Do you like to be called Mrs. ABC or just your name after you get married? Do you feel happy or proud to be called that way? Or you don't care either way?

I think we like the Mrs. tag after we're first married. I don't know, I did. I just made me feel good. Can't explain it. That pretty much wore off when my children brought home friends and they called me Mrs. - I felt like 100 years old. I asked them to call me by my first name. One boy had trouble - out of respect - he was such a lovely boy, but in the long run after you've had kids you want to feel as young as you can!!! LOL

I really don't mind being called either way - Mrs so-and-so or by my maiden name. It's just that it was tedious to change my name to adopt my hubby's when we got married so I have been using my maiden name. It kind of perplexed French people especially when dealing with banks and such because over there, the name change is automatic upon marriage. So on French bank accounts, I'm know as "Mrs (my maiden name) (hubby's surname)". In Switzerland however, it's not a big deal so I get to keep my maiden name. Here's the catch. When we go to the hospital for antenatal check ups, they always call my hubby "Mr (my family name)" which is funny!

Hi. My name is actually quite cool and hence I like being called by my real name. But if to be called otherwise I would call myself Mr.Cool.

I like my first name too, I don't care if people calls me Mrs. or not because my hubby doesn't care at all.

I usually like my first name to be used by adults. All the kids around call me austins mom or cody's mom lol. I dont think they should call an adult by there first name anyhow. Seems to familiar or disrespectful to me. I was raise either you call the mrs. abc or mam. But my dad was a marine for all of his working career so was kind of strick.

I prefer to be called by my first name. I just think it is less formal. I am not married so to my kids friend it can be confusing since we have different last names. Sometimes they call me by my childrens last names and I will still respond, but I when I do I tell them to please just call me by my first name.

I don't really mind if they call me Mrs. ABC or by my name. But I do find the first one to be a bit too formal for me. For those who know me when I was still single, I use my maiden surname-my husband's surname, that is, if I have to write my complete name. I usually do that for business contacts.

Hello mermaidivy, I love to be married and when people call me "Mrs. .... " , I feel so much joy inside. I love to be known as the wife to the man that I love Whenever people ask me on how to address myself, I will gladly tell them to refer me as "Mrs. ...."

I like being Mrs. ABC, because it associates me with my husband, it says we belong to each other and I am part of a couple. I also like to be called Mrs. at that kids school, because it shows we are all part of a family. Being called a Mrs. means I belong to and committed to my husband. Of course after I get to know a person then of course it is more comfortable if they call me by my first name.

Hi mermaid...The first time I was called by my married name I was startled and didn't know who the person was speaking to. But now I've gotten used to it and don't look around to see who the Mrs. is...and I really don't have a preference but I am happy and proud to be married to my husband.

I used to be proud to be called Mrs ABC but anymore I would much rather have people call me by my first name I am (and have been for a long time) either Mrs ABC or child ABC's mother I dont seem to have an identity of my own, I am but an extension of someone else I want to be ME again
