I entered my freshman year of college in September of 1973 and in October of that year I met a boy down in the Rebel Roost (a place where students use to meet during convocation if they didn't have a club to go to) who told me that I looked like somebody he knew but he couldn't think who it was at first. A few minutes later he said it was Karen Carpenter.. That was a big thrill to me because I really liked her. She and I both wore our hair alike at the time, in a gypsy shag, if you remember those. We (the boy and I) started dating about the same day. Our song was "Top Of The World" by The Carpenters. I'm not sure if you would call this the cheesiest pick up line but he was serious when he said I looked like her. Kathy.

hey the cheesiest pick up line that came my way was when i was attending my graduation party and there was this guy whom i had a huge crush on but he used to beahve like "i nevr existed in the college for him' That night he came , sat just beside me and looked deep in to eyes and said "exuce me ! can i see what drink you have in your glass"? i said "yes sure , go ahead " and i handed over my glass to him. i picked up one spoon and took out an ice cube from my drink , he crushed that ice under his shoes , smiled and looked at me and said -- "sweety, now when i have crushed the ice how about knowing each other a little more"? I was amazed , smiling and had wings on my back . it was fun!
