I wake in the morning with these headaches, they hurt in the same place every morning right above my eyes. Some time they will go away on their own and sometime I have to take something over the counter pain medication before I can get some relief.
Do you have headache at any certain time of the day?
Do you think they may be migraines?

You better check with the doctor. It is a concern to have headaches upon waking up in the morning. It might signal some kind of health problems like BP. I used to have headaches when I am exposed too much to the hot sun so I avoid going out when the weather is too hot.

Chevee-
Depending upon what else is going it very well could be migraines. It could also be tension/stress headaches, and it could be headaches from not sleeping properly. Either your mattress or pillow could be wrong for you. It could also be that you are dehyratated. There are many reasons our body gives us a headache, but it's generally a warning to us to do something. If over the counter medications are working, then it could be simple tension headaches. If you are getting them on a regular basis and have other things going on such as listed on the NINDS site http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/migraine/migraine.htm
you may want to follow up with your doctor and chat about migraines.

yuou should talk to your doc and see about getting some tests done.. possible you have like a sinus infection or something.. that's where your sinus's are.. I think there are different types of pain for migrains. i used to get them a lot before i wore my glasses regularly, and also when i was preg.. they would start off me loosing some vision.. i'd see swirls of colours in my eyes, then that would slowly go away and be replaced by pain that nothing really helped. thank god i dont get them anymore. THEY SUCK.

Some times I have headaches when I first wake up in the morning. I believe that they are stress headaches. I least this is what my former doctor told me. Now when I get a migraine it is totally different. My head will hurt so bad that I can not even think or sleep. I will often take a pain pill once it is so bad that tears are flowing.

Hi Chevee,
It could be migraines but then it could be someting to do with your eyes, you should go and visit your doctor about it as you shouldn't be getting those headaches like that. Hugs.

I think its just a strat of migrain. its a place where your sinu's are so beginning witn a sinus pain leads to migrain, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible because later on it may get severe if not consulted. my siter is operated with sinus tumor, so i think it is better you go fast and get medicated soon.

Yours sound like sinus headaches. Above the eyes and in the morning...those are usually sinus headaches. Which definitely hurt. I have migraines headaches, and I have sinus headaches sometimes too. I take Tylenol Sinus for the sinus headache and it goes away. My migraines are harder for me to get rid of. And I almost always wake up with sinus headaches, I don't usually get just them in the middle of the day.

I agree with Sissygirl, I think it is sinus, I was having headaches when I wake up right temple, the doctor gave me some stuff call Astepro, it is a nasial spray and it is great, since I started using it there is no more pain. She also thought that I might be getting migraines. Sinus cause a lot of problems that we think are from some other source. Sinus drain down into my throat at night and litterly cut off my breathing. Check it out with the doc ask if it might possibly be sinus.

That sounds like your sinus'. Are you allergic to anything? Try taking an allergy pill and see if that helps. If it does then BINGO! You know what it is! I have those headaches every single Spring and Fall for about two weeks straight before they decide to go away. I take allergy meds every day but sometimes it doesn't work like they should.

I have experience the same last week and i have been to the doctor to have a check up about the pain i feel every morning until afternoon. It will only stop in the evening or when i could not get direct to the sunlight in which it hassles my day and could not get to work of the pain that makes me bothered. As the doctor suggested me to wear eye glasses but it never stop the pain on my head until one of my niece told me that i have to take a medicine for the pain reliever, and after two days of taking a medicine every 6 hours, the pain has gone out and i can normally do the things now.

I almost always wake up with a headache. Yours could be caused by an allergy to dust mites which tend to get into pillows and mattresses. It doesn't sound like you're having migraines.
Migraines generally tend to be excruciating pain, sometimes associated with nausea, vomiting, and severe sensitivity to light and sound. But, with yours being right above your eyes, where we have some of our sinuses, that's what it sounds like to me.
I bought some covers for my pillows that block out dust mites and it really has helped tremendously! Although they're not as severe, I still have headaches in the morning, so I'll probably have to get one of those covers for the mattress as well.
They don't cost a lot and are well worth the price in the pain I no longer get in the mornings. They used to be kind of 'crinkley', making noise when we laid our heads on them but they make some now that are completely soft and flexible and make no sound at all.
I started buying them for my youngest son who was tested positive for allergies to dust and dust mites. They helped him SO MUCH! If you can, buy one just for your pillow and see if that doesn't help. Then, if it does help but you still have headaches in the morning, buy one for your mattress. I think it's the best investment I've ever made!
You certainly don't need headaches first thing in the mornings, especially now when you're babysitting... that's enough sometimes to give us headaches! I hope all is going well with your babysitting. Oh, how I'd love to be there, doing it with you! I adore babies and miss having them around the house.
Of course, the babies that we can hand back to their parents every night (or afternoon) are the BEST kind to have because you get to play and care for a sweet little baby without having to wake up in the middle of the night or worry about their expenses!
OH!!! I almost forgot!!! Since it is now officially April 25th, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Chevee!!! I hope your day is a grand one! Even if you spend it alone, be sure to pamper yourself today. We really only get one day a year that is our very own special day and you deserve a little pampering. So, if you don't get too much pampering by others, be sure to do something you LOVE doing, no matter what it is: a good book, a long soak in the bathtub with bubblebath (you can make bubblebath out of shampoo if you don't have bubblebath), or just sitting around being lazy and watching TV or something.
Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

First advice here is that, you should always consult a doctor for this. Because the matter is different that we have thought it to be.
I get headaches and have migrain too. In migraines one feels nauseatic and the pain is often at one side of the head, either left or right.
Hope you are well soon. Take care.

I suffer from severe migraines; so much so that I am on two medications for them and see a neurologist. I get one almost daily and I can tell you, they can occur anywhere on your head, although usually either on the right side or the left side. Mine hits me at my forehead and moves down and feels as though someone has punched me in the nose! (I've had CTs, MRIs, etc., so my doc knows they are migraines). I also have a partial blockage in one of the arteries in my brain; sort of like PAD, except in the brain, which I take a medication for. The medication will not get rid of the blockage, but will prevent it from getting larger. It's scary to think I could drop over stroking out some day, but I've left it in the Lord's hands. When it's my time to go, He'll call me home. You really do need to see a doctor, tho. Start out with your primary care physician and he/she will probably refer you to a neurologist. Migraines are nasty; sensitivity to light, smell and sound can bring one on and you can certainly get awfully sick, from being sick at the stomach to throwing up. If it gets that serious, tho, I would suggest going to your local ER. They can give you nausea medication to help with the nausea/vomiting and will probably also take a head CT. As I said, I suffer terribly almost daily with migraines, so if you need help or advice, let me know. I'm always here! Best of luck and feel better.

They very well can be migraines. I suffer from migraines and they are in my eyes as well. I can go to bed with them and wake up with them just as intense as they were the day before. They also tend to last for days. I went and had a CT scan does and they said my brain was fine. They suggested it could have been eye problems but I have already been to the eye doctor and know thats not the case, he also said it could be poor eating habits (which could be partially my reason). I still get migraines and sometimes it has to do with weather. The neurologist also suggested that maybe I get migraines more frequently when the barometric pressure changes. He diagnosed me with tension migraines.
To determine if its a migraine I suggest you go and see a doctor who could maybe refer you to someone higher up. There are alot of factors that need to be considered to determine your situation

I would bet on caffeine withdrawal, since they are first thing in the morning. It could be migraines, I guess, or stress, or this time of year it could be sinus and allergies. All of my headaches got better when I started taking magnesium regularly.

Hey chevee! It could be a migrane, but I'm not really sure.
Migranes are very painful and have other symptoms like not being
able to stand light and any noise and sometimes upseting your
stomach. They are brought on by stress. They don't necessarily
occur at the same time every day. I know that you are under
alot of stress right now so it is a possibilty. But, again
migranes are very specific in their syptoms and the pain
is unbearable. So if you think that is what you are having
then you should get yourself checked by a doctor.
