Smoking while Driving...

I think it can- certainly while you're trying to light up and in some states they are pushing to make it illegal and I think there is a state or two where it is already illegal to smoke with your children in your car.

I don't think people should smoke while driving. I think that smoking is a relaxing thing to do for people and you really should not be relaxing while you are driving - you should be paying attention to the road and to potential hazards around you. Also, it makes the car smell just awful and ruins any resale value when you are done with your car and ready for a new one! [i][b] Have a great day and happy myLotting!!![/b][/i]

i think smoking while driving should be banned as well... it is so dangerous and it can reduce your concentration on the road as well... i really don't like it when i see people smoking while driving their cars... and i see it a lot everyday... i hope they will make it illegal to smoke while driving to make the street even safer... take care and have a nice day...

Hi there bloglog, We shouldn't smoke while driving, it will burn the leather sit and make the car smell awful, and the drive not concentrate on the road.. may be when the car stop and parking at side of save road without children and alone, he or she can smoke as they want.. I think it can be just as dangerous as driving and talking on a cell phone, if not more so. No matter what a person is smoking, whether it is a legal substance or not, it shouldn't be legal to smoke while driving. Though at the same time, smoking tends to calm ones nerves, so if it were to become law and smokers weren't allowed to smoke while driving (which can be quite nerve racking at times) there may be a lot more road rage out there than there already is. Here in California it is illegal to smoke with minors in a car. Though I've seen people do it anyway. Personally I think this law is flawed because people will only get ticketed for it if pulled over by a cop for another reason first, like speeding.

well i think it is not banned from others, but it is banned to smoke in public here in the country, most especially in the metro manila, and while riding public vehicles. i guess it will also cause you to lose your focus.

I think it is very bad to drive while smoking because it can cause accidents. I think a person should not be allowed to drive while smoking because it is injurious to people who are with them. I also think cell phones should also not be allowed while smoking. I do think that concentration of the person can be lost to some extend while he is driving.

No I don't feel that smoking will make me not concentate on the road. I have had one accedent and guess what I wasn't smoking when I had it. Maybe if I had been I would of never hit the guy. You drink and eat and people have dvd players and tvs and all that in there cars. Now that to me is a big no no. don't mess with something that is paying for the highway and schools. Yes, I think smoking while driving is dangerous. If someone smoking pass through a petroleum truck and there is leak. Some kind of fire will happen. It will also affect the concentration on the road. While someone try to remove the ashes on the tip, some particles might go to the eyes.

I don't think so. I know there is a big movement about smokers in our society, but I don't see this as a reason to hamper your driving ability. I've seen people reading, curling their hair (yes there are batter operated curling irons), putting on make up and even a person about ready to crawl over the back seat to wack a kid. Those things are more dangerous because you can't keep your eyes on the road. Smoking is just good hand eye coordination. Never met a smoker yet that poked an eye out smoking as they're going down the highway because they didn't 'look' at it.

if theres a child in the car smoking isn't cool But if your smoking in the car and you are a smoker its not going to consiously affect you because just like eating or sleeping its become a part of your daily pattern so i feel smoking in a car is no distraction. if it was people would be swerving around all day.I think its just fine rofl
