Yes, a long time ago I helped out at a Catholic Charity that helped gather clothes for ppl. They also helped on paying heat bills or other necessary bills if they needed it. They had trailors also set up to help out those that lost their homes due to whatever circumstance that hit the family. I used to help sort the clothes and find the right sizes for certain families.

I donate all my obsolete clothes to Oasis. I have also done volunteer work for the National Aviation Museum in Canada, and a small local museum, Cystic Fibrosis, The Lung Association, Travellers Aid and most recently at an organization that provides dinners three times a week for the homeless. Right now I am lazy but I will look for another volunteer opportunity in the new year. I find when I give something of myself the satisfaction I get is great.

I volunteered at a hospital when I was around 17. It was to take care of seniors that lived there. I also volunteered at some events such as the dragon boat festival when I was around 18 as well.

I use to volunteer for my daughter's school. I redesigned their website. It was a lot of fun, but it was also much more time consuming that I anticipated.

No, but I always want to. It's just that I never find time to. There's always something going on, I don't even have time for me anymore.

When my kids were in elementary school and I was being a stay-at-home mom, I volunteered to work at the school. I worked one day a week for the entire school year helping a 4th grade teacher. She had me doing oral book reports with the kids for the Pizza Hut Book-It reading program. It would have taken her hours and hours of class time to do what I did. I also made some bulletin board displays for her. It was fun, but then I went to work and haven't volunteered again since.

I have volunteered at an event at a primary school for mentally disabled kids once, and I volunteered at a book market on a regular primary school. Other than that I haven't been able to do much, even though I wish I could. I once tried to volunteer at a second hand store, but I had to be present at so many different times that were hard for me to keep up with (due to college, etc), so I haven't been able to manage that. If there were more loose rules about being present it would be easier, even though they want some security too.. I understand that. I love the volunteer work you did! Was that a one time thing or a regular thing?

Yes, I have done volunteer work at two different places. One at the MS Society and helps people with multiple schlerosis and I also did volunteer work for my current employer before they hired me. My company provides clerical training for people with disabilities who want to work in an office environment.
