Today I seldom buy the books from the bookstore. I like to buy via the net because it is much more convenient to sit in front of the computer and select the books from it. There are many books online and I can see the feedback from readers. So I can judge whether it's a good book for me or not. And the price is cheaper to buy via the net than from the normal bookstore.

so far, i always buy my books from the store and haven't bought online yet as they charge quite a lot for postage and handling which i'm not willing to pay... i also like to shop around and see the book first before spending my money to buy it... so online shopping does not really suit me... i love reading too and i collect quite a lot of books by now... take care and have a nice day...

I love Amazon.com, especially when get gift certificates, and I almost always get books from there. I'd like to save up to get a Kindle, so I can download electronic books from the site.

Hi youless, I rarely buy books via internet. If I come to know any good books that worth to read, I would mark down the titles, as well as the authors of the books. I usually will save them in my cellphone. The books are either recommended by my friends or readers of the magazines.
When visiting the nearby bookstore I would like to look for the wanted books. I read the preface or the introduction of it first before buying it. I have registered as member of the bookstore. I could enjoy the offer of 15% discount on each book purchased
If I wish to read any book recommended keenly I will then visit the bookstore immediately. I know if booking online I have to wait for a few days I then could get the favorite book.
Happy posting and have a nice day.

Hello youless,
I still go to the bookstore to get my books. There is a shop here which sells second hand books where the price is half of the new book. I used to go there like twice a month. I seldom do online transaction as I don't have a credit card on my own.

I usually buy books from my college bookstore. I know you can get it off cheaper on the net. but the books are available right there for me to buy so I just head off to my bookstore. sometimes I buy it from shakespeare and company since my professor ordered it from there. I like it get my books right there and then. I don't like to wait and so that's why I buy it from my college bookstore. i think they are associated with barnes and nobles.

I buy my books from the Book shops only.I usually go to the local Landmark bookshop.Buying book itself is an experience for me.I like to browse through the collections in the shelves. And I never borrow or lend books and never buy the second hand ones too.I always like the fresh smell of the new books. It is like a fantastic appetizer before a great dinner.

I like buying book on book bazaar here in our city. Just recently i luckily got a very nice cook book which is really nice, simple and very rich in content. I was really happy to get it first for the price of 35 pesos which equivalent only for less than $1. You can see the picture on my blog site on my profile. I post it there. Actually there are lots of good books there. All books are cheaper and well take care of and i will visit again there next week and buy another book that i would like.

Paperback books: I shop for books in thrift stores in order to save myself some money, and since I have a discount card, I also shop for books at Books-A-Million, a store full of books, magazines, and other literary things fictional and non-fictional. However, since i'm running out of room in my room for books, i'm more selective and picky when it comes to them.
Electronic books: I don't shop for books online unless it's not only in my price range, but also serves a useful purpose. I bought a few books at Amazon.com and eBay.com, but not anymore since i'm looking for digital editions that I can download for free and save some space in my room.

I love going to the bookstore to buy my books because I can't wait for the books to be shipped if I buy through the internet. I am in the Philippines, and I frequent Powerbooks and Fully Booked to buy my books.

really? I have never tried buying books online, because one, i don't own a credit card and two, i don't really find it as easy? as going into a bookstore and buy my book. Besides, you could always rent them ;) But yea, i agree it would be cheaper online...If only i had a credit card or something. haha

I love buying books at Barnes and Noble. Not sure if it's just a Arkansas thing, but they have the best and largest book selection we could ask for in Arkansas. Although I still like to buy books from my home on the Web from Amazon and some others.

Mostly from a normal bookstore, but it is usually very expensive.
I some times go to a flea market for old books. They are very cheap and I think it worth.
I tried to buy books from Dangdang.com,I 'm satisfied for it.
Buying books via internet is another kind of convenience:you can find books which is not easy to be found in a bookstore.

Books are so expensive to purchase in the shops, so I prefer to buy books online from Amazon or Ebay. Although I have to admit most of my books I actually borrow from the library, you get 3 weeks for each book and you can extend them if you wish, it saves me a fortune, especially when I was studying.

I am a member of a couple of Canadian points programs that allow me to earn points when shipping through Amazon, Barns & Noble, Borders, and Chapters.ca so whenever I need a book, I will order it through one of my points affiliate programs, from one of those above mentioned websites.

I can't bring myself to pay bookstore prices- for a while money was really tight in our family, so expensive book store books were just a luxury. Then when I saw how much cheaper I could find them online or at the library, and they were just as good, I was hooked. Luckily our financial situation is much, much better now, but some habits stick with you!

I agree. I like to order my books from Amazon.com. I like that they have all the regualr types available and you can usually get used ones for alot less. I haven't been in a regular bookstore in years. I recall having to order them at the store anyway alot of times and it taking quite awhile to get them so I have gotten used to waiting for any books I order.
