The title says it all. Me, I think I lost cellphones twice already. The first one was a Nokia cellphone. My mom and I were riding a tricycle and my cellphone was in the pocket of my jogging pants. Actually, my jogging pants' pocket was kinda loose. When we got off of the tricycle, i touched my pocket only to find out that my cellphone was gone! We rushed to chase the tricycle but it was nowhere to be found. I was giving my number a ring using my mother's cellphone but someone was rejecting it. My conclusion: someone got it already. What a waste.
How about you? Have you lost a cellphone before? If yes, then how? Care to share your own experiences? Happy myLotting everyone!

I have only lost one cellphone. It was one of the worst days of my life!
I was up in the mountains for a short get away. My husband (then boyfriend) and I were leaving early sunday morning. I had to get to work. It had snowed the night before. The layer of snow on the road was fresh, but not too deep. So we headed out.
Not far down the road, my truck began to slide. I couldnt get control of it. After about 100 yards, I hit a tree. The truck spun another 180 degrees before it stopped. It was my first accident and very scary! My husband and I both watched the hood of the truck crunch towards us as we hit the tree.
Someone stopped and helped us out. A tow truck was called. Things were taken care of. The nice person who stopped gave us a ride back to our friends cabin. I stood on the bed upstairs to call work. It was the only place where you could get cell phone recpetion - and even then it was hard to find. There was no house phone. I tried calling my boss, but she didnt answer. After about 20 minutes, I was finally able to get cell phone reception again, so I called work and left them a message.
We rode home later that day with our friend. There was 5 of us in a mid-sized car. The three of us who sat in the back had the dog across our laps for the whole ride home.
When I got home, I realized I couldnt find my phone. I looked everywhere, but it was no where to be found. When I went to get everything out of my truck from the tow place, I stopped by the cabin. I figured I must have dropped it. There was more snow by then. I never did find it.
I never want to lose my phone again! Replacing all of the numbers was a nightmare! And I never want another day like that!

Oh my! a supposed-to-be happy get away turned into a nightmare. How were the two of you? Any injuries? Glad you're fine.. I bet, losing the cellphone added to the depression you felt. That's one of the most tragic cellphone-losing stories I've ever heard! What did you do? Did you cancel your get away instead? That was really scary..
Thanks for your response and happy myLotting! Just forget about it. The good thing is you didn't die or lose a body part :)

We were both bruised, but fine. It has been a couple of years now and I still miss that truck! I loved it, and it was nice to have a truck!
Im sure there are more tragic stories out there. If you are going to tell a story, it might as well be a good one!

Oh, after reading your experience, I felt so mad and frustrated too! I hate people like that! Bud unfortunately, it cannot be avoided.. Once people see valuable things unattented, they would grab it and it would result to stealing.. So sad.
Thank you for responding to my discussion. Happy myLotting :)

Yes, if someone's rejecting your calls , they have no desire to return your phone at all. Mine (my most beloved and useful nokia phone) got lost cause i was too trusting. we were in church, and i was helping out with the church youth in some fun activity. i left my bag nearby (but still away from me) without anyone watching my bag cause i trusted everybody. and when i searched my bag cause im about to use my phone, it was gone! i tried calling it and my calls got rejected like waht happened to you. the beaad thing was, i tried texting the phone to touch their conscience and they replied with a lie that could never ever happen. he said it was given to him by someone wearing white. but nobody in our church was wearing a white polo shirt that time cause it was not sabbath day. and they said they didnt want to return the phone cause they were afraid i was going to put them in jail. The thing that i really dont like was that they even had to use my load to make lies. whew.. at least that was done.. and i have a new and better phone. i bet his conscience doesnt make him sleep too

Wow! That guy (or girl) has quite an attitude, huh. If I were you, I would have gone and reported him/her to the nearest police station. I bet karma did hunt him/her down. He/she's really so mean..
By the way, the good thing is that was all in the past. Take good care of your cellphone now, okays? Jiayou and happy myLotting! Thank you so much for responding :)

Haha, cool! But sadly, people nowadays would steal even the cheapest cellphone just for their satisfaction.. Thiefs would steal anything as long as they find it useful.
Thanks for responding and happy myLotting :)

Lucky you 'cause when you came back for it, it was still there. Incidents like that often happens the opposite way. Most people wouldn't find the thing they're looking for anymore when they come back for it, thus resulting to loss and stealing..
Thanks for responding and happy myLotting :)

I lost my phone once! And I really regreted it. I cried over my Nokia phone. Haha! Well, it's reasonable because all the important messages from my friends are there. Those messages that I've been saving for years are gone! It really sucks. I even used the calendar in my phone as my diary. Everything that happens to me, I put it there. Waaah! Ask how I lost it? Well, here's the story..
I was in a mall show when suddenly I saw a crowd of people. I was curious so I went to see what was the commotion all about. My cellphone was just hanging from my neck while I was holding my digicam. The next thing I knew, only the lace was hanging from my neck. No more phone! Huhu.

I have lost my cellphone when I was buying food from a place. I must have dropped it on the road or something. The mobile was around 1500 rupees. I tries to call back my number and nobody took the number, but after sometime I found that someone had switched off the mobile. I searched all the place again and again to find if I dropped some where. I was very sad when I lost my mobile.

My second cellphoen that I bought years ago was the only unit I lost and since that day all my cellphones either gets worn out from me. Only one cellphone was lost from me and that was devastating on my part since I depend on that phone to contact many of my friends and family. When I finally got the chance to get a new one it took me several days before i could reconstruct my phonebook once again.

Please be careful next time. I haven't lost cellphone before. However, my husband and my mom experienced it. My husband lost a cellphone in a taxi. And my mom's cellphone seemed to be stolen. I hope they will be much more careful next time but my husband is very careless all the time. One day after we went out of the restaurant, I accidentally found his wallet was fallen on the ground. Fortunately I found it so that we didn't have a loss:)

Thanks. But that was almost 5 years ago already. The pain has already been healed :D Your husband is lucky. How much did his wallet contain? If it was a large amount, that would be really something to be frustrated for.
Happy posting! :)

Hey ayameyokomi,
As for me, I lost my cellphones a lot of times! Lame isn't it? lol. I'm just a careless person when it comes to small handy gadgets. I got my very first cellphone when I was 12, it was a Nokia3310 and lost it the next day. I put it on top of my mom's car, forgot it was there, got inside the car and my mom drove off. The phone was never found. LOL.
Next cellphone I lost was a Motorolla. It was during high school. We were not allowed to bring cellphones to school but I did! I hid it in my locker in the morning, went to check on it during recess and realized it was gone! I couldn't report anything because I could get caught for bringing an illegal stuff to school. So sad :(
In the very same year, I lost another phone - Nokia6310. I had an outing with my classmates to the mall. It happened in the ladies when I was taking sh*t, and my cellphone rang. I took it out from my handbag to answer the call. And stupidly forgot to put it back inside! Then we all went for lunch, shopping, boys scouting etc thinking my cellphone was with me! I only realized it was missing after the great outing, when I was on the way home. How pathetic!
There are lots more experiences to share actually. Mostly my fault, so careless of me. I guess I better stop embarrassing myself now. lol. Thanks for the discussion. And happy mylotting to you too :D

Oh my, I got so entertained with your stories. Don't blame yourself. You were still too young to have a cellphone to start with (just like me! hehe). By the way, you said you put your cellphone inside your locker right? Why is it that when you opened your locker, it wasn't there anymore? It just triggered my curiosity.
Happy myLotting again! Thanks for responding!

I got a brand new Samsung m500 and it slipped out of my pocket when I was clearing the snow off of my car! I didn't realize it when it happened and drove to my grandmother's house. Later on instant messenger I discovered the my friend's brother had ran it over with the snow blower! She could only find the batter and the main part of the phone. The back of the phone turned up in the spring when the snow went away! Lucky me, the phone still works to this day!

Oh, sorry to hear that.. That happened to me once too. But in my case, it fell in the toilet. I forgot to take my cellphone off of my pocket when I took a pee. When I stood up, it fell straight onto the mouth of the toilet! Glad my father was able to get it immediately. It malfunctioned in some ways but we had it repaired so I can use it again.
Thanks for responding! Happy myLotting!

I did lose it in the most stupid way. I usually listen to music when I am heading to university and just when I left the house my cousin called me an after I was done talking I put my earphones back on and put my cell phone back into my purse. Well at least I thought I did. But I didn't. I didn't bother to look at my purse when I was putting it back and I tend to just throw it on my bag but didn't realize that it did not end u on my purse but rather on the grass. Which is probably the reason why I didn't hear any noise at all. I spent the whole day at the university searching my bag over and over. However I was lucky enough. Two girls that live nearby had found it and they called the last contact that I talked to and told her that they had found the phone but didn't know whose it was. Me and my cousin are housemates so that worked out just fine. Still good people out there.:D:D

Wow! Those two girls are very kind-hearted, huh? Yeah, there are still good people out there but not too much. That's sad. But the important thing is, you got your cellphone back. I admire those two girls for being really honest!

I don't remember if this is the discussion I responded to yesterday concerning losing my cell phone or not. If it is, I hope you don't mind my repeating it. I lost my cell phone while I was out riding horseback one day a year or two ago. I always take it with me whenever I go horseback riding in case of an emergency. Anyway, the phone I had at the time had a clock as well as a countdown timer on it and I always used one of these to help me keep up with how long I had been riding. I had taken it out of my case at one point to see how much longer I had to ride and I thought I had put it back in the case. I happened to look down at my case (the case had a strap attached to it so I could wrap it around my saddle horn)sometime later and noticed it was missing!. I decided I must have dropped it somewhere. I looked all over that pasture for it and I never did find it!Believe it or not, it's hard to find anything you lose in a pasture no matter how well you keep the grass cut. The guy who came out to give my horse the flu shot (yes, horses, especially older ones, do get the flu shot, lol)found it sometime later. I had already bought a new cell phone by that time, though. I threw my old cell phone away because it didn't work. There's no telling how many times it had been rained on, stepped on by a horse, or run over by a tractor or a lawn mower. Kathy.

I have lost my cellphones twice too. One of them is a LG cellphone (clamshell type). I had a similar situation as you, but it was on a bus instead. I was sitting on a bus to get to my destination. I do knew that the cellphone was still inside my pants pocket when I sit down. However, when I reached the destination, and alight the bus, I found that the cellphone was missing from my pocket. I tried to call my own number, but the call was rejected. When I tried calling again, someone had switched off the cellphone. I was so mad, and my husband scolded me for putting in the pocket. I will have to admit that the pants were quite baggy, and the pocket is quite loose.
As for the second time, I missed one step and fell down the stairs. There's only 1 or 2 people around the area, but they just walked off. It was lucky that there's only a few steps more, so I just picked myself up, and walked towards the exit of the subway to get out of the station, and walk towards the usual bus stop to work. I was walking halfway through when I thought of texting my husband of how unlucky I am. However, my cell phone was gone! I ran back to the station, and asked the station manager for help to allow me to go back to where I fell earlier to search for the cell phone. However, it was gone!!! I tried to call my cell phone later, but the person who found it had switched it off.
That was my 2 unlucky experiences of the loss of my cell phones.

I'm really bad about misplacing my cell phone. The worst time was when it fell out of my pocket when I got out of my car to check the mail. I didn't know it fell it got run over. Someone called my sister to say they found it. It still worked even though it looked a little rough around the edges.

It was my very first cellphone and obviously it was my first time to lose a cellphone. It was NOKIA 8210. I was preparing to go work so I decided to charge it in the living room while I was preparing to take a shower that morning.
My mistake was I didn't close the door, right after shower I went to check my phone to see if I have a message, only to find out that the charger is the only thing that's left. I was alone in my boarding house that time so i knocked the apartment next door to ask if they see the person who took my phone and a guy told me that there were drunk guys who passed by my door.. for sure.. it's was them who took it.
If only I don't spend much time in the shower I am sure I still have my phone til now. Because From then on,I have never lost any of my cellphones again..
