Hi chimrani,
Over my side, ATMs are almost everywhere.
I won't say you can walk anywhere for 2 minutes then hit an ATM but at least ATMs are located at general places of congregations. At those "central" places, there will usually be some ATMs.
We have different banks here of course and the ATMs may not belong to the bank you bank with. Tough luck then.
Anyway if you bank with the more popular banks, then it suffices to say that it should be easy enough for you to get to an ATM to withdraw money.
I don't think many people withdraw money from over the bank counter anymore. Besides a card is easier to bring along than a bank book (which is being phased out by the bank - I think they are trying to discourage bank book-based accounts).

Given the condition, I would like to use ATM but if I have forgotten my password then I will have no choice but to go to the bank and use my checkbook to withdraw money.
I hate to wait to get my money in my pocket from my account. Usually it takes 10-15 minutes to withdraw money using checkbooks.
Thank you.

I don't keep much cash on me at all as I use my ATM card to pay in shops. I too don't like standing in line inside the bank to get some cash so I prefer to withdraw from the ATM. It's just down the road from me too and so handy ![](/Content/images/emotes/wink.gif)

Yes that's what I do too. It all works fine - unless the voice tells me that there is nothing left to withdraw ![](/Content/images/emotes/cry.gif)

If they don't charge me a fee for withdrawal, I'll go to the ATM if it's in a safe location. If I need cash, though, I usually get it when I'm buying groceries with my debit card--never my credit card, as they charge interest on cash advances!

Our banks charge for everything they can! They charge a fee to have a checking account and a savings account, for phone calls you make to them, for cashing checks--they are even charging unemployed people to cash their checks even if they have an account at the bank!!
Some banks even charge you to speak with a teller. It's ridiculous.
I have a bank with no fees because I have direct deposit of my monthly funds into my checking account. It's hard to find a bank with no fees.

Sure I feel the same as you, I do not like the hassle of being part of a queue and waiting inside a bank branch. People save so much time and effort not being part of a queue. I suppose as long as the Atm has no charges for each transaction then I would surely agree that withdrawing cash is better at an Atm than in a bank branch.

Yea, ATMs have queues too but at least they move faster.
Besides, there are more ATMs around than bank branches.

We prefer to go to the bank, but this is a small town, with several branches. I feel it is more secure than an ATM. A lot of places here still take checks as well, so that is good. Wal Mart will even let you write your checks for extra, above the amount.

People can look over your shoulder and gain your information. If it is at night you can be mugged at an ATM. I know it depends on the location, but I had just as soon use the bank and many of ours are open quite late.

It's not much further to just go to my bank for money. Also the atm's charge to use them. It's not much but if you think of over the years time how much is spent going to an atm it turns out to be a good amount of money. Also, my bank is just down the road from the first place I could use to get money.

Ever since with introduction of ATms and ATm cards, i no longer withdraw money in a bank.. haha =D I just hate to queue up in the bank and it's too troublesome.. ON top of that, some ple in the queue tend to be very talkative or have lots of problem, thus jamming up the whole queue behind them. lol =D
As for Atm, it's much convenient though there will be some ple whom always like to take their own sweet time, 'playing' on the ATMs.. lol =D

I dont generally go to my bank to withdraw or deposit money - however i do use a credit union ATM because then there is no charge. If i used a non bank one the atm charges and the bank charges....a nother bank one my bank charges me...
I tend to not go to the bank because i work during the hours its open and well its in a different town than i work.

I usually just use the ATM. They are better with me because I usually don't get off work before the banl closes. I would use it anyway though because it's easier. I usually don't carry a lot of cash on me. I just use my card in stores. Just got to remember to keep up with what you spend![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

the atm is what I use but we can only take out 20.00 at a time, so sometimes I have to go to the bank if I want 15.00 or something like that.

Since I'm normally working during bank hours, I've come to rely on the ATM more than actually visiting a bank branch. I withdraw and deposit through the ATM after hours, since almost all ATMs are 24 hours now. It's also easier to use an ATM since you can use any bank's ATM, rather than having to visit the branch where you have an account.
