I know men collect as well, but I think women like to collect more things to decorate. It could be a favorite flower, favorite artist, favorite animal, etc. What statues, sculptures, art work, etc do you collect and decorate your home with and why? I don't really have a favorite right now, people in my family like barbies, angels, Thomas Kinkade, Light Houses, Etc. I just don't know what I like right yet. I guess not everyone has to collect things to decorate the home with. I'm leaning more towards western stuff which is also what my fiance likes, maybe horse shoes, etc. Little bible verses on plaques, inspirational things at best.
So what do you collect? did you start collecting it before or after getting married and how much of the thing do you have now?

I used to collect stamps, but one day my brother stole in and took it to his school. He was keeping it for some time, but he didn't take care of it and somehow he lost it. I am very fond of candles. I like to collect different kinds of candles and make a showcase at my home. I haven't started it yet.
Thanks for responding to my discussion. Happy mylotting.

Candles have such beautiful scents and sometimes exotic scents. Collecting candles are great, and once you get a collection started you will have them for if the power goes out as well. Of course some candles are just for showcase and not to be burned, right?
lol. I appreciate the response.

Do you put this photos in picture frames to showcase in the home? What other things do you collect and show in your home? There are several ways we preserve our collections, in a clear box so as to show them off but not get them dusty, in a dust jacket sleeve so as to not get things dusty, and also in it's original collector's tin or box. Most collector's items come with it's own way of keeping the thing clean, and preserved.
I appreciate the response.

They are plain and simple yet elegant. They are beautiful but at the same time sad, Weeping Willow being their name. Truly just a shade tree with a depressing name. Lol. Are they the statues you can paint or were they pre-painted?

This is a really good discussion baby and I am sure that different people collect different things,I am sure there are people who collect things like shoes and dvd's and maybe even c.d.s or old records, and then I am sure that there are people who collect things for their home like maybe furniture, statues,or paintings of a favorite painter,or maybe even books from a favorite author, and I know that members of your family like barbies, angels,Thomas Kinkade and lighthouses, and members of my family like angels,Thomas Kinkade, and owls and I know that you are leaning towards western stuff and I definitely like western stuff like boots and horseshoes, and we have several boots sitting around in our room,as well as in our bathroom, and some of the boots have been in this house for several years, and hopefully after we get married and get our own house we can still use the boots,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

Yes I know that we have both looked at sites that feature western home decor and we enjoyed them. I think that when we get on our house we should definitely go to the antique store and see if we can't find a few things that we like that we can use the home as well as use for decor. Ofcourse we'd want to take special care of these items to retain their value. In any case, Western stuff is great and I am sure your mother will not mind if we take them with us, and who knows we may also get a few things from your grandparents and mine, and our parents because of how much we know they enjoy collecting. Face it, we enjoy collecting as well.
I love you with all of my heart and soul and want to say that I greatly appreciate the response you've made.

I know two people who would really love your kitchen then. That sounds like a very red kitchen, and I think it'd definitely be unique. I'm sure you get a lot of compliments on it as well. I appreciate the response.

Well Thank You, our house is done in toungue and groove pine boards on our walls, rough cut board on our ceiling, carpet in all rooms except for our two bathrooms, kichen and dinning room there floors are done in smokey blue slate rock. Our house is a log cabin, and then all my countertops are in real marble so the read decor of coke products really sets the kitchen off. My house is my dream house that my husband worked for many years to make it come true. Once again thank you and have a great day!!

oh i use to collect all sorts of things! i collected badges and soft toys and even aluminum cans that are considered collectors items. but if a collection that i have continued i have to say my shoes and phone i have to buy a new shoe every month and it will be my shoe of the month. im a real shoe fanatic i just love them! and phones every year i change my cell phone, i just love seeing how the phones evolves to slimmer and sleeker things and this year i got the htc touch pro making it my first touch phone im soooooo excited. i know im a little odd with the things i collect. than again that's what makes me unique. i must say i have quite an extraordinary collection of things as I've never seen anyone collect the same things i do. but if i ever did meet one i would love to compare my collection with them.
i also use to collect note books and diaries! but i never filled them out. i just loved the front cover's design. cheers love.

It does sound like you collect a lot of different things. I, myself like to collect things that I can put on display in a home. Shoes, etc do not seem the type of things to put on display. Do you collect anything you can display?
