Sometimes, I sat on a chair too long, I uncontrollably shaking my leg vibrantly. I don't know why I did it. I just lost control of my leg, my body, and make my leg keep on shaking. I noticed some of my co - workers, and friends did the same too. Is it our habit or just some normal body reaction to sitting still for too long?

I sometimes do this and it's embarrassing when someone notices it. LOL I don't shake both legs...just one of them. What I do is cross my legs instead to stop it from shaking. I think my leg has a mind of its own everytime it does that. haha I know a lot of people does this without their knowledge. I've never done this though when wearing a dress or skirts...only with jeans or pants. That's funny.

Clorissa, I dont have this habit, but I know alot of women and men with this habit while sitting or standing. I know alot of them picked this up from being very active in sports, modeling, taking dance lessons, & cheerleading. I think its very attractive when women do this.

clorissa I do not wait to alarm you but I noticed none of the other responders thought to ask you if you had seen your family doctor about this. to me it does not seem a bit normal.I would
get a total checkup as this can be a symptom of multiple sclerosis or ALS disease so get checked so you will know you are'
perfectly healthy.

hhahaha that is funny!!! I think it is a kind of manirism... I am also doing that sometimes. But when my classmates when I was in College said, it is not good for a woman to keep on shaking their legs,,, hahaha I was able to control it. Yes, there are many people I know that keep on shaking their legs. I don't really know what is the reason behind that. Maybe that is just a normal body reaction.

I do that sometimes, I just can't help it. Not both leg, just one at a time. Usually, I do that when I am bored and can't fall asleep (ie: in a meeting, watching boring show with someone, yet I can't tell him/her it's boring) so I unconsciously shake one of my leg. It work though but only for a short while, I still asleep after that.

I don't but my boyfriend does. He does it almost non-stop and it drives me crazy insane. I will tell him to stop and he doesn't even realize he is doing it. It drives me the nuts most if we are lying in bed watching a movie. The whole bed is shaking just because of his wacky legs.
