I make them from scratch. We use rice flour, very good.

Very smooth, and it doesn't rise as high, but very good. Not gummy.

I wouldn't use mixes either except with using coupons and a sale at my local shaws I was able to get a bunch of the bisquick containers that all you do is add water to them. I then take the containers after I have used them and mix up the dry ingrediants for cookies in them... and then all I have to is add the liquid.... I use these when I am in a hurry...

It still only takes a few minutes tops to toss 1 cup flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, 2 tablespoons oil, 1 egg and 3/4 cup milk in a bowl and mix.

he he.. thanks for the recipe...however the bisquick ones were free with coupons and I tend to use them when we go camping as I like to have everything prepared, it makes it so much easier....

If I were to use a pancake mix, I would have find one that is all natural. I don't like additives.

What recipe do you use? Preparing the skillet is necessary too.

I have had pancakes both ways and really can't tell the difference if the mix is a good one. Then again everything homemade is usually good unless you mess up the recipe. For kids I would rather they use the mix. LOL

I have had some mixes that really weren't good. It is so quick to whip up a batch from scratch.

Try making your own and put it in a container. You won't be sorry.

If you are frugal, as I am, make a batch of pancake mix and store it in your pantry.

I have used bisquick for pancakes, but do not care for the flavor of them.

My husband has brought home pancake mixes when he has done the shopping. I end up giving them to our kids because I don't like them.

I used to make pancakes homemade, Bisquick, and other kinds of mixes, but now I only use the kind you only mix with water. It comes out just as good as other pancakes I made, as I'm getting older I find easier ways of doing things because I have less energy, but they really do taste good.

Making a mix from scratch and storing it will save you time and money too.

I have a recipe for pancake mix that I plan on tossing together and putting in a plastic container for gifts for my children. That way they only need to add the eggs and oil.
