I don't know how people do it? Or how the movies make it. People can go under water with their eyes open. It is cool to be able to see things under the water, but I just couldn't get my eyes open under water. Won't the water hurt your eyes?

I can, I learn swim in my college, I start to dive underwater with eyes on after an incident. Once I open my eyes accidently in my swim class, and I found it's hurt because water isn't clean. After that, I can overcome the fear of open eyes underwater. I'd like to open my eyes under clear water and watch things.
Now the summer is coming, it's a good time for us to swim. Do you think so?
Happy everyday, Clorissa123.

I usually did that when I was young. My hometown is surroended by a rive. All of the children in our village can swim.We love it.When we swam we always played a game.Someone threwn a white stone into water and then we dived into the rive to find it.It was very funny. But after I left my hometown I hardly swim now.

I wouldn't recommend diving with your eyes open due to the impact. But you can certainly open your eyes underwater.
I can't see much when I open my eyes underwater without goggles on, but you can sort of see colors and lights. It's kind of cool but if you have chlorine in the pool your eyes will probably be red after you get out and hurt a bit. But if you just do it once or twice your eyes shouldn't hurt.

No, water does not hurt your eyes. I have been swimming under water with my eyes open for about 50 years and have never had a problem, except for a little irritation after spending long hours at the public pool when I was a teenager but that was due to the chlorine in the water. Your eyes like moisture so it's okay to open them. The next time you're in the water just dunk your head under for a second and give it a try. That's how I got my kids over their fear of opening their eyes under water. Once you try it you'll have a lot more fun swimming.

I used to have a problem getting my eyes open underwater cuz it really stung but once i did it like once or twice it didnt hurt anymore. It sting a little in ocean water and its not worth it unless the water clean but it lets you enjoy swimming at the pool a lot more

I think i need to close my eyes on the act of diving but when i'm underwater, i think i can open my eye provided the water is clean. It's pretty dangerous if there are particles that might get in our eyes so we should really be careful. It doesn't hurt really. Though it would be uncomfortable at first when you try it but you will get used to it and eventually, you will be able to see underwater. The view is great especially if you're in a clean beach water.
