Hello, I have a lot of mylot friends. I like to go to their profiles to find stuff to comment on... thing is a lot of my mylot friends haven't be on in a looooong time. And I'm not talking taking off a week. I'm talking like, 3 months. Is this normal for people do do on here? Because I don't want inactive members on my friends list. I'd rather people that I can interact with! What do you do in this situation. Is is okay to delete someone from your friends list because they don't come on for a certain length of time?

Well, as you know many people have jobs, maybe it's a new job and they have to spend more time there to get where they need to be. Also family and health takes up a good amount of our time. We don't know what the thing is that's keeping people from being able to come in for awhile. It might be a few days or it could be several months. So it's hard to say if someone should be deleted.

I'm so sorry that you need a job. I certainly hope that you get one soon. I do know that with disability checks you are not even getting by. I've been fighting for that stupid little check and have yet to get it. It might not be much but it would sure help if I had it. I can not work either and not having a check every month sure hurts.
Blessings to you and I hope your luck turns for the better.

Many people have jobs! What's wrong with me???? I just filled out 20 job applications last week and all the places were hiring, but not a one call back. And the messed up part is that I was filling applications for jobs that no one else would want. Jobs at the bottom of the stack. Things that I wouldn't get paid much for, but earn enough to suppliment my disability and be about to have time left over to still focus on becoming a freelancer. Anyhoo, that's off the subject. Sorry. I just WANT A JOB!

Moondancer, I got a lawyer to work my disability case... and even then it took 2 years to get on it. Then, I got taken off of it because someone stole my itendity about 6 years ago and racked up some bad checks in my name. So, I have to fight that and get my checks back, but even then... I'm just lucky that I'm allowed to double my disability check with a job... just got to figure out a way to get the job! Haha.

I think that everyone here is having this problem.People asked to be accepted as friends in great enthusiasm and never respond to our discussion or raise any.
Worst of it is some of them are active with others and never care to turn their heads to us who have accepted their wish to be added as friends.Well it is absolutely fine to delete the ones you think are not worth sitting there inactive for long.

Well, from time to time many of us find some on our friends list who has dropped from this site. Maybe it is due to things in their life going on, or not being happy with what this site offers, or some might have been Banned from here as well. I know there are many in here including me who will go in and remove some of the inactive friends but the choice is yours as well.

I do have 600 over friends and only a handful will come to support my discussions. The rest are sleeping partners who never even response to my discussions. I have already deleted so many which I am confident are no longer subscribing to mylot. I think I need to do some cleaning up again as I wouldn't want them to become decorative items in my list.

Thanks for your response. I see you have an idea where I'm coming from. I don't want to be evil stepmother type matierial here, but for me, mylot is not JUST about talking to people, it's about talking to people that respond to me and we both get paid for the pleasure. So, why hang on to contacts that don't talk to me?

Hi Dismalgrin,
I understand what u feel when u come across such inactive friends.
Dont worry its a reality and not just in mylot but in every phase of life.
More than 95% of my friends are inactive and i never lost hope.
IU can always get someone else here and ya life is all about surviving inspite of walking alone. I am sure u will succeed in ur run of life.
Never feel lonely because the more lonely u feel, the more weak u shall become.
All the best to u.

Awww, that is some sweet sentiments. Thanks. I guess I just sit here and wonder how hard is it going to be to wade through all these inactive friends to participate in discussions my active friends are making.

i know what you mean. but the only friends i delete is ones that either constantly get on my nerves by either being rude while commenting in my discussions or always just making discussions only about how other sites make money etc. actually i've only removed 2 people from my friends list and that was the reasons. i do have friends that never seem to make a new discussion any more but they comment on mine, so im still happy with them altho i do try to get them to update a discussion or 2 now and then

Hehe, then you don't want me as a friend! I haven't really started too many discussions lately. I mostly like to go areound and comment on others. And I do tend to hang out a lot in the money making posts because this is also a subject that interests me lately.

I don't delete my friends unless I know for a fact they are not returning to myLot. If they are inactive, that's fine. A couple of my friends have been away for almost a year and they are still on my list. Some have returned after that length of time and been active again. Sometimes schedules change, people change and life changes. They might be more active on a site where they earn more than here on myLot.

Well, where are my buddies? like hiccup and gvnorman and... can't remember any other names right now, but they are all disappearing!

The only time I remove a friend is if they give me reason, like if they send me promotional type PMs but they have never once sent a 'how are you doing Webmann?' PMs. They are not concerned with me, they are all about getting paid and those people aren't really trying to be friends in my opinion.
Sometimes people just ask to be friends for that reason and I delete them just as fast as they can send PMs. :)
Other than that it doesn't cost me anything to leave them active.

That sounds like a smart reason to remove a friend for!

for me Inactive members are okay, I don't bother to delete them as I am giving them a chance to participate in my future discussion if they had decided to be active again. Maybe its our own preferences on what we should do with our profile. Good thing you are cleaning yours.

The only reason I will delete is if they are trying to get me to join other sites, or if we really have nothing in common at all and our interests and opinions have grown very far apart. I know I only respnd to posts that interest me and if the poster has nothing I care about I may not reply, so I am sure for them it is the same.

See, I'm here for networking with others and I feel that part of that is joining other sites, however if the person that refers me does not give me any help with using the other site after I join under then, then they are not really investing much of themselves into the referal process so I don't think that is right either. But, thank you very much for your response!

It is your profile and your friends list, isn't it? and to add more simplicity to your problem, is that they are inactive. Hence even if you will delete them, there will no one be complaining you.
So, my money is on deleting them. So, what are you going to do with them?

I guess I will just delete the ones that are VERY inactive. And the ones that I know on other sites but are only inactive on this one I will keep... that way I can hound them to come back over here. Hehe. And my boys I'll keep too, because they always gave me a laugh before and I can't bare to just delete them out right like that. I'm making this harder than I need too. I'm way to emotional over online friends. Hehe.

well, i don't know about that since I am still very much new to this site. I don't want inactive friends either because it's a waste of space and can't seem to find those who are real friends and active in mylot. come to think of it, I haven't thought of checking my friends list and see those who are inactive. better see to it.

Thanks for your response. I guess I should have more posts right now. Haha. I looked at your name and realized you are pretty new... but your post count is higher than mine! Haha. So, see, I'm more inactive than you are!
