. u sure have been nice to me. wish your daughter the very best, u to.

u are a good grandmother, suzzy. don't u like teaching them to play w/simple things instead of all this modern tech that keeps them in the house all the time.

Plastic cups, ect make wonderful play things with sand and water or good old fashioned mud.they can throw them, jump on them ect and they never break.I used to give my little ones a wooden spoon and a plasic colandar {sieve}hours of fun being a marching band, such wonderful times..

We enjoyed the sea monkeys. You can get the container and kit and they last a good while. They are very interesting to watch.
As far as a turtle, I got salmonella from one at age 9 and it about did me in!! I got SO sick from it! Recently that has been an issue again because a good bit of them are imprted and they can very easily carry salmonella, so can iguanas and things like that, so you have to be careful! Needless to say, I never let my children have a turtle!!

Those are so cute. I got daughter the person's head and when the plants grew it looked like hair..lol..she loved it. Kids like to grow stuff and anyway and then when you throw a turtle or a green haired man in the mix..well...you have the perfect thing for a kid..lol..Take care.

My 6 year old loves these things. He got a hatch an egg type deal in his easter basket this year. It was a huge egg, and as with the other little things you can buy like capsules you place it in water and watch it deveolp. His turned out to be a turtle, and the funny thing about it... he's taken better care of the fake turtle then his real fish he begged for his birthday last year, lol. We like anything cheap and fun in our house so we are always buying odd and off the wall things for the kids to do.

my grandson has liked these alot better than some things i have paid more for. i'm always picking him up some little ol' thing to have for him when he comes on sun. he expects it now. lol. when u can find something to entertain them at such a reasonable price it's a good thing . i bet that was a cute thing he got in his basket, aren't kids great!!!
