I remember one certain episode in batman that he perceived to have been dreaming coz he can't read, so he defeated the illusion and was able to wake up. Studies show, and I'm quoting that dreaming occurs in the right brain and reading in the left brain. I can't understand how could this happen... coz I can literally read in my dream. They say its a rare ability, and some say they occur only to left-handed people. I'm not sure though.
There's a lot of situation during my sleep when I know that I'm dreaming. I woke up early one morning and I was reading a book until I fall asleep. I know that I was dreaming so I tried to move but I can't so I tried to read the text in the book that I have left opened and was able to read the text and remember it when I woke up. Im not sure if that's a nightmare either. But can you read in your dream?

Hi pickoy,
I become to be remembered some years ago, I ever dream about reading a book. It's happened in me about 3 or 4 times. I didn't know whats the title. It's typed with strange characters.
Yes, the text character on the book in my dream usually so strange one, but which I surprise is that I can understand what's they mean.

I've done some research after posting and the experts say that we really can't read in the dream we thought we do but we don't. It's our subconscious memory that makes us know what the words are. At times they don't make sense and the letters are juggled coz the part of the brain that can can read is not functioning while we're dreaming. Actually when I read in my dream it changes when I look at it closely. I'm not familiar with lucid dreaming but i can control the outcome of every dream i have.

I don't know about reading in a dream, but I have cried in a dream & then woke up with tears coming down my cheeks. Also one night I was asleep & was smiling in my sleep. My husband was watching me sleeping & woke me up to ask what I was smiling about, LMAO!!! I told him I guess it was because I was happy.
