Ok i really feel so sad about this all . All i can see is racism all over the world .I wasn't even knowing what it all meant or felt like till when i was in college . But when i came in contact to another part of the world through phone , net i started to know its real meaning . All i want to tell those people who think they got something better than others or thinks their country good and comfortable is just stop doing that . You all not doing any good but just hurting other feelings and showing your own bad nature . I just hate people when they comment like "you don't know better english " and i say yes because its not my native language and it just obvious . I want to divert MYLot admins attention to this post because i feel it is very serious matter and i want staffs to moderate those posts where people just post anything to dominate others .I know i will get few negative replies here too .

MyLot has members from all over the world - many of whom do not have English as their first language. It is against mylot's guidelines to criticize another member's English, grammar or spelling, so if anyone does that to you, you CAN report them to admin by using the little "!" button next to their post. You seem to be fairly new here, I hope you will discover, as most of us have, that MOST of the people here are really nice. Sometimes you just have to learn to ignore the ones who are not nice. Don't let them upset you, if they are being mean it is probably becasue there is something lacking in their own life.

Hello aakansha12 , I know what you mean by some very rude and inconsiderate people. I have had to deal with racist all my life, especially in my own country where I am native to North America and yet treated like an outsider in my home town and my home state. English is my first language but not my native language. I just would report bad behavior. I used to belong to another question and answer site but decided to leave it because all the rudeness wasn't worth a response and not worth my time.

I know what you mean about racism here in our own country. I am as Native American as you can get (I am Sioux) and you wouldn't believe how I am treated. I lived in South Dakota on the reservation for a while, and I actually got pulled over by the police because I looked "suspicious"....their way of saying that I was in a "white town" and shouldn't have been. I happily moved back here to Virginia as fast as I could. Good Luck to you. I hope that maybe one day the people in this country will realize that the US is here because of immigrants....all except for the majority of my ancestors.

Yeah I do believe the "suspicious" one . You would think we would be beyond all of this now but those of us who have lived it all of our lives know better.

The best thing to do is ignore people. Since myLot is typed and not face-to-face, it is sometimes hard to imply what one actually means. So, if you read something you don't like, just ignore it. Or you could comment on the comment. A lot of discussions on here are clarified by a little communication. That's what we're here for, anyway. And I personally applaud anyone who speaks fluently (or close to it) in a second language.

hi aakansha i think you are right. it is not our native language and not the native language of so many users on mylot who come from carious countries to take part in the discussions. all these members from mylot have made the site global and so huge as it has become.i think the mylot users should give people some leeway on this matter and not be so adamant on very good use of the english language.and the only people who would pass negative remarks on this discussion are the ones who will not understand the problems that people face whose native language is not english.i am proud to have you as a friend on mylot after seeing that you have raised this discussion.happy mylotting to you.kudos to you aakansha.

I dont think mylot have problem with racist and also the members. because i never experience being judge of my writing. I always said that im not good in english, i know how to speak and im good at it but in writing, i dont. Although im a frustrated writer. I sometimes mis spell my words or my grammar is not correct, but who cares as long as i can express my feeling and understand me. Second, about the negative replies, for me it doesnt matter, as long as i earned from their comments whether its negative or not.

Yeah. Best way to counter is to ignore. Time will come that they will get tired of doing that and what do they get in return for doing that? Nothing. You know you're not doing anything. It's not your native language, so what? You know something that other people don't know and the know something that you don't know right? Don't feel bad about their comments, they don't know what they're saying. You're just standing in your own place, don't let a non-sense comment destruct you don't. You are more than just a demeaning comment. Be strong and confident.

You have a 'report' feature with every discussion and response and if you feel that some posts are insulting you or others, you must use that option. Every part of the world, doesn't have English as their mother tongue, so it is possible that some of us will not use proper Englihs but the best thing is that we understand each other. I am sure when you will be a little old at mylo, you will have a good command over this language.

Hmmm haven't seen that kind of remarks on some one's comment since i got here, or probably i never got to cross one. I thought you could only see that kind of stuff on youtube when people say something about your english or getting asked either you accept it or not. it's horrible to say some thing like that some are so obsesse with english that they think there perfect to insult others. well, those are such loosers so just get away from them.

Hi aakansha, I don't know if you can call this racism . I think the best way to deal with such comments is by taking it in a positive spirit. None of us is perfect- having said that we can make some effort with our posts. It is going to help us improve our language skills. At the same time if the criticism is constructive i see no harm in it - all the best on mylot

Hey aak, welcome to my lot and dont worry about people who sound racial as most of them really are a waste of time. Your english is pretty good from my end so whoever critizes that is simply jealous that you are making an effort in learning another language. Just ignore the rude people here as they really have no lives of their own so I just suggest you dont let this affect your experience here in my lot. Most of us are really lovely people who are here to help you and be your friend. If you encounter any rude person, simply ignore them and give them a negative rating. I hope you will enjoy your experience here as this place is like my home and I have a lot of lovely people as my friends and if you need an extra friend you can add me to your friend list. Happy my lotting

don't get so affected with those post, besides everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Regarding English, there is nothing wrong if one cannot write English as good as other people but of course it has to be clear. People make mistakes... -thanks by batman

Unfortunately this is the way of the world and there is nothing we can do to change such a popular method of criticism. Of course it can be hurtful but ignore it and you should be fine. I hate to see examples of it but it's all around us... Be the better person.

Congratulations on this discussion. It takes a positive attitude to explore these things, bring them out into the open and get rid of them as best we can. Prejudice is an inhibiting thing for anyone who indulges in it. I know its an indulgence and it inhibits relationships. I have so many promising and positive relationships with people because I don't let this bother me. Anyone who believes he is better than another because of some external thing like language or colour is a fool. I will testify to that anywhere. Love you too!

Hey there, I agree with some of the other responders it's best just to ignore those comments if you feel like someone is being racist. If they can draw you into their ignorance by getting ur attention then you respond. They are happy and they succeed but when you ignore it they don't know if they succeed of not so pretty soon they wind up fading on out into the background. Just continue to do ur thing here on mylot, stay focused on the people that are happy and upbeat and that add positive stimulation to ur messages and the others will sooner or later get the hint that they are being ignored and they will just go away. Hope this helps some. take care, stay strong, happy mylotting!

you are right it is very sad that there is so much racism out there, i for 1 am sorry that you have to suffer it day and day out, i just think that that sort of people have problems that they cannot deal with in their own lives and they are lashing out in there own way, or they are more than likely very low on intelligence, i hope its the former and they get there problems sorted out, i know its hard but you will have to some how let it wash over you and don't let it get to you, take care lol....

Racism is a very tough subject and even sometimes hard to decipher, whether someone is being verbally racist or acting in a racist manner. This day and age, people are trying to gel all races and creeds through language, attitude and apperance. Sometimes, people are just trying to relate to others and the message in its entirety comes across a little weird without that intent. I mean to call racisim, or call out a racist act, takes a clear understanding of the subject and view the situation with out bias.
