being American it disgusts me because of all the jobs that have been lost in my country. also I hate paying for stuff made in china because it is garbage and doesn't last. buying American is harder to do, I hear it is possible but not always easy.

Yes I know a lot of Americans are mad about the outsourcing happening! I empathise with that very much. For my part, though its India thats blamed for all this happening, its also not the best thing to happen cos my city - bangalore is so ruined with the outsourced jobs, salaries in that sector are higher by 50% or more than regular jobs and thereby a larger gap between haves and have nots is created. The market prices of everything has gone up to match the haves, the buildings have changed, its more crowded with out of state people here to make that extra buck... yeah its a bad thing!

thank you for telling me what it is like for you because of outsourcing. yes that is another thing that frustrates Americans. many customer service jobs are outsourced to India. for me, calling my local utility company puts me on the line with someone in India. that makes me crazy! I don't blame Indians, I blame the American companies who do this. It is also frustrating because although there are people in your country who speak English well there are others who have such a heavy accent that it is frustrating to speak to them. I also get angry because I am out of work and I could do customer service work but because of outsourcing there aren't many jobs. Also it changes how much money Americans make. The only people in this country who do well are the higher ups in these companies that abuse the system. I like mylot because it helps all of us to see that no matter where you live so many of us are better effected by this economic mess.

I gave up on that a long time ago, I try to buy local, I prefer small local mom and pop style stores. It keeps jobs here and it supports the local businesses. Shopping at wal mart, it's almost impossible to only buy american. Labor is cheaper overseas and business can make more money by saving on taxes and insurance they would have to pay if they had the same production company here.

glad you have a workplan to avoid that! Its sad that cheap labor is on the top of everyones list regardless of quality or providing jobs to our own fellow-countrymen first!

I am American and I get tired of supporting other countries exclusively! I do believe it is a global economy. I do believe that by helping other countries, things will get better. But time has proven that if we dont help ourselves, no one will! I make an effort to buy American products. I make an effort to support people in my local community. (My purse was made by my sisters old neighbor. It is the best purse I have ever had!) I think the 'made in china' stamp would bother me a little bit less if it didnt seem like it was all so poorly made. I dont blame the Chinese for that - it is what everyone keeps ordering! If you pay only a little bit for something, you only get a little bit of quality. No thanks! So yes, I do share in this with you!

Yes, I believe local stuff needs support and also the quality is more controllable. And besides, I cant help but worry what can happen with all that money could be going if everyone is buying/ sourcing Chinese stuff!

Im not chinese, but i have friend from china. We cannot blame china why they're productivity is too much. But there are some products are good, not all their product is low quality.Anyway we have a choice whether made in USA or CHINA,It depends on us, of coarse we want good quality it will be expensive, the product of CHINA is cheapest and affordable to pay.
