My hubby doens't like to spend a dime on flowers at all so I don't put any flowers during winter becaus eI would have to spend money on it. But the spring arrived and lots of flowers are blooming on the yard, I cut them and put them in a vase and put it on the dinning table, I think it makes the room looks refreshing!
I have moved in this house last fall so I didn't know what the yard and the flowers were like, I have found recently there is a flower plant growing, it looks like a heart and it is pink red, it doesn't look like flower at all, I'm very impressed, I never seen them before, do you guys know what the name it is? It looks pretty cool! I cut some of it from the yard and try to take a picture.

Sounds to me like it might be a plant called a Bleeding Heart I love those they come in Red a purpleish color and pink. I love fresh flowers and I will buy them with my own money they are better if they come form other people but I also buy fake flowers that look real so I can have flowers in my house all year round. I also spray perfume on them once in awhile.

Spray perfume on the flower? Really? I was thinking about it yesterday actually, but I wondered if they will die?

Like Amberina said, I think your plant is a bleeding heart. I have on in my garden, but it won't grow nicely because my neighbors dogs keep trampling it (the garden is between the houses).
I like to put flowers from the garden in the house, but don't tend to buy them. Money is tight in our house so we try to limit extra expenses.

Fresh flowers looks dainty inside the house! But I don't put fresh plants inside our home cause studies says that fresh plants can attract mosquitoes. The water in the vase can also be a breeding place for mosquito eggs. I just buy plastic plants and that's what I use inside the house.
Ciao!

I like fresh flowers more, I just keep changing the plate, make sure no water is accumulated. Thanks for responding! :-)

I love fresh flowers in the Spring/Summer. I have silk flowers I put out in the winter. If you post a picture of the flower I might be able to tell you what it is. I like to cut Roses and put them in bud vases on the table. It just perks the room up a little bit. Also I like daisies for the bedroom. They are so delicate and pretty

Hello mermaidivy,
I don't like flowers and in my house, I don't have any flowers. I only go for other decorations. I don't have any bad experiences with flowers but I really hate the smell. Even if I need to maybe, I will go for fake flowers like plastic flowers or the one that made from soap.

The soap one is nice too because it smells very good.

From your description, I think that plan is a bougainvilla. Oh my, we always put flowers at home because of the mosquitoes that might reproduce through the water in the vases and some flowers that my mom and I personally like are expensive (so we get to have only some of it during special occasions and if someone gave it). However, my mom was able to find some interesting artificial flowers in a shopping mall that looks real so it helps accentuates some parts of the house. We have colorful plants also so I guess this helps a lot because some leaves aren't green and looks like flowers too. We really take advantage also on the months of May where flowers naturally bloom and thank God, our bird's of paradise always blooms most of the time so we can cut anytime esp. when there are guests coming in the house for dinner. (What a taste!) I love flowers too!

I have been walking around my neighborhood a lot lately and seeing all of these trees with beautiful flowers. I have a vase up on a shelf, but it is all dusty from not using it! I think that tonight I will clean it, and tomorrow pick some flowers to put in it =)

I couldn't get exactly the description of the plant you are telling.
My guess to what I understand is "Bleeding heart" plant.
I'm not sure if it is correct.
BTW, I love flowers a lot., But when it comes to putting them in a vase... I'm against it.
I love them a lot when they are in the plant. I enjoy the flowers together with the plant. So I never cut them or decorate my room with flowers.
But I have beautiful garden. And spend some time during the evening in my garden.
