Will There Be a Twilight Zone In..................

Regina, Saskatchewan

Manitoba? Those of you that have been following my little life, or corresponding with me by email, have heard me say more than once that "I live in the Twilight Zone". And it's true. I do. I'm even writing a book about my experiences here called "Prairie Life in the Twilight Zone". I've categorized my life this way because ever since I can remember, I've been a magnet for every weird and wonderful character and situation that one person can have come their way. Living in Saskat., in the town I'm in now has been no exception. In fact it's been a gold mine of people and happenings that would give Rod Serling fodder for tv shows for years to come. I MUST learn to write a good script! LOL Anyway, you all know now that I will shortly be moving to Manitoba. To a regular town with regular people. I'm terrified that my twilight zone experiences will be over. I'm afraid that I'll blend into the background of my new environment and the weird and the wonderful will pass me by. *horrors!* What do you think? Do you think I'll simply fade away as old journalists are wont to do? Or do you think that my insanity will simply find new and bizarre ways to express itself? Am I fated to always seem to be the magnet for the weird and wonderful, or is there no Twilight Zone in Manitoba?

I thought I was the only one who attracted freaks....no fear wherever there are people there is always a group or a specific individual in the town that is "special". And there are twilight zones everywhere.

Spark - strange, weird and wonderful know no boundaries. They may seem a bit more concentrated in some areas, but they are everywhere! You may well find more fodder for your story lines in the larger population than you thought possible. So - will your new house have a "proverbial white picket fence"?

Oh, you will never ever fade into the background of any town. The Twilight Zone follows you where ever you go. So when are you going to get that book finished. And how much is it going to cost? I have to start saving up my pennies so I can buy it. I also want an autographed copy. LOL

You get an autographed copy for free Royal. No worries. As to when it will be finished.........it's getting there, though it's been on hold for awhile what with the move and all.

YOU are going to make a lot of new friends and be in a house that you'll love! Then you're going to get those passports ready and come down for a visit!! All the while, you'll have another story to add to your book! So keep on writing because I'm waiting for a copy to reach the book shelf so I can tell all my wonderful friends "LOOK! I got a book written by a dear dear friend!"

Well sparks, we have not known each very long but I am pretty darn sure that there's bound to be a Twilight Zone in Manitoba and if it is a larger town you will just attract more weird and wonderful characters! You're the magnet love, they will all be drawn to you and you will tell us all about their bizarre ways and stories in your own clever and witty way because we'll be waiting!

If you're a magnet for the weird and wonderful, then you're sure to attract them wherever you go, my friend. I don't know how close to where you're going, but our mutual friend, Raia, lives in Manitoba. Wouldn't it be something if your paths crossed when you move there? It's a bit of a wrench leaving a place you've been in for a while, to go somewhere else, but you'll be ok. You've lived in Manitoba before from what I can gather, and you're the type of person who will make friends and settle in quite easily, I feel. Brightest Blessings my friend.

Saskatchewan and Manitoba are Canadian Provinces - their equivalent of our prairie states.

Spark sweety my bet is that the twilight zone will cease to exist in your current town and it will return to a normal everyday town when you leave! As for whatever town you move to in Manitoba - they better start battening don the hatches and getting ready for all the craziness it is about to be inundated with! Part of me thinks that you must create some of the events and characters we hear of but a bigger more sensible part realises that if that were true then you would be locked away in a psychiatric hospital by now! xxxx

LOL, you got me mummy! I don't create the events, but I seem to be able to tell their story in a highly individual way! LOL

I never would have believed it myself until I met sparks, mummymo, but I have seen it first hand. Truth really is stranger than fiction. And it helps that she has such a fabulous sense of humour.

Now what a silly question Sparky. You and "action" are synonymous and why should that change just because you move someplace else. If you fade away it will be because you choose to and not because Manitoba forces it upon you. Speaking personally (how else can I speak?) Manitoba is uncharted territory in a way that "Prairietown" even is not. So I for one will want to know what is happening there. Do the people have two heads and just how many diggers does it take to fill a hole there! Carry on as you always have. There's adventure everywhere.

LOL. One head on each of the four diggers. One to dig. One to supervise. One to pass the Pilsner around, and one to collect the empty bottles and turn them in for nickels! ROFL

i think no matter how "normal" the place or the people appear to be.. your presence will indeed bring out the freak in the entire lot of them. lol so no worries.. youll still have a twilight zone surrounding you.. you create it as to yer liking afterall

Dearest Sparks..... Here's the thing (well two things) you hang out here. Most of the people you call friends (and I don't mean just a regular screen name you see here and there but the real friends) have one foot in the Twilight Zone. Some of us wouldn't survive outside the Zone. And I've noticed that a person who attracts the odd (which every town has- just some hide it better) will always attract the odd. Sorry, dear-heart, you will never be free of the likes of the Zone Dwellers.

There are certainly a lot of 'zoners' here! lol So if Manitoba is boring, I'll just have to hang out on the lot more than I have been.........

Bigger town, more people..... If you ask me, you're more than likely going to be opening the "flood gates of freaky" rather than facing a dwindling supply! Especially if you're a magnet as you say you are. Buckle up sparky, the quirky train's gonna reach warp speed with a full load of passengers on board, you watch!

Hi sparky, am not sure if your move to Manitoba would stop your weird and wonderful things..as they depend on how weird and wonderful they are where you are now, also as I live in the UK it is difficult to tell, yet wherever I have moved to weird and wonderful things have always followed me so yours may continue too...littleowl

I've travelled around a lot in my life, and always found the 'weird and wonderful', so worrying about Manitoba is kinda silly for me. If it does turn out to be a dud though, I'm moving to the UK for sure, for sure!

No, I doubt you will just fade away. You seem to just have the energy and personality for these 'twilight zone experiences'. *I want some!* It sounds as if you have an exciting and highly marvelous imagination as well as good vibes to pick up on things others may not even notice. That is great! It is who you are and just because you have moved to a new place and environment doesn't mean you will not still have the same experiences in your life.

Love and hugs. Tamara xxxxx

Hey sparks! I am quite sure that wherever you go you will find some kind of Twighlight Zone! I have complete faith in you that you will find some strange characters even in your new environment! If you don't find them, they will find you! You know that you have that knack! Don't you worry now! How does your beautiful and faithful doggy feel about this being uprooted? Is there a paws up or paws down?
