I personally would recommend that kids, spend time outdoors, and participate in extra-curricular activities, than sit at home glued to the TV sets, and rot their brain with all the filth that is being openly televised. I would not totally ban TV for kids, but would allot a couple of hours a day so that everything they do is in control and doesn't cross it's limits. For me 2 hours of TV, under parental supervision would be beneficial.

my mother always prohibit us from watching tv from too long when i we are kids.. she always say that we can watch the series again because we can watch it in the internet.. and i know that watching nonsense cartoons can only teach us nonsense things.. so i would say that give a child a ball and let the child play it.. by playing outdoor the child can meet and have new friends.. and it is good for the child's health because it serves as the child's exercise.. that is why i prohibit my nephew and niece from watching cartoons..

I think one hour a day is enough. There is not alot of quality tv on for young children I believe. After dinner time there really is not much for a child younger than thirteen to be watching as far as I'm concern. I also believe the quality of TV has taken a nose dive due to the reality garbage that the networks are producing.

i prefer 2-3 hours for kids to wath TV.. and spend their time more outdoors with their friends.. i know a child here in our place who is mentally abnormal because his parents let him stay at home everyday since he was still a baby to watch telvision all day long.. so now he's 7 years old but he acts like a 2-year old boy..

If I were to have kids, I would have them outside most of the time, and let them watch specific shows that they really like, and then anything worthless....tv would be off.
