It is ashame the way people are losing there Jobs, this is a recession, everytime you look around people Jobs are closing. I had just got an Membership with Sams Club, about 3 weeks ago, I went to the Store the Other day, and They close the Store, I though these poor People don'thave a Job, What will they do? I did get my refund back. $40.00 for a Membership, They wanted me to go to another Store i told them no it would be inconvient for me. One lady said, she was talking to another person in tthis other store, I went to work at SamsClub, and they told everybody that was there last day, no warning what so ever? How wold you feel if something like this happened to you? Did it Happen? Will it happen you never know.

The V is seriously causing a lot of issue everywhere in the world today, company posting losses and all but then i think this is the time to start looking for other sources of income thats if you have not before now. I really don't think this is the time to sit on just on source of income.

While it hasn't happened to me, I see it happening to others I know in my community. It's really horrible that this is happening all over our country. I read that last week about our only Sam's club's closing. I think it's rotten that these companies don't even give a warning anymore...just 'boom' you're out of a job with no notice! I feel so sorry for all those people, they didn't even have a clue so there was no way for them to prepare! Companies seem all about greed these days. While the ceo's and upper management have these huge paychecks, their workers get zip in comparison. I do think it's because the ceo's get so much that it cannot help but help the company crumble.
I have a friend in his mid 60's who really depends on his job to make it into his 'golden years.' He's now out of a job, and really, what chance does a 64 year old man have of getting any kind of job...no matter HOW skilled he is?! These are very scary times we live in! Sad about Sam's closing, yet even sadder for those who got the surprise of losing their incomes. How would I feel if it happened to me? I'd probably freak out just like anyybody else would!

Awesome!! I will be sure and tell him about that! He usually stops by during the week, so I'll have AARP bookmarked to the page so he can check it out online. I never thought about AARP, that is an excellent suggestion. Thank you SO much for the info! Have a nice evening ;-)

I'm definitely grateful that I'm still able to hold on to my job in this economic downturn. There are some of the people I know getting axed from their jobs and that is totally awful. In times like this, I've always thought of making a small business but then having no resources yet. I do have the vaguest idea and money can certainly be saved. Perhaps in the near future, I will have my own business, who knows. Dreams have to be kept alive. But then again, in economic downturn, even businesses do suffer. That's bad and I hope the economy picks up soon.

I feel guilty when i heard news or people talking about losing their job. For the past few months i always complain about my work and my boss. I never appreciate the fact that i still have work and i still get my salary on time. I just hope that our company will get stronger and earning more so we still have work. And i also prayed that people who lose their job will be luck to find another one.

Now day is hard for everyone here... I always drive past by this casino and today, the lights are off and no car in the parking lot. I was wondering what happened so I stopped my car and went to check. On the door said "Out of Business"
See? even Casino is out of business too, I dont know how many more will close. I am keeping my fingers cross for the good thing. and we are all do the same right?

It happened to me, but I did get a ninety day notice. I have been without a job since December 12, 2008. I know what these people are going through and it is a tough pill to swallow. I do pray that they stay motivated and get out and try to find themselves another job. I have a lot going against me because I am 59 years old and there are no jobs here in this small town in Alabama.

i also lost my job because the company i'm working was burnt. i was a computer technician there and i'm only paid 5$ a day.. haha that's so small quantity compared to you guys living in the U.S. coz finding job here in the Philippines is really difficult.. I think that the global financial crisis had affected that much for many people are loosing their jobs..

I know a lot of people are losing their jobs and I hope it starts to turn around soon. That would be really hard to wake up one day thinking you could provide for your family, only to find out when you got to work that you no longer have a job.

It seems to be happening a lot at the moment. I'm afraid there are many people finding themselves without jobs and even the small businesses are having to cease trading. Who would have thought that Woolworth's would have ever gone bankrupt? They've been going for as long as I've walked this earth and probably much longer, but bang! They went in the matter of a couple of months, after they'd sold off as much of their stock as they could.
It's a crying shame my friend, and all the time, our beloved government here, is feathering its nest, by drawing unnecessary funds for second homes, services etc. No wonder we're all struggling! Grrrrrrr.
Brightest Blessings.

I was going to school at CSB School of Broadcasting. I graduated last July but the whole schools all over the country all just closed no warning on March 4th. They didnt tell anyone they were having problems! Very lame I felt so bad for them how they called all the teachers and staff in and fired them on the spot. As for me I am pretty much not working at all. My job at the store Borders Books gives me no hours since mid Feb. So I finally am getting partial unemployment since I am still on the payroll. Its lame what the company is doing and how they pick certain people to get hours that arent full time and I know two of them got hired last Oct and I got hired in Dec 2007 so way before them. I hate the favoritism. I have been looking for work since January and its really hard to even get intervies little alone a job. I havent of course but wish I could its very hard on my sister paying all the bills alone. :(

You do hear of people losing their job that way and how awful.Just to be told not to come back, some people in England got sacked with a text message. All their papers ect were sent on to them. What a shock. It has not happened to me as I don't work ,my husband is a lorry driver for dhl and that is safe ,as he drives for a supermarket. As long as people eat he should be ok.plus he has worked at the same place for ten years,so it will cost a fortune in redundancy so hopefully as far as we can tell at the moment he is safe.My heart goes out to the three million who have lost thier jobs in England because of this recession and indeed anywhere in the world.xx
