Actually once you get used to it, then you will feel nothing much different. Windows Vista is good too. The trend is Microsoft will no longer support WinXP soon, so we need to learn and get used to Windows Vista.
Anyway, make sure your hardware is sufficient to run Windows Vista. If you have less than 3GB RAM, I think Windows XP is still the choice.

I have been using XP for more than 5 years and I'm not having problems with it.. then I tried installing vista last month and I found that it's really bulky and really have slow performance.. It eats certain percentage of your RAM to share as video memory that's why you can see Vista looks good but that's not I'm looking for.. I always seek for performance and not the eye-candy..

I have always used Windows XP too, but the laptop that my father bought for me is in Windows Vista and I find it just fine except lately that I have been having problems in the operating system and when I searched it in the internet, it is a common problem in Windows Vista. I would love to switch back to Windows XP sometime soon.

I prefer to use Windows XP much more because I am familiar with it. Besides, Windows Vista has a higher requirement for the computer. If your computer isn't good enough, it will slow down your computer. And there are still lots hardware and software support Windows XP rather than Windows Vista. So I don't want to upgrade it to Vista.

Hi med889,both are good in features. But,I always prefer Windows XP to Windows Vista.Because I think I in Vista no such interesting features have been added than XP.It only looks good and that is the only utility. So,for me XP is far better and more efficient.

Hello bumba, thats really a long time, how are you doing? Anyways as you said Xp is more reliable and I prefer it to Vista . Vista is slow and pop-ups are really irritating and the permissions they ask you everytime are so boring and a waste of time so Xp Hail to you;-)

I generally don't mind Windows Vista. I'm not convinced that Vista is as bad as some uninformed people say it is (although User Access Control is a tool of Satan whether it is turned on or off)
I run Vista on my laptop with XP Pro in a virtual machine with VMware for those times when Vista won't do, so I get along.
I would quite like Microsoft to get away from a business model of operating systems (release one every two-three years) and just nail one properly and then build on it in a modular way, with the ability to move modules in and out as technology improves.

Vista can be good too and I am still using Vista in my laptop but I prefer Xp because maybe I am used to it and now with all the new features with Vista I find it bulky and quite of slow too. Now we have to wait for the windows 7 to know what is new with windows in general;-)

if vista was suppose to be so good then why is he junking it for windows 7 in aug-09?cause it was a dog!a real peice of crapola, that had 572 holes in it upon release.95 and 98 were better than vista could ever be.they should make him give everyone that he screwed by forcing it upon them a refund.

I use XP for my computer at work and personal laptop. Vista makes computer ran slow (unless you add up extra memory which is no need if you use XP). Vista also full with support of application and notification that I find not useful. Totally not recommended!

I prefer Windows XP, I find it to suit my needs better, I dont need all the fancy bells ansd whistles of Vista, it is a waste of memory that could be used on more important things. Vista looks great and some great features, but todays average computer just cant handle Vista, it requires too much processing power. Vista is about 5years too early.

I have windows XP on my desktop and Vista on my laptop i never had problem with both in terms of usage, speed, etc. Vista may take a while to get used to but if PC specs. allows it then its fine with me. But if im going to use it to an old system then i prefer installing XP.

I have Windows XP on my computer since I'm well adapt of its features though I still want to try Vista for a change. It is better to try the two OS to have better comparisons. I guessed Vista would not be as popular as Windows XP, many are still using XP even though Vista has been around for quite sometime now. Besides, I don't have a friend who uses Vista that I could asked for a Vista installer.

I'm utterly indifferent to it. My work computer uses XP, my home one Vista. My laptop uses XP pro, which is a bastardised hybrid of the two.
It's really like trying to choose the most comfortable medical examination; there's always going to be some unpleasantness involved, and moments of awkward silence. But if they get the job done, I could care less.
My palmtop uses the Symbian/EPOC OS however, which considered it's around ten years old, beats the lot into the ground.

well, window Xp takes up less memory and hard disk and it is rapid and oporate good, but now I am using windows Vista in my laptop,I can see that Vista is good except it takes too much memory and hard disk, and some older softwares can not be accepted by Vista, that's not very convenient to use

I prefer XP. It's much easier to use. Although I think Vista systems seem to run faster. But I recently bought a laptop from walmart that has Vista installed on it. I do not like the newer features. I find the orginization confusing. And everything is also named differently. It was very hard for me to find the controls and such the very first few days that I had it. I've only had it for about 2 months now. I am little better with it. But I have renamed everything because it gets so aggrivating. Ah, well what can you do. I didn't pay much for it anyway, and I only use it for school. So it all works out for me.
