I also missed receiving letters from the mail man. I still write letters sometimes but I just personally give them to my recipients. Since the advent of the internet, the only letters that you will receive from the mail are credit card statements hehe

i am trying to cultivate a habit of writing personal letters to friends who live abroad to make the letters more personal than an email or something. for them to know that you actually take your time to hand write something for them is amazing. and even though it costs to post its totally worth it. i keep all my letters and would like to frame them up next time in my future house. its kind of a collection for me. and when i have a letter where my friend tried to cut words out of magazines and mail it to me it was just simply brilliant. I've seen the idea before but to have some one do it for you was the most amazing feeling i had because it made me feel like i was important to him and that he took the time to do such a beautiful piece of work for me. so lets bring back the snail mail system and lets start to cultivate this habit. god bless you and your family. cheers mate.

yes, i do still write letters from time to time for my significant other. because he is a marine soldier and from time to time, they change places and they were on operation so no time for chit-chat over net though we always call everyday if time permits. and i found out that by the means of the letter i've sent him, he feel excited and happy receiving one.

I used to write letters when I was young. I don't write letters now a days. Now a days, with lots of new technologies like e-mail and sms I think very less people write letters. I think most of the people prefer to go for sms and e-mails and online chatting.

Me and my husband both still write letters, in fact, it's how we met, lol. I still like getting letters in the mail, too. And cards. I still prefer them over the electronic ones you get in the e-mail. Stamps are going up though, ugh.

I have not written any letters in my life neither oficial nor love letters because in this advance world u need to write any letters except in the rural areas where there is no other means of communication. i may not have written any letters but mother has written many letters to her brother & my uncle. But it feels really great to receive a letter from somebody.

Yeah, it would really be exciting to receive letters from friends but lately, i'm not getting any. I don't write letter anymore too. I don't there's still a need. I think because of the the internet, sending letters has taken a backseat in exchange to a faster email or instant messaging or sms. Too many good competition against letters. Though, being sentimental, nothing beats sending letters. The last time i received a letter that's written by a friend was way back 2002 from a chatmate from London. I wonder how she is doing now.

I love getting mail and still do write the occasional letter. When I was young, I had many international penpals and loved writing to them and hearing from them. My older children did the same, actually we used to have letter writing night, every Monday night. Each of us wrote at least one letter or more and I'd mail them out the next day. The kids especially loved getting replies to their letters. It is a lost art. I wish more would, but the cost of postage is so high and I know with the technology now, everyone prefers to text or send online messages because it can be done instantly and quickly. However, I still do like snail mail.

Its a lovely feeling when you receive a letter. It is still one form or endearing someone. Although, nowadays, there are lots of faster forms of letter to be received but one thing special about writing letters is the effort of choosing the words you write and the effort of making it or just setting time to buy cards to write to it.

I used to write letters to my best friend several years ago , when internet is not so prevalent. But now, I prefer to send emails ,it's much more convenience and efficient.
But I cant deny that receiving a letter is much more exciting than receiving an email. It is a pity of life to get less chances to receive letters nowadays.
