Cleaning house

It's funny you've started this discussion, because I just did the same kind of housecleaning yesterday. I have kept only people whose names I recognize and can remember well from various discussions on here. For the last 2 years since I returned, I was adding anyone who put in a request... but no more of that for me!

I check in everyday on my friends to see if they are still active. I give them more time just in case they are Blah so have to give them that. I have only deleted three people and they are no longer logging in to mylot or doing anything so bye. And I have been thinking on a few like they never respond to a discussion that I have started. Not one and I don't start that many as I'm busy responding most days. Or when I get blah. I need to clean house maybe. But I don't think so for now. I have to help with the garden. i am with you. i need to do this every so often. what i need to do is get of some unresolved discussions. i dont always have time to do this but i really should!

Oh man, I thought by the title of your discussion that you were going to offer to hire yourself out to do house cleaning. hahaha It has been a while since I have gone through my friends list. The ones I took out then were ones that had not signed in to mylot in a very very long time. I might need to do that again sometimes soon.

I haven't gotten around to doing the Spring cleaning in my friends list yet. I have noticed that some of the members in my list are no longer active and appear to have left the community. It's high time that I look through things, check profiles and make the necessary adjustments. Thanks for the reminder. Cheers.

Good to see you back! Knew you'd miss us...lol. I've thought about going through my friends list, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Mostly I'd remove the friends who didn't seem active anymore. Then I think, well if they come back, I wouldn't know it...so I end up leaving them there. A good friend lost her account because although she had a rating of 10, many of her discussion didn't ask a question. I guess that's against the rules. How is your garden coming along?

I don't do this anywhere near as often as I should. The last time I went through my friend's list and culled it a bit was probably around 2 to 3 months ago and I've maybe done this only 4 times since I joined almost 3 years ago. I really do wish they were able to make it an easier process too because it's quite time consuming to be checking each one individually. Allowing us to see instantly whether someones been active or not would be a good start. They should also automatically remove any person from our lists that's cancelled their account because I found heaps of names in my list that were long gone already.

I have not cleaned out my list. I have never taken anyone off of it. I hope things will be better and I am sorry that there have been problems. I am adding friends and hope to make more. Have a wonderful day!

It's been quite a while since I cleaned out my list. I usually delete the ones that haven't responded to my discussions or haven't posted anything of their own for a long time. I have some people on there that I just can't bring myself to delete in hopes that they will pop in eventually. I know I need to do it sometime soon though. I'm having a hard enough time keeping up as it is. LOL

I have not cleaned in a while, but maybe I should do it. I was careful one other time, but it seems that my singing and my political and moral interest conflict with each other so do not know what to do. The last time, I did it was over a year ago, and that was because I got so many negatives from one person and her minions. She did not like me being a Bible believing Christian and saying that somethings were wrong. And she was not willing to say that she did not believe as I did, but she would not hold it against me. I believe I was called narrow=minded, racist, bigot. I still have not gained those points back.

I did it about a week ago. I had some that were there since I started on mylot and they had less then a 100 posts....so I knew they wouldn't be coming back....I did it just to keep my list updated.

I have never gone through the whole list, but I have done some weeding out in the past. Glad to see I was not one you weeded out, seeing as I got this in an email.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Been missing you! I know you have been doing alot of time on Facebook! I am jealous! I really need to do the same thing! I have way too many friends on my list that I know are no longer here or that don't bother with me when I start a discussion (like today)! So I have decided that it is time for me to do the same thing! I have been here almost a year now! It will be a year in June! I can't believe how time flies! You were one of my very first friends here and I will always treasure our friendship! I feel very close to you and Minnie and your family even though we have never met! I havent had time to go through my mylot friends list yet...as it is I havent been on mylot that much in April and didnt even make payout because of it....LOL I think it would be neccesary to do every couple months just to stay on top of it...like maybe 3 times a year....and I have been here now for 4 months so it is something I am going to have to make time for. thanks for starting this discussion it is something I will have to do.....happy mylotting.

You just made me feel special. I got this in my email so that must mean that I am still considered a friend, just teasing you. Every now and then I will go thru my friend list and delete some. I don't need lots of friends, I am happy getting to know the ones I have. I hope your "house cleaning" helps with the troubles that you were having.

Hello GrandPa Bob! Nice to meet you! I want to ask you question, how do you know if you are rated negatively?. Can you help me to know that? I have not been deleting anyone on my list, did you happen to know who gave you a negative rating?

Welcome back. I cleaned house, as you put it, just a couple weeks ago. I did it because there were a lot of people there who weren't active, others that had asked to be added but didn't contribute to any of my discussions.

I know exactly what you mean Grandpa Bob!! But you know, it doesn't hurt them one bit for you to be gone for how ever long but it does hurt you and your friends!! I just asked Minnie about you and how you were doing and where you went because I haven't seen you for a while! I was starting to worry. Ok, to answer your question, I cleaned house about three or more months ago and I think I need to again.

I cleaned house last time you reminded me by cleaning your own house! I don't have time to do it this week but I have a lot of friends that I never hear from so I think I should do so when I get a few minutes. I wonder who would rate you negatively? It's against the rules to rate someone negatively unless they post something that doesn't contribute to the discussion.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, Nice to see you back here, I don't blame you doing that as I have done that earlier this month, some of them have not been active for a long time so whats the point of keeping them/ hope you are ok. Tamara
