I'm not so much into reality shows but there are a lot of people who are. I know they take us in depth into other's lives and it's very educational. I watched a show called Wife Swap and I used to watch Survivor. I was pretty in to them. Nanny 911 was alright too. Are you into reality shows? If you are..which ones do you watch? If not..please tell us why..I sometimes prefer shows that take me away too.

HI! Jen!
I do not get an opportunity to see those reality shows, which you have mentioned and probably these are telecast in your city. However, I like watching reality shows the soap opeara, which are available in our country. These reality shows may also be stage managed, however they give us a sense of feeling that everything is happening in reality and we can easily relate ourselves to these shows.

There is an element of relation that goes along with reality shows. I think it is easy to get caught up in them because of just that. I always think..well..I would do this..or I would dd that..lol..when in truth I wouldn't make it through the first episode..LOL. Thanks for the response and take care.

Life is the real reality. I can't stand those shows, they are scripted and stupid. Or, they are so lame that you feel like you are watching a train wreck while secretly saying to yourself, "Man, I'm not that screwed up, or am I?" I do like the Amazing Race because those people are competing for a prize and you can't fake the stuff that they do. Wife Swap is interesting, I think they should come out with Recycled Dad and have different fathers do the work of each other, Wall Street or cleaning the streets, I think it would be good to see how dads handle different work enviornments.

That's a great idea..lol..I think alot of them are staged as well. My favorite is a show called Scare Tactics. They play these elaborate jokes on people that would make me snap..lol..I like seeing how they handle it. The others I just see from time to time while flipping. Thanks for responding.

Right now I have two favorites that are on my not not be missed list. First there is Biggest Loser. I watch every episode of this show and just get so attached to the contestants and their struggles which are very relatable for me. I find this show inspirational and motivational.
The other show that i have gotten hooked on the last few seasons is Deadliest Catch. This show follows the Alaskan crab fisherman during their seasons. What these guys do on a daily basis is just incredible to watch. Then to make it more captivating they are constantly interviewing the crew and captains, so you get to see what these guys are really like.

I really loved there make overs they all looked so good with there new looks.
It was a tough decision last week I really liked them both.
Good luck to all of them. May the best one win.

no offense to anyone, but reality shows are horrible. I hate them! 99% of them aren't even reality anyway. They claim to be, but they are not. People act differently when they are on camera than they normally would, and that's not reality. They may try to act real, but there are certain things that they will do in their regular lives that they won't do well on camera. But, I guess reality is a relative term.

Well, lets see. I love American Idol and Canadian Idol. And I love the Bachelor and Bachelorett, spelling is bad, sorry. I've never really been into survivor or wife swap or the race one, I forget what it is called.
Why do I like American Idol or Canadian Idol, because I like that it gives people a chance to meet the right people for them to move on with their careers. Also because I like music and they are just good at making music.
I don't really know why I like The Bachelor or Bachelorette but I do. And the girl that is going to be on the Bachelorette is from a town not that far from where I live, in Alberta, so that makes it more interesting for me. I am looking forward to it starting. I guess I am just a romantic at heart. hehe

Hi chrislotz! I loved the first Bachelor! I watched it faithfully..lol..I haven't really watched any since but it's just because I have a hard time scheduling in my TV time. I haven't got to watch the bachelorette yet. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the response.

I quite enjoy reality shows - at the moment I'm looking forward to MasterChef Australia, which is starting tonight. I enjoyed the first couple of seasons of Survivor - and still watch, though they're getting a bit repetitive and seem more 'staged' than they used to. I really love The Amazing Race - it's always fun. There are some rubbish reality shows, but I enjoy seeing 'ordinary' people doing extraordinary things - and how they cope with the challenges.

I love wife swap! I watch just to see how they adjust to living in the different environment and how they how they come up with different ways to teach the adoptive family their views. I also watch to see the sit down at the end when the wives give their criticism. I watch Supernanny to see how others deal with unruly children and also to get some new ideas that I could use with my own triple threat. I also watch The Bad Girls Club but thats just for fun.

Hi Jen,
sorry I am not into any reality shows. I hare the makeshift and hypocrisies displayed there. I watched two such shows but after watching two episodes of each of them I never went into it. Let others enjoy it, I have no problems nor any objection.

i don"t think i am into the reality shows .life is very different fome one to one .you can not decide what may happen ,you can also can: do anything to change thething that had happened .What you should do is to xccept it ,and don"t give up .The reality is if you keep on ,you can get what you have dreamed.

Here, In India reality shows are selling more than soaps. You will get everything n reality TV here. Singing, dancing, fun, educative, adult - you name it! I am not much into it though. Sometimes, I just watch some dance reality show, which I find amazing and then some episodes of 'The Beauty and the Geek', 'Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader' and 'American Idol'.
But I am not an ardent follower. I watch in between and missing any show doesn't upset me like many.

i am not nor never have been a fan of the reality based tv shows. they are just not my thing. i find it absurd that people would want prying eyes in their daily lives but my theory is that most of the people who do these shows have no real talent to market and are has beens and need a way to still earn a dollar. just my honest opinion.

There are a couple of reality shows I watch.
These are the shows I watch, some butt of Kim Kardashian. It's a lame show, but the fun of their family makes it alright. ^^
Uhm, The Apprentice is also one of the shows I watch. I used to watch survivor. Up until amber and rob won. :)
Then, I'm still addicted to the Amazing Race show. :) uhm... there are a lot of good "reality" shows.

Hi Jen! Although I am aware of how absurd they are I still enjoy them! I used to be a huge Big Brother fan. We've had eight seasons of it here and most people were saying it had run its course and I agreed that it was downright stupid sometimes but I couldn't help watching! There is something about watching real people who aren't acting deal with situations that fascinates me.
The ones I like these days are Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Australia's Got Talent and Australian Idol. I'll pass on The Biggest Loser and Survivor though.

I watched that Big Brother when it first started. I think it is neat to see how people react to certain situations. There was one on MTV for a while that was pretty good to but I can't remember the name right off. Thanks for the response.
