My brother is graduating from college and says he has everything he needs. The problem is I still want to mark this as a momentous occasion and get him a really good gift. I am proud of him and I know he has worked very hard to get to this moment in his life. So can you help me? Did you get something from someone when you graduated college that you really liked or really helped you in your job hunt? I welcome your suggestions!

I'm graduating college soon myself and let me just say, I couldn't even tell you what I would want for a good gift. I just feel like I have everything I could need and that I really don't need or want anything. However, that doesn't mean that there surely is not something out there that could be useful.
If he'll be moving out soon, consider getting him items for the home. If he's looking for a job, try to find him items that will help him with his job search like a briefcase or a nice outfit. Or maybe get him items that he can use at his job.

Hi highflying - and you're no help at all! You're too funny that you're in the same position and don't know what you'd want. It is nice though that you feel you have everything you need. It says something about you as a person that you don't have a long list of items for everyone to buy for you. On the other hand since you're in the same position you're the exact person I'd turn to for advice! But those are good suggestions and I'll be searching the web using them today! Thanks for the response!

There are so many options for gifts that will help him!
What kind of job will he be looking for? Getting him a good tie might help him with interviews.
Will he be moving out on his own? Getting him a box full of his favorite foods may help him be able to eat well until he gets his first paycheck.
Is he living in a bachelor pad with no decoration? Some sort of picture or frame that commemorates his graduation may look great on his apartment wall or in his future office!
I received hardly anything when I graduated. The only thing I got was money. I used that towards my wedding. Other people I know used the money they got from graduation to buy clothes they would need for their new job or towards a car. Practical things seem so boring, but they are often the most used and the most remembered gifts!
I hope you find the perfect gift for your brother!

Hi derlila...He will be looking for a job as an accountant. I have been thinking about clothes only because in that kind of a professional environment I think that clothes are important. No one wants to wear the same thing every day and it's best to have somewhat of a selection every time you open the closet. That's a very interesting comment about practical things being the most used and remembered gifts - thanks for all the suggestions and thanks for your response.
