No there are no swine flu in my area and hope it stays that way.I hope it don't get to our schools here because it is almost time for them to be closing and they have already missed two weeks because of the ice storm we had.Of couse I don't want the kids to get sick after school closes either.

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope those children will recover soon. I am from Guangzhou which is nearby Hong Kong. And there is a confirmation case which is from a Mexican and the people who live in that hotel have to be isolated right now. Besides, this Mexican flied to Shanghai and then flied to Hong Kong. Some people who in the same plane have been to my city. So we have to keep alert to it.
I love China

Hi moneymommy...yes I live very close to where the first 4 reported cases in canada were. All are doing fine, none had to be hospitalized or anything but now there are 6 more in the same area. They all attend the same school and had been to mexico.
I wonder who is the swine that started this flu anyways.
Theres nothing to worry about if we follow common sense, dont go to mexico, stay away from people who have been, wash our hands regularly, and do anything else we would normally do to avoid the flu.
Its just that Mexico is such a popular tourist destination, cheap prices and nice places, that people from all over the world go there. Now because there is a flu there, they are bringing it back with them. I think it states in the border rules, no flu please!!!

In our state we have thirteen confirmed cases of the swine flu as of today. They are all in one county. A group of private high school students had gone to Mexico before the out break of swine flu was on the news. The school was shut down from Fri shunt next Tuesday. Parents went into the school and sanitized every thing. None of those people had to be hospitalized.

I think they are up to 40 cases state wide and the majority are in the next county over. They have shut down 7 schools til further notice in that county. I"m having my kids and myself wash our hands like crazy trying to cover our tushies and keep this flu away from us.

I haven't heard of any cases in the local area yet, but I have read in the local paper that there are cases in the cities to north and south of the small city I live in. These cites are about 25 to 30 miles away.
One case was from a lady that had visited Mexico with a friend back in April. the friend was tested negative. I don't know how the other one contracted the disease.
So far I haven't heard of any school closings.

hello moneymommy
yes, we have had three cases of the swine flu here in the Tennessee area in which that i live. and all three of the cases have been small children here also. one case of the swine flu here was a school child, thank god, it wasn't in one of the schools where that my children goes. i have been making them wash their hands a hundred times a day here lately. i sure do not want that flu bug near here. it sure is a weird time of the year, to be having the flu spread like it is doing.
take care and have a beautiful day today!

Fortunatly we haven't got swine flu where I live in the UK, but it has hit Scotland the Middlelands and other places, apparently though children are meant to be more susceptible to it! To me I would of thought that it would be elderly people that would be...LoLo

Hi moneymommy...Thankfully no. But we are still taking precautions as you should do also. I don't want my child to be ill at all, nevermind contract something which could be dangerous. I wish you only health for you and your family.

I don't think there have been any cases reported around here. The schools are being proactive and cautious, though. I just hope we don't get it in this area. I got a message from one of my mylot friends yesterday, informing me of the symtoms and everything. It sounds very scary. Have a good one and happy mylotting! Kathy.

Evryone here is freaking out about thinken that its gonna become a huge pandemic and kill evryone im not to worried though im just gonna keep my 4 month old daughter away from people and evrything will be fine im not worried about getting it cause ill be fine if i do i get the flu almost evry year and have survived so it wont be any different this year.
