I'm Thinking About Writing A Book About Our Pets. Want To Help Me?

Seriously, I am. I've read so many true stories kind of books about pets that belong to other people and have thoroughly enjoyed them! In fact, I'm in the middle of reading one now called "Purr-able's From Heaven" and I love it! It's really neat how people can connect God's work through our pets. However, that's not what I'm thinking of doing but a simple book on some fun things we've done with our pets or their funny antics that would make one smile or laugh. It would do so much for an animal lover in the hospital, rehab or any of those places or even at home. So if you have a story to tell, please by all means, pass them on! I'd very much would like to have your names and the state that you live in too so I could put it at the end of your story. So if you're interested in helping me out here, by all means do so here or in a pm so that I could give you my email address to send it to.

As I just suggested to Oreo maybe the three of us could collaborate about a story about Sassy. I probably have tons of stories I could tell--actually on and off I am writing a fictional story--taken from a cat's viewpoint--and the main star is of course Pyewacket--fairly autobiographical in ideas

Saw your response under OReo--yup between the three of us we can come up with a pretty darn good story---I still have the names of all the people involved who I contacted...and I could even track down my discussions I made here to ask for help--have about three or four of them---might even get started on it this coming week if my hand cooperates

I'd love to write a book some day about my life but I can't do it now with my parents still around because it would really crush my mom and I don't want to do that. I mean, I know she did the best that she could and all but she did make a lot of mistakes which really screwed me up for a long long time but I've overcome it so I'm good now but even later on in life, she dogged me like I was a nobody to her and even threw my past in my face through my husband which was the last straw and I told my dad so. He must've talked to her because since then, she has done a complete 180 but still, I don't trust her like I'd like to. I love her to the end of the earth but I can't hand her my feelings on a plate and trust her with them because of the past. I think my book would be a encyclopedia in size. LOL

Speaking of pets and about you writing a book, maybe this may be a food for thoughts. I have always wondered why residents living in condos and apartments go through all the trouble to still keep pets.
I mean most condos do not allow pets strictly, yet there are those who would flout the rules to do so. What is their motivation? Would this be a point of discussion in your book?

I've never heard of having a condo and not being able to have pets. After all, the people own the place. Granted, there's no doubt rules that has to be followed but it's not an apartment that's being rented but a condo which is bought.
Anyway, no, that's not my idea of a book, I want cute stories, how you got your pet, funny things your pet has done to make you laugh or something inspirational about your pet. Let me know if you're interested!

You know I will be glad to share some stories with you. Writing a book is a great idea. I don't have the time right now to write some of the stories but will PM you with my email. I have been planning on exchanging email addresses with you anyway, if mylot ever went kapooey I wouldn't want to loose touch with you. I might need you sometime to take care of some of my light work.

My three dogs saved my life. I had an accident and was unconconscious for about 2 to 3 days when I was found by some neighbors. Finally after listening to their non stop howling and barking someone called the police and I was rushed to the hospital. At the hospital I was only given a few hours to live. Then the prognosis was I would never walk again as I had broken/fractured my back in three places. During my painful rehab in a nursing home my only thoughts and motivation was to disprove all the doctors and get back home to my babies. I short my beloved pets not only saved my life but motivated me to walk again.
I do not mind my ID and state of Georgia being used but not my "real" name.

whiteheather, I had to read and re-read your response! I'm shocked! And amazed! Wow! That is incredible! Please send me your story if you will! I think that is a cool idea, and I would like to contribute to your book! I am planning on writing a cook book in the next few months, mostlyof my own recipes that I have created, but I think I want to add a section for contributions.. sooo If you're interested =)
But I have a few questions for you - Is this idea just a glimmer in your eye at the moment, or have you actively started to pursue it? Would you be okay with creating a contract - yknow, just because I am paranoid about this stuff? =)

Hi rebelmel.... I'm not doing contracts or the like, just getting some cool pet stories from different people in different walks of life to add to my book. I would love to have their names and the state that they're from so the people are recognized for giving the story. I like the idea you have of writing or reporting stories people have about their pets. I have pets but sadly, no stories to share with you. It would cheer up people. Laughter is a good medicine.

Cats can hold their own too sometimes. I love both cats and dogs and could never pick between the two. Now I'm looking for stories in detail. Do you have any?
