Has anyone suffered from migraines and actually found anything to relieve them? I have head migraine headaches for almost 20 years now, although they've gotten worse in the last year or so. I've tried all sorts of medication, chiropractor, accupuncture, and have even been tested for delayed food allergies. If anyone has tried another treatment which works, I'll be glad to hear about it.

I too have migraines and I take midrin for them and that works prety well. I did have a migraine last month that I thought was going to kill me- it was the worse I've ever felt and the doctor gave me Trixmet adn it worked the first time, the second time I took it I had a horrible allregic reaction that landed me in the hospital. So, talk with your doctor and see what he/ she can tell you and go from there. I do hope you find a resolution soon.

I've also tried different prescription medications for migraines. Imitrex makes me sick, and a couple of others that I tried just didn't work. I think my doctor has tried just about everything that he can. The worst part of the migraines for me is that I'm basically useless when I get them. I can't even take care of my kids, because it takes everything that I have to stay coherent. Hopefully, we'll find something that works soon.

Hi,my dear friend,I used to have a migraine,I think the following method I learned from the net might help: lie down, put an ice pack wrapped in a towel or a cold compress on your throbbing head to soothe swollen, pulsing blood vessels until the pain subsides.I hope you will be well soon!Good luck!

I get migraines and have done for the last few years. There's a few newer medications which you can get over the counter such as migraleve and imigram recovery,I think it's called. I brought some cooling strips a few weeks ago and I've found them useful. You can get them in supermarkets and you just put them on your forehead when you feel them coming on. They do stop you having a full blown migraine. Keep a dairy of what you eat and what your doing that day is also useful to see if there might be any patterns that might be triggering them such as chocolate or spending too much time in front of a computer. You can get covers to go over your computer screen to take the glare off if that's one of the cause.
