Earlier tonight after my son had finally gone to sleep I just sat there watching him sleeping and thinking how wonderful he was and how much I loved him. I felt so peaceful just sitting there watching him sleep. Be honest how many of you do this when your kids are asleep? Or I am just a big softie? Huggles. Ellie :D

aww you big sweetheart *ruffles ellies hair* i do this haven't got kids but sometimes at night usually if i'm in pain or struggling to sleep and sometimes just for the fun I watch ste or one of the pets sleeping and I usually focus on their breathing and it settles me. It's nice to sometime just stop and take it all in i love how peaceful they all look and usually wish i could be in that lovely state myself but it never fails to bring a smile to my face especially when one of em breaks the peace with a fart or a snore lmao

I've done that often but I feel at the moment, that you have extra reason to do so. They look really cute and peaceful when they're asleep, don't they? You ARE a big softie when it comes to your kids... I think everybody is, but then, if we feel they're doing something wrong, we still chastise them, because it's for their own good.
Brightest Blessings my friend.

Hi Darkwing, Yes I am watching over him probably more than I would usually, his dad never showed this weekend and the dog bit me quite viciously yesterday for no reason so need to get rid as I can't risk him turning on J, when is it going to end. They do look like little angels when asleep though bless don't they. Huggles. Ellie :D

I think anyone that is a parent does this...I know I sure do! There is nothing sweeter than watching your peaceful, sleeping child at the end of the day - sort of calming I guess...You are a big softie, but so am I! Having children brings things out in you that you never thought were there doesn't it!

Yes, I always watch my baby sleeping and I enjoy it. I felt the peace too. Besides from watching him silently, I will touch his face and give him a kiss on the forehead too! He is always the greatest gift that I got in life! Anyway, I think we also watch our baby when they play or when they concentrate in doing certain things with different feelings like proud. Don's you think so?

yes, we are big softies when it come to the children. My husband and I do the same thing. In fact, my husband has told me several times that he was watching me sleep. I have a few times watched him too when he was feeling badly or sick. I just wanted to keep an eye on him. It made me feel better.
But just watching the children sleep, being ever so quiet as to not wake them. I have done this many times. It is a peaceful time and just easy to watch them sleeping. I reflect on what they did that day, or what they will do tomorrow or for their lifetime and just how much I love them.

Hi Moondancer, Yes it is very peaceful to just sit and watch. I know there are other things I should be doing but can't help myself looking at him when asleep bless. I do it with my older children too when they are at home and all grown up now. I think back to when they were babies and yet they still are my babies although adults now in their own right, that will never change. Huggles. Ellie :D

Yep you are a big softie and we all do it!. Those moments when they are sleeping they look just like little angels ( and sometimes it is the only time).
Enjoy these moments...the days may seem long sometimes but the years go by so fast. My little angel is 23 and I like watching him sleep..that is when I see him.

We are all big softies where our babies no matter how old are concerned I think. Huggles. Ellie :D

That's wonderful, and I have done that when my kids were small. I hug and kiss them before retiring to bed. We spend a few minutes cuddling each other, telling stories, jokes, until they were sleepy. When they did, I look at them lovingly...even pray for them...been doing it until today. Whenever my two kids go out of the house, I bless them without them knowing it. Parents should be warm, loving and caring to their kids...and that's what parents should be....not really because they're or we're softies, but because we are human beings capable of loving our kids....keep that up!

I do watch over him at times. I used to do it more often when he was still a baby, even amazed at the beauty of a child and at the enormous feelings it gave me. I sometimes am still surprised at some of his actions and the words he learns and repeats (he is 3 now). When he acts so, I do say out loud, "how nice" or show my surprise at the way he acts.
When he is not well, that is another story. A couple of months ago, he had very high fever and I simply could do nothing but look at him. I was just hoping that by that the fever would go away and I would see him again jumping around and giving me headaches!
If you are being a softie, then I can join your club!

Hi Cbhomework, Ah bless him, I hate it when any of mine are ill, I just wish it could be me instead of them as they seem too little to be poorly. I would be like you sat with and watching over in that situation. Of course you can join the softie club, one of the small pleasures in life eh watching our children sleep. Huggles. Ellie :D

I do this a lot. Sometimes he sleeps with me, and if he is still sleeping when I get up, I find my self just staring at him. I rub his face, and his hair, kiss his little nose. I have even been known to cry while looking him. Especially when I was first pregnant with Dakota (2nd baby due in august), I didn't know I was pregnant, and I was watching Damian play, he was trying to make me laugh (he is my comedian) and I just started thinking that there will at one point be a time when he doesn't try to make me laugh any more. I just started bawling, I couldn't help it. Damian just looked at me and said "what wrong mommy" I smiled and said mommy needs a hug. He obliged, which of coarse got me thinking of when he will get to that point to where he doesn't want me to hug him anymre. I hope he never gets to that point.

Hello ellie333,
I have the same feelings and I always do that, whenever I can. I love to see his face while he is fast asleep and sometimes, I feel like I don't spend enough time with him and I miss him whenever I look at him when he is sleeping. I love my son so much and whenever he is not around, I miss him so much. I always rush home everyday just to fetch him and the times that I spend with him every day are the most precious moments for me.

If i have a kid, although i don't have one yet, i will do the same thing. My elder sister has just got a baby. She will do that and sometimes she will take pictures when the baby's asleep and send us the pohots.
She always says that my kid's cute.
See, ellie, you are not alone there.

Hi ellie,
I think all mothers do that at times because they are such a little angels when they are asleep and as you watch them, all your love comes out, as I am not a mother but I used to watch my sister's twins sleep and just love them and you are a softie my dear friend. Love and huggles.
Tamara
