Growing radishes

May 2, 2009 7:01am CST
Last year I tried growing veg in my back garden. Yes, I tried to do it organically mainly because of the fact that the shops are charging so much more for organic veg and I now know why. Due to opening a slug and snail cafe last year, they were even eating my tomatoes, I had hardly any veg out of my garden, it was all being eaten as soon as it showed itself above ground. I tried netting and copper tape but neither seemed to work. The one thing that got me really angry though, was the fact that I was able to eat only two radishes, that was all that was left by raiding rabbits or squirrels on the night shift. I was actually thinking of camping out there, next to the radishes, with a gun but I don't think the organic, humane society would be too pleased with me. Can anyone offer me any help

Well, your profile doesn't say if you're male or female so I can only say have a man pee around your garden every couple of days. It really does work, I got my boys to cooperate with me and they kept the rabbits out of my flower garden! So I think it will work with vegetables.

O.K, then...... I haven't heard about this one before. My 11 year old son will be quite happy to help I'm sure. I will update my profile at the minute. Thanks for the help.

My garden (years ago) hardly got any radishes, too. I got about five of them, and they were absolutely TINY! I don't know what I did wrong. I now have a window sill garden and no backward, so I am focusing more on growing herbs and things that grow well indoors.
