I just thought of asking this question since I also have a fish at home. I usually feed them twice a day, in the morning and evening. People told me not to overfeed the fishes because they might die so that's why I'm only feeding them twice a day.
how about you? How often do you feed your gold fish?

You shouldn't feed your fish more then once a day, and feed what the fish will eat in about 3-5 minutes. Net out any uneaten food-which usually isn't an issue with goldfish. Uneaten food left in the tank just fouls up the water.
It's also a good idea to vary up the foods you feed the fish during the week. Fancy goldfish especially will benefit from being fed the inside of a pea once or twice a week. This helps with constipation issues which can contribute to swim bladder problems. It's actually good for all fish, but the weirder shaped fancy goldfish varieties do benefit from it greatly.

My hubby feeds our fish once a day, and he says it is enough. I love to see them eating, so if I was the one to feed, I like to feed twice a day.

Twice a day is good. But still, you have to observe to know the quantity of food you will be giving to your fish. Feed them a little amount at a time until your fish will ignore the food. Take note of the amount of food you give. Once you get the right amount, maintain such feed quantity for a week or two then observe and determine the right amount again.
