Dear Perez Hilton. Please shut the hell up.

Dear Perez Hilton, Thank you for single handedly setting the gay rights movement back yet another step with you ignorant and bigoted comments about Miss California, Carrie Prejean’s views on gay marriage. Being a gay man in a long term, committed relationship I found your question during the Miss America pageant AND your reaction to be an tactless, offensive to all gay people in America, and an affront to very core of our struggle and goals. Tell me, Hilton, why did you pose the question if you did not want her honest answer? Furthermore, why continue to attack Ms. Prejeans response on your… “blog”? Do you realize that now your hateful words are being used as yet ANOTHER reason why gays are struggling for equality? Tolerance can only work two ways. If you want the public to be open minded and accepting of us as people, then you need to offer up that tolerance and acceptance in return. The attacks need to end. The slander needs to end. And as a gay man I resent your perpetual portrayal of homosexuals being angry, mean spirited, intolerant individuals. Let me take this moment to publicly decry your obvious bigotry and distance myself as much as possible from your extremist views. You sir, are an embarrassment to all self respecting homosexual Americans. You have no business being a judge at an apple fritter convention, let alone a Miss America Pageant. Why exactly are you famous again?? You have no talents, no skills, and no qualifications. Your inane little “blog” is nothing but ignorant drivel… the useless rants of a deranged, misinformed bigot. The next time you open your mouth to burp out anymore garbage, ask yourself if you are practicing the same tolerance you would expect from others. And I solemnly ask you… please. PLEASE. Shut the hell up and let those of us with at least half a brain do the talking from now on. Sincerely, The Gay Community. To the straight community I sincerely apologize for this lunatics comments and I ask that you please do not judge all gay people by this morons example. So does anyone else agree that Perez Hilton did more harm than good? Does anyone else agree that he needs to shut the hell up before he does even MORE damage?

If you want to act out your gay tendencies, go right ahead. I just don't want or need to hear about it. I'm not going around telling everybody that I'm straight so why do I need to hear that you're gay? You are what you are.... SO WHAT?!! I don't have to answer to God, you or they do. I'm not here to judge but to accept and love everybody regardless of what they practice. I just don't need to know. PERIOD!

I welcome you to reply, but only if you can contrubute to the topic at hand. This discussion is about my reaction to Perez Hilton and the Miss America Pageant. Your response was completly off topic. It's actually against mylot rules. If you want to voice your opinions about homosexuality there are plenty of dicussions to do so on. Thats not what this discussion is about and I would appreciate it if you followed the rules of MyLot and stayed on the topic of the discussion. Thanks.

honestly he is so bias! that question should be answered personally and therefore there's no right or wrong. but of course he's gay so he is declined to have her answer the "right" question for Him. This is how they promote homosexuality, in entertainment industry, slowly sneaking in, influencing people by their maliscious jokes & as a judge of beauty pageant, question about legalization! what's your point of view about gay marriage? It should be good to the homosexual ear, dummy!

dont get me wrong i read you post & i'm aware that not all of you are as bad as he is.. in fact i have few gay friends, too, & they're awesome. what im saying is those gays with inlfuence in public in any sort, like bishop in church or judge in pageant, will do whatever they can do to force people to accept their claim of equality. i had posted a discusion about this before i comment here please check it out. :D

Alright, Im sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying. I just get so angry when people think that because morons like Perez Hilton are pushy and sneaky that means ALL gay people are like that. Because we ARENT. Trust me, I am just as outraged as anyone at his actions. He is an embarasment to the gay community and I would really appreciate it if people would not judge us all by his example.

I think you missed the entire point of my discussion. Allow me to spell it out for you. I am a gay man. I found Perez Hiltons question, and actions, to be tasteless and stupid. I am asking that people (like you) do not judge all homosexuals by his example. Like you just did. So thanks for not reading my discussion before responding, and thanks for thinking that all gay people are as mean spirited and sneaky as Perez. We are NOT. And I would thank you for judging ME, for ME... and not for Perez Hilton.

The Hiltons can't breath without doing more damage. Can the community get a refund on the air their using?

Yea, but then they might make first contact. Could you imagine the nightmare that would be? If an alien race thought all of us were like those spoiled bigoted brats ( this is me trying to be nice here )they'd wipe our planet clean.

I agree with you. Not everyone who believes as she does "hates" gays. They have the same right to have an opinion that others do. What they don't have the right to do is attack others for their opinions, and that is what Perez is doing. He is wrong and should be held accountable for his own intolerance.

Miss California said her answer and backed her answer up great. She is unbelievable and she speaked so fluent and so good. She did an excellent job supporting her answer and was just awesome. She wasn't fake or anything about her answer and she was real about it and I'm glad that someone has stood out and did this and people always think pageants are a easy thing to do and they really aren't. Sorry to say but her answer was true and was the best she could give at the time of nerves and stress are put on you. Perez Hilton asked the question and so he did deserve the truth and if he didn't like it to bad he is the one who asked the question and she was not going to lie about but to give the truth is what the judges usually want out of a pageant and in the interview process. He just wanted another 15 minutes of fame and why is he famous anyways really? He really doesn't need to talk abut it anymore because he trully is in wrong about it all. He shouldn't of asked the question if he didn't want the truth and to not have his feeling hurt.

I obviously dont agree with her answer, BUT, she had EVERY right to say it! The poor girl spoke from her heart, and I did NOT find her response to be offensive in an way shape or form. She responded with poise, grace, and dignity, and I appluade her for her bravery when she knew full well the question was a trap. Honestly, it was a tactless question, and had no reason to be asked in the first place. I'm just outraged. The gall of Perez Hilton to even ask the question, let alone the way he treated her after... its just disgusting. I had no respect for him anyways because, lets face it the man is a useless sack of fat who has no business judging anyone (expect maybe the person he sees in the mirror). But after this ordeal I am ACTIVLY opposed to him. I am encourageing the gay community to boycot his "blog" and publicly make known their resentment for his mean spirited and ignorant comments.

I agree with you. I don't know what's the fuss is all about. Ms. California voiced out her opinion and even if we agree or not to it, the least we could do is respect it. If we could learn to respect each other's opinion whether it opposes ours or not, everything will just be fine and there's nothing to make a big deal about really. Perez Hilton, I don't know, he's annoying for reasons I can't explain. I'm sure Ms. California will have a bright future and career even if she didn't won the pageant.

I never heard of Perez Hilton. Is he a celebrity or something? Even though I missed the pageant I did read up a little on what is going on. Perez Hilton sounds like a very narrow-minded man. He asked a question (and a very controversial one, at that) and Miss California gave her answer. Even though she probably should have worded it more carefully, she didn't say anything wrong. But then again when someone says "no offense to anyone out there" it tends to offend people. Mr. Hilton definitely needs to stop and think what he is doing. He has no reason to be nasty to this contestant. And to flame her like he is, is just wrong, not to mention pathetic.

Well said. Another thing that irritates me about Perez is how he is always saying one actor, performer, etc. is gay without any proof. Granted, they might be but having pink hair does not give one the intellect to tell if one is gay. Maybe he's hoping to get a date, I don't know. Just strange.
