Are you a vibrant person?

We all know people who we think of as being vibrant and sometimes such people can inspire us to great heights. On the other hand, we all know those that are very negative or cynical but we often forget that they too can be an inspiration because they can show us where we don’t want to be and why. It might be a good idea to consider where we fall on a scale between the most pessimistic person we know and the most vibrant, not in order to pass judgment, but rather to work towards being a more positive and vibrant human being. What are your thoughts?

I would like to believe that I am a very vibrant person. I do know of some whom are extremely cheerful, vibrant and certainly full of life but they have 1001 sad things that happen in their lives and in which they are hiding with their smile showing to the world. I think that people like that are very noble. In my own mind, I think that is so because it is surely not easy to give a smile and face the world with a positive and vibrant outlook and at the same time, having a heavy heart. That's not hypocrite to me and I will always respect these types of people. On the other hand, there are those that pretend to be happy but actually their hearts are filled with hatred, jealousy and all that. Well, people are people and these are my general thoughts. Good discussion here, Pose.

Hi Pose! Love your discussions. As for your question, I'm not sure what end of the spectrum I fall on. I do know that I like to think of myself as a generally positive person. Who wouldnt? But at this point in my life, I will admit I havent mastered the skill of being positive all the time. I'm a big fan of the element of humor. I frequently use sarcasm, witty jokes and well intended jibes to get my point across... and make people smile and look inward. It's an artform tho. You have to be mindfull not to cross certain lines with certain people at the risk of offending them. And thus, since I use the art of humor in my day to day life... I have also become a student in the science of the apology... lol :)

Hi Tee, Thanks for commenting and I'm sure we all enjoy being positive, but also being human we're not likely to master the art of being that way all the time. I also agree with you about humour and even though I'm usually serious in my discussions here, I'm not always that way. laughter really is the best medicine. Blessings.

Very well said regarding the cynics being an inspiration for trying not to be like them. Personally I believe I fall in neither category. I am not vibrant of course…most of the times, I can’t even inspire myself to slog that extra mile. But I am not cynical or judgmental either…no never, I dislike judging people and believe in each to his own. I am casual in my outlook to most things in life…I believe that most things have a scheme of their own and beyond what is necessary for our daily existence, extra efforts don’t really pay off most of the time.

Hi sudiptacallingu, Thank you for commenting. I like your approach in that we should never be judgemental and we must realize that even the most positive among us have their negative moments. Blessings.

I am for the most part a vibrant person.....people who are pessimistic I have a tendency to stay away from...No I am not Pollyanna....but I figure if I wake up in the morning I have it made as I at least woke up and many people didn't do that today...I have one more day to laugh...love and be a part of the world...Pessimistic people are a drag..yes they show us what we don't want to be but they can also drag you down with their negative thoughts....I want no part of that.....that is those that are consistantly that way...everyone has a bad day now and then.

Hello there pose! I am really glad that there are mylotters like you who post discussion topics that are relevant to life.I agree with your opinion that we can learn a lot from different people whether they are optimistic or pessimistic. I believe that there is no one in this world was born by accident, for even when we were still inside our mother's womb, God has already designed His plan for us....God bless!

Good Afternoon Pose123, Intersting subject- I would think that similar to you both could be an inspiration to a person. What you aspire to or would prefer to stay away from.... I am always on the go- as most of us are, and I do try to stay focused but there are times when even the best of us will wander off the path and get mired down in something that is distressing them or their loved ones!I believe that is the nature of being human. I also believe emphatically that the rest of the lesson is to get moving again and sometimes people need a helping hand up- not a hand out. Take care, be well and happy;}

I still consider myself a vibrant person because I try my best to remain positive ,and instead of being a negative person I try to be a problem solver because I think that most things in this World have a solution ,but pessimistic people keep creating so many obstacles. I had a difficult childhood when I was growing up ,but it made me into the genuine person that I consider myself to be.

Hi Mirita, Thank you for commenting. I believe you are right in saying that most things in this world have a solution, in fact I would say all things, it's just that we haven't discovered it yet. Blessings.

There are days I am very vibrant. Those days are so wonderful. I have severe depression and may even have some bi-polar aspects. Having such days would be just fine and I need to have more and more of them. I agree that being this way can really cause some inspiration. I think that is a good idea. To consider where we are on a scale so we can catch ourselves and hopefully be more positive. Life is short.

I'm not sure what type of person I am so I can't answer this. I know I try to be a smile in other people's lives but I also know that I have a darkness to myself. *shrug* I'm not sure what to call the Who of myself. But I do know people who always light up a room and others who always seem to suck the life out of it. I'm not even sure either of them know that they are the way they are.

Hi TLChimes, Thank you for that response. You are probably like most of us in that it is almost impossible to be the same way all the time. It is however a good idea to work on being positive because we will feel better as well as spread some happiness around to cheer others. Blessings.

Pose- We're talking about the "central negative person" in a graduate class I'm taking, and we do have to acknowledge that at times there is a person who doesn't move the group forward, but takes away from it. I think in knowing this, we can then begin to analyze the person to see what it is that is stopping them from working within the group. Our discussion recently was that we all have differing personalities and at times we clash because we're unaware of the other person's differences so we don't take the time to try to see things from their point of view.If we try to see things from their point of view, we may move them from being that central negative person. I think the things I've learned from negative people in my life is how not to be like them lol. I know, sound stoo simple, but that's what I've learned. I try to find out if I am doing the same negative things, and then change. Namaste-Anora

Hi Anora, Thank you for commenting. Simple as it sounds you are no doubt right. The late Dr.Norman Vincent Peale, author of "The Power of Positive Thinking" as well as many other books, once asked a friend his "secret", as he always seemed to be happy. The man's reply was "when I awake I have two choices, I can be happy or I can be unhappy, I chose to be happy". Blessings.

One of the words my friends use to describe me is vibrant so yes I'm a very vibrant person. Infact I'm so vibrant that some people I know are sick of my vibrancy and wish I would just cool it! I think its good to be vibrant as that way even though life may suck at times but your vibrancy always brightens things up.

I would like to consider myself as a vibrant person and I try as much as I can to help others around me look at the positive things. I really enjoy that and it makes me feel better. However sometimes, I am not inspirational at all and get one of my negative moods... so that is not good at all. My general aims are to smile and be happy about today but I don't always succeed. When I do I feel that I am happy and so are the people around us. A smile is contagious and so is a negative attitude. I try to stick to the first one

well the cynic and vibrant personality battle is another ying and yang, or in otherwords the Kymatica. In most cases we all expirence a little of both. No one on this post has been able to avoid either of those traits. I say this in knowing every human has a flaw. We all judge and we all can be inspiring. Even at times observant. so my answer is both. :P
