Have you ever come across a discussion on mylot that just made you really angry. Angry enough to express your distaste for the person who started it?
I came across one where a man was saying that he needed help because his wife would not stop bothering him when he was on his computer. He said that he would yell at her and beat her, but she would still bother him. I just about lost my mind. I told him he was not a good person for beating his wife and I hoped she left him. He was from another country and explained to me that beating wives was common where he came from. It still made me really angry.

I am quite a flexible person and most of the time will not take things too personal. I know some people create sensational discussions to test the reaction of others or maybe to hit the roof in responses. Before these highly charged emotional discussions can draw angry juices out of me I will look at it positively and not be drawn to the emotional side of it. These are good writers who are able to penetrate others mind and stir their emotions. For all you know they are laughing away when they see the impact of their discussions. On the other side of the coin, should any discussions become overly sensitive which I think will create a chain of angry responses I will not participate nor be interested to get involve in such a controversy subject.

"These are good writers who are able to penetrate others mind and stir their emotions" "for all we know they could be laughing at the impact of their discussions"
Thank you for saying this. I feel the same way and didn't know how to bring it up, without pointing a finger or sounding accusative.
This point inspired a discussion that I started. I doubt many will get the point, though.

Believe me some of the discussions here are more fictional then the truth. Honestly, I have concocted a few sensational posts to test the reaction of other people. Was I surprise? Yes, I've got tons of responses and some are not too pleasant to read but yes, I have all the fun to read them all. At the end of the day I painted a bad picture about me in the readers mind. But who cares as long as I have created a lively atmosphere here and driven in people to read my posts.

Wow. where is that post? I want to read it if possible. I haven't yet ran into a discussion that has made me angry on here yet However, there have been other forums where someone would say something that would get me all bent out of shape. People seem to be pretty decent here. From ehat I have witnessed at least. I like it here.

It was a while ago, I don't even remember what topic it was placed under. If someone were to go way back in to my answers to discussions they would probably find it, but I have had so many since then it would probably take me 2 days to find that particular discussion.

I haven't come across one here on Mylot, but I did on another site similar to this one. I can't believe the guy you came across. It would have infuriated me as well. It is so sad that beating your wife is common in other countries. It shouldn't be standard practice anywhere. How can anyone think that hurting another human being is ok? I don't care where you're from. That guy was a jerk! I do hope his wife leaves him, but I'm sure that is not allowed in his country either. God Bless America!

ever came across a discussion that made you angry at mylot?
Yes friend, it happens on a few rare occasions. You gotta remember that people are people and for the most part they are going to speak their minds. Personally speaking I feel sorry for the man that got so wrapped up in his computer that he would beat his wife. I think that would have made anyone angry. I think that man might have a serious mental problem. I can remember a time when my hubby used to stay on the computer all hours of the night. Sometimes I would try to wait for him just so that we could talk after putting the children to bed but away he would continue to type. As of today I still cannot imagine what all he must be doing on it all the time but my motto is this, "If you can't beat em, join em" So now when he comes home he see me on the computer. I'm usually right here at mylot. Maybe that guy's wife should get herself a computer and just ignore old boy. Then he will start to feel jealous of her computer. Anyways thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

I remember having a discussion about abortion. I was shocked to find out there were many women must choose to abortion to save their career. I remember one of them passed by my response because I am against abortion and she was like so angry that she did not want a child because it a hindrance to her budding career. I commented something like these that , that was her opinion and should respect mine too, but she was still angry, only to found out she was pregnant at that time. I don't care to answer her comments because she was on the family way and it uncomfortable. I just prayed that time that she will not do abortion just for the sake of her ambition. I really hate that lady.

I think I had only posted about 20 responses, when I was starting on myLot and I was getting to know about it. I came across this discussion where a person was preaching that all the people who do not believe in god should be killed and what not. It was one hot discussion and luckily I had my say in it, in a very bad way lol. The discussion got deleted, but not before me and another person had a string of about 20 comments biting each other. It was fun for the moment, but later the started getting personal and into a different aspect.
That discussion made me really angry and gave me a small hint of what I should be expecting for saying out what I felt. Well, I still say what I feel, but I do it in a more sophisticated and civilized manner.

I have had some of my commments later commented on that have mad me pretty mad. One was a discussion on life and living and I commented that it is about doing your best and living your best life. I received a reply making me out to sound dumb and reminded that I didn't focus on religion. I am not religious person and think that it you are, GREAT! But this was about a personal opinion and I think that the original poster was way out of line. It was almost like they started the post to make some drama and dictate others. Some people get bored and want to start stuff, I have way too much to do for that. I come here for light chat, not to get into war. PEACE ;)

Wow, that guy is sick! He must have hit his head that hard to even say that. He got a nerve? I hate him... In some discussions, i just leave a post to prove my point and never come back. Your reasons will never work for absurd people, they won't listen, you'll just be wasting your precious energy and you'll just ruin you entire morning trying to converse with a heartless guy... We're supposed to be enjoying mylot...

There have been a few that made me want to reach through the computer and wrap my skinny appendages around the discussion starter throat but then I have to realize that people are who they want to be, so I won't be changing their minds about anything.

We people here are from different country and there could be a communication problem. May be he wanted something different but due to lack in this language, he couldn't tell you the true story.
Nevertheless, beating anyone is a crime and that too beating a wife, shouldn't be acceptable.
As for me, I have never come to any discussions like that. If I would come across, I wouldn't choose to respond because it will do nothing but spoil my day!

Hi, ladym33. Nope, I have not come across any discussion here that made me angry. I think I have come across that discussion 4paws above said where the person said he threw his cat. I was appalled. About that discussion you said that made you angry...That was so terrible. I do not care what is common in their country, it is basic principle that one person should not hurt another, especially for such a lame reason. I doubt too that his countrymen would agree with him that beating a wife is ok.
Now I am angry
Take care

What country is that?? It doesn't take a genius to realize that when you hurt someone physically it's WRONG!!! What's wrong is wrong!! Good for you for telling him that. Anyway, I came across this one man who posted "Let's kill babies" over 2-3 mos ago. He had this stupid belief on "The right to kill". He was like saying babies should be killed before they grow up and get ABUSED!! like killing is so much better than abuse. Some people are just crazy. His post was reported and removed. YEAH! Another one was this person who had no fear on saying he wanted to kill the president himself if he had the chance. I don't know what the world has become. These people don't worth my time but I sometimes can't help but respond bluntly with total anger and disgust :(

Oh yes, once I post a topic and asked for people's opinion both from scientific and non-scientific views...there is no right or wrong in their comments...I just need to know what people think about my topic. Basically I want to learn something new, that's all.
And there is one man who is insisting that his comment is the right one based on his long-time experince. I told him thank you for his comment, and again I explain to him that this discussion forum is not about who is better than who, and right or wrong, but it's about knowing other's point of views.
He even said rude things to my friend about me. Geez...
So I just take a deep breath, forget it, and carry on with my life.
