how important to you is internet and being online?i ask this because, last night i realized being online is really a big part of me. i cant live without internet. about 3 days ago, my internet was disconnected, and to go online i have to rent at an internet cafe, and to save money i am limited to an hour or two.
and yesterday, i felt like my heart's going to explode... really... and last night i was ready to burst, before i went to bed i was in tears. sounds corny right? but it was what i really felt. my husband even asked why i looked so sad, for 3 days he's been asking me that question.
i am so used now of being online, as i've been on the net for more than 6 years already, to have limited access or online for just a few hours is not enough for me. for one, i have an online income to take care about, and i want to read blog updates from friends, and post my own blog update too, three i want to post here at mylot as much as i want... that was really devastating.
im thankful now, that this afternoon, everything was ok and now my internet connection is working and i can be online, for hours and hours... when my husband came home this evening, i was really smiling. and after eating he told me... now i know why you look so happy tonight, it's because we have internet connection...
does that make me low? i never thought internet and being online had that impact on me now.

Ummm it sounds like you are already an internet addict! I and husband got unlimited internet connection with fix monthly payment last year end of September. I could say that I am fond of using the internet but if I will have work again maybe I will spend more time resting when at home that using computer again. I know that internet is already part of our daily life but I think I will not cry in case we do not have internet connection for few days. I can wait until it goes back again. I think you are not used to having no internet connection and maybe you spend most of your hours in front of the computer you had a hard time accepting the fact that your "life" has been away from you. Anyway never get too attached with internet and do some other things that suits your interest. It is very important that we spend our time more in some important things. I know you love blogging, and you earn online but I am pretty sure that is not enough to pay for the internet expenses. But I am glad that you had your internet connection back so you are happy again.

you may call it being an internet addict.. lol... yeah
i dont know, this has just become a part me of me, you know like something important IN you, or like a very dear friend, and hard to be part with.
but i disagree in what you said about this... "i am pretty sure that is not enough to pay for the internet expenses." because you can check my blog on how much i am earning, and i can say that it is more than what my monthly bill for the internet is.
yep, i am really glad my internet connection is back.

The internet is important to me on a daily basis. I have screamed and yelled and cried when my computer fried, or when I lost documents that I could not duplicate, but I don't go overboard. Life is too short to cry over a computer. Work around problems. You are young. When you are old, like me.....you won't worry over things like no internet connection for a few days...there are much more important things to worry about.

Take things with a grain of salt. I know, that's an old expression. It is and it still makes sense. Your mind set will change over time. What is important now, will become less important as other things fill your time, your life and your heart. Enjoy being young!!! You will be old before you know it...and you will wish you had been less upset about things like internet connections! Have a good day!

I think you got a habbit of doing the mylot and updating your blog daily and also reading your friends blogs dear. But please there are other than internet you have to take care of for example our kids, any work related your husband or to you and many more...but just don't get upset if it gets down and at very moment just think of any chores you have to do and just keep yourself busy and no problem the connection will come and see dear your husband might think that you are addicted to internet and don't make him to think like that.Because if again the connection gets disconnected and if you feel sad again and your husband may get angry,so just don't get upset and everything will gonna be okay right!!Keep smiling and just take the work on the internet as small and you won't get depressed at all.Keep smiling and enjoy your with your husband dear....

It sounds like you are very much like me! You love the Internet and cannot live without it. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't on the Internet at home, I have come to rely on it now, I treat my computer like a family member! I think that after you have been on the Internet at home for a long while you kind of become used to it and this is what has happened with me. I'm really pleased that I took a course in computer maintenance because if things go wrong now then I can sort out the problem myself without too much bother. Here's to the good old Internet. Andrew

i know a little about troubleshooting computers too, as i studied it at school... and if i cant solve the problem, my husband who is good at it will do it when he comes home from work.
the problem that had happened with my connection was through the system of the internet provider...
yep, here's to the good old internet... lol

i was in tears
Make sure that this doesn't happen next time. you are very sensitive, which isn't that good. Make sure that you have real life friends with you who are more important thatn internet friends. I am really worried about you!
Fear not, I have also cried over internet realtions but never cried due to un-availabitlity of net and I had seen that it affected my real life works too. Now, I try to be a little cautious on connectivity with internet. I have to because it might happen that I will not have internet for 10-15 days again, as rainy season is coming. Then I will be offline for that period!
Don't read me wrong, I am saying it because I have read in news papers that if someone is feeling very sad if internet is not available, it isn't that good scenario!

yeah, i think so... (on being sensitive with the internet connection... hehehe).
i have one friend in real life but she moved to another town far far far away from where we are now. i am hearing impaired so i dont really have that many friends, and the one friend that i have, is now gone too... i dont go out of our house that much too because i dont like talking to my neighbors... most of what they talk about are gossips anyway.
im kind of choosy when it comes to friends because when i find one, i tend to be loyal and all out, and i dont like so called friends who betray friends, i've had that and i really hate those people, so now im very choosy.
i hope come rainy season here, nothing dramatic would happen to me if ever there will be no internet connection for days... lol...
but its really important for me to be online everyday though because i have this one site that gives me weekly earning and part of the requirement to earn weekly there is to be online daily and do what has to be done, it'll take me some minutes only, and i really have to do it. so you see internet connection is really that important to me.

Well, I can say that the internet play a significant role in my life, but I cannot declare that I cannot live without it, because I have done a lot of times, whenever the internet connection would go haywire (ISPs here in the Philippines are not that dependable, you know, and if you would always take matters too seriously, you would only end up frustrated).
I would want to be online all the time (I am an online gamer and an active forumer of a lot of forum boards) but if I am to choose between the internet and my family, of course, family comes first.

Haha! That's so funny. But guess what? For sure, that's what I'm gonna feel if the same thing happens to me. I can't imagine not being online now, even for a day. Probably because, just like you I have my money generating businesses online that I'm taking care of right now.
Yeah, it's really hard for me also not to be in front of the computer. I feel so restless whenever I'm not online, I just feel like time flies when you're in front of the computer. And yup, internet is also my main means of communication with my family and friends back home.
Congratulations! You got your connection back!
Happy mylotting Jayrene!

I understand how you feel. My husband had to take our lap top to work yesterday, as he does once a week. I am always so crabby on that day. I want to get on. I want to check my email. I want to do my mylot, gather, and all of the other sites that I do. I can't actually feel really figity and odd until he brings back the computer, I depressed after not having a computer for a day. So I can imagine being really upset after 3 days. I am OK away from the computer when we are on vacation, but when we are at home I get really anxcious if I don't have it for some reason.

yeah, to some people internet is really important in a such a way that they get to talk/chat to their loved ones who are very far from them.
i've known some people who have met their partners through the internet, dating online, and they are now happily married and living together.
but that being addicted to internet gaming is really a bad idea... we have a family member who is like that and is a dropout... such a waste of time when he could've been in school studying. that is one thing that will never happen to me... the only game i always play on the computer is spider solitaire... . but there are also other games i play on the internet, but i dont spend many hours on those. my time in the internet is spent on my sites where i am earning.

I can't live without internet because today everyone just play games in my age 24/7 and some are getting jobs so there is really nothing to do except being online and doing something. At internet you got a huge freedom that some people do not like and you can say whatever you want without caring how other people will react and that's what I like the most with the internet. Without the internet I would still try to fit the society and not be who I am and maybe not even try to express my opinions. Who knows, maybe I would even vote like my friends just to be like them and vote.
My ego was growing super much when I started to use internet forums and wikipedia. Somehow I feel like I can do whatever I want now but some people outside the internet still try to stop me :p
Without internet it was fun but less fun. After school I usually had to wait other people in my age to come from school and have time to play with me or just fool around. My mother was always busy so I was sitting in front of the tv all the time anyway. That's why I don't see it as anything special because the internet time I use right now would probably go to tv watching anyway and it's better for me to be creative at the internet than sitting in front of the tv and being lazy eating popcorn :D

for those of us who are at home only... internet is one way for us also of not getting bored, aside from earning which gives us a sense of being something as we can help with the family income, being online also helps us meet new friends, and with that life is less boring at home...

The internet has opened me up to so many possibilities. it is definately a big part of my life. It has also allowed me to communicate with the world in ways I would have been able to and I have made a lot of new and good friends via it. There are many sites that educate you about things you would have never known so indeed I need to access it every day! Am I obsessed? Hmmm :)

There are certain things that make people feel complete - especially when it comes to formed habits. I don't think you're being low. Did you know that internet connection increases productivity for us IT-related workers? We work better with an internet connection even though we don't really use it LOL
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Being online is considered as a great luck. Because, we are actually keeping touch with our friends and family, reading articles daily, posting useful or sharable personal contents in the form of blogs etc.
Internet is really a lovely ocean where a user is provided with everything he/she wants.
It's lovely to be online.
Mylot is a significant part of that ocean. So I just want to be online besides the time I spend in my college.

Right now, it's not as important because I am not working. I remember that when I was still working, I'd get really pissed each time the server is bogged down. My day-to-day transactions depend so much on it. We transact via e-mail so that our dealings are documented.
However this is not the case the now. Since I am not working, I use the internet to stay in touch with friends who have migrated and friends that I have not seen in such a looooong time. I also use it to kill time.

yeah that too... it's really important that i have to read my emails... i have 100s of them... lol... not all surveys, some are soloads, need to know which ones to read and which ones to delete. plus, i need to know what the sites i am in are having each day, if they have a contest that i have to participate in or not. if i dont keep up with my email and it gets full, some emails will bounce back and if that happens my account on that site will be deleted. that is how important internet is to me.
