Some times the truth hurts and we have to accept that. The fact that some one lies just to make you feel better??? That's bull. Think about when you find out that person lied are you still gonna be smiling??? I thought not. Truth all the way. Whats the point of lyin'?

It does depend on the consequences of the lie I guess but I firmly believe that telling the truth is always the best thing to do. My motto is 'do unto others' so I know I would hate being lied to; I would feel like I was taken for a fool so I would not feel right lying to another person. Life is not black and white though and it would depend on circumstances as well. Truth is best most of the time.

i would say that even if it brings a tear the truth would be better as your heart will be free from the load of carrying the truth........... if the person is someone who is special to you let it be the truth always....... i would prefer the truth in every scenario.....

As much as the truth can hurt I believe it is better to know and hear the truth than to lie. The truth should be given in love and understanding not with the motive to hurt. It may hurt for a bit maybe even a lot but how else can we learn and grow. Today my employee told me she felt I was not walking the standard that I was expecting others to walk. I may not have liked hearing it but I did want to hear the truth. I want to improve not stay the same.

simple! truth + lie = tears truth + truth = tears lie + lie = tears [when you've found out the truth] truth + truth = BETTER! Same things happens so why lie? lol

They both suck. Some will say that honesty is better, but I think there are some that use "honesty" as an excuse to hurt people.

I would think that the truth would always be better in my book. Even if it makes me cry it is still the truth. I can't stand lies period.

For me, it's better to know the truth no matter how painful it is. Lies may cause you to smile for sometime, but the sad truth is, knowing that you are lied after all will double the pain.

The truth that draws a tear. There's nothing worse than being lied to; and I HATE when people try "protecting" others from the truth - as it usually hurts us MORE when we find out that we were first lied to.

hihi...everyone will definitely prefer to know the truth, who will want to listen to lies... but sometimes lies are not always that bad... if a lie can draw a smile, if a lie can make someone happy, if a lie can make someone feel better, if a lie can make things less complicated, why not? if the truth will draw a tear, if the truth will make someone sad, if the truth will make someone feel sad, if the truth will complicate matters, then why say the truth? afterall, i would like to say, the lies may hurt, but the truth may hurt even more..

As the cliche goes: The truth will set you free. I prefer getting the real deal even if I am bound to get hurt. It will only take a while and after that I do not have a choice but to move on and learn from the experience. A lie that draws a smile will still end with tears.
