Were you ever really attached to a sibling?

Copy everything they did? Did you look up to them? My son seems to truly be attached to his big sister. At almost 5 months old he hardly takes his eyes away from her when she is in a room. She unlike any other commands his attention. He even cries when she is out of his sight. We are sitting here watching a classic Disney movie. And his eyes are stuck on her. If this continues, I hope she sets a good example. LOL!!

My mother says that my little sister is a monkey see monkey do type of person so if she sees or hears us doing things she has to try it also. It is so cute at that age isn't it..just wait till he is walking and he wants to follow her everywhere and does so by holding on to her shirt tails..it is cute but can be frustrating for other kids since sometimes they call it being bugged..Your daughter is great and I am sure she will teach him well and on how to be a good kid too.

It is like my puppy and me, he is very attched to me, whereever I'm in the house, he wants to follow me, when I work in the front yard or back yard, he wants to be with me. He feels very unhappy if he cannot see me anytime. I think he will never get me out of his sight when I'm home so sometimes I wonder if he cries a lot when I go out.

that is so sweet! maybe he likes her movements? I was not so attached to my sibbling - maybe rebelled from him was more like it. my youngest though has always very much drawn to her elder brother... wanting to be like him wanting to please him seeking his attention... she even goes so far as to resemble him in features.

All my younger siblings look up to me for everything, not to boast but it seems I'm the one with the brains in the family. That is why I am the one always looking after them, I don't regret it though and I'm proud of it. When They need advice or just a word of comfort they come to me with almost every concern they have for life. And I love them very much. I don't see the same closeness with the siblings of my other friends. I guess its because they have both parents around, we grew up with just our mom so me being the big brother stood as the Dad for the younger kids. I hope that I won't disappoint them though. :)

Emmm, yes, we are two brother and since childhood, we used same color shirts and pants. It wasn't until we became 15, we used to share the same clothes. Well, I don't hav any problem with that now also but my younger brother is more possessive towards his cloth. Reason may be that I take little less care for my clothes while he is a little delicate when it comes to wear clothes.
Till FEbruary we used same model shoe but now he has bought a new one which I use sometimes because the model is very good.

Well, studies have shown that babies are more attracted to beautiful faces and stare at them longer, so maybe you just have a very beautiful daughter! That aside, my (2 years) older brother and I were very close growing up, I don't think I tried to copy him that much.... but he never tried to exclude me or anything.

My sister and I are best friends and other than my own children, she is the most important person in my life and I am sure she would say the same for me. We are very attached and it would be very difficult for me to function normally without her. She is my rock, sound board, biggest supporter, and the only person that I trust unconditionally. I am glad that we have that bond together.

Yeah I had a brother that was 3.5 years older than me and for a while I did or tried to do everything that he did. Then we sort of split. I was really young probably 3 or 4th grade when I thought he was cool LOL. Believe me it wore off quickly. I just became annoying and then he would beat me up or spit luigis on me so I began to hate him for a while. Then as we got adults we come back together. What fun times I can remember.

I have a twin sister & we are very close. On our first day of Kindergarten they put us in separate classes wanting us to make other friends, be our own little person. It was very hard on me & I cried so hard they had to take me into her class to calm me down. We didn't get along too well as teenagers but she was the first to get married & move out & we became closer than ever. We have 2 brothers & another sister whom we are not close with at all, really don't know them...they are 6, 7, & 9 years older so that doesn't help. I think that's pretty sad myself. Hopefully your children will become very close & stay that way...there's nothing like it.
