I agree, insecurities lead to jealousy. And, a person who is often envious of others might have a deeper problem than jealousy. I, myself, try not to acknowledge feelings of jealousy. I accept that things are not always fair. And, I know that we all have good and bad in our life. And, you can't take the good without the bad. So, although you may want to inherit someone's good fortune, think about would also want to inherit their bad fortune. Also, if I am in a situation that makes me feel insecure or messes with my self confidence or self perception I GET OUT!! There are too many things that we can't control that try to get at us everyday. So, those situations that I can control do. And, I don't have to be around anyone who makes me feel insecure. But, if you are often feeling insecure it may be time for some self reflection. I think that people have to learn to just say "it is what it is" and accept some things instead of always complaining, trying to change people/things or wishing for more. Efforts to change things are more greatly rewarded when they are used on trying to change ourselves.

Why should you be jealous if your mother is combing your sister's hair.lol Why don't you sit down and say Mummy/Mama I want you to comb my hair. The last time my mother comb my hair I was 27 and it was three months before she die. You know my sister's always have problem with this as well because no matter how old I was I always sit down and let her comb my hair. Now where your boyfriend is concern do you do the things that allows your boyfriend to be himself around you. This is something you will need to look into.

I think a bit of jealousy is normal. If you don't get a bit jealous then maybe your feelings for that person aren't very strong. I think it's when it gets out of hand or when EVERYTHING makes you jealous. Pretty much everyone gets jealous for the same reasons and those are obvious. But the petty things are the ones that cause trouble in the relationship.
