When I wash my clothes by hand, I like to use soap better than laundry powder. But if I use laundry powder to wash my clothes by hand, my hands will feel uncomfortable after that. I think that it is due to the chemicals contained in the laundry powder. So how about you? Do you have the same case, please?

CLEANING CLOTHES WHILE SHOWERING OR BATHING I think I got a weird method in washing my clothes, I do it when the clothes still dressed to my body while taking shower or bathe and to answer your question I used bath soap bar to clean it up. Especially, some extra at shirt collar part. For trouser, I apply bath soap bar to its inner part and not the external or some says as face part. Not just save water, but I feel more comfortable while enjoying my clothes durability and long lasting(from fade) because I am not using any detergent compound. OUT OF THE TOPIC BUT KEENLY WANT TO SHARE THIS STORY Similarly if I want to wash my house porch area. I will connect the rubber hose from the water tap to my water bucket(big size), fill up the water bucket with water, and bathing while enjoying sweeping the floor. Honestly William, I don't want to waste water and must look for at least 2-in-1.......HAHAHA! weird but this is my true statement. Save water.....save the world water source...!!!

Hello Michael. I think that it is a good idea to re-use the water to sweep the floor while bathing because the water flowing on the floor can be used to make the floor clean. But I am sorry to say that I can not do so. I live in an apartment on the fifth floor on campus...Thanks for sharing, Michael.

Both of them. I use to pour my clothes in a bucket for the whole night with water and laundry powder. Then in the morning, I use soap to wash them. By this method, I feel my work is a little easy.

Hello sanuanu. Sometimes I also soak my clothes with laundry powder overnight and wash them the next day, but I use soap to wash the collars and the sleeves.

Hello sweety. Now it is summer time and I use soap to wash my summer clothes as it is easier to wash with a bar of soap. We use more often the washing machine in winter when we wear thick clothes.

In fact I seldom wash clothes by hand. I just let the washing machine to do this housework. But if I have to wash clothes by hand, I prefer to use the soap. As I found the laundry powder has less bubbles. Besides, I am afraid I will use a lot of laundry powder. A soap will be better since it will finish for a long time:) I love China

yes some people will get skin irritation,if they use some soaps. but i don;t have that problem. if u have too much alergy with it,show it to doctor and use any ointments for alergy.u'r problem can be solved. if i wash by hands,i use both soap and powder. i will soak clothes in bucket full of water and 2 spoons powder. after soaking one hour like that, then i will wash with soap. this is indian method. now a days many people are having washing machine and in it i will use only laundry powder.

Hello bearound. It seems that all of the brands of laundry powder on sale in the supermarkets are good because I knew their brand names a long time ago. I think that I need to be careful with it when using it. So I will only use the washing machine when using laundry powder. Take care, friend.

I never wash my clothes by hand. But if I ran into a snag and needed something right away, I would use a mild liquid detergent. It's not as hard on the hands. Laundry powder has all kinds of chemicals in it that would irritate the skin. Some have bleach and that's miserable on the hands. I wash everything in the automatic washer since it's easier, faster and I believe cleaner.

Hello carolbee. You are right that some laundry powder contains bleach. It is just this bleach stuff that makes my hands feel uncomfortable. It is the main cause, I think. But if I don't wash long, it is ok. Thanks, friend. Good day.

If I am washing clothes by hand, I'll first use laundry powder to soak them in hot water for some time so that the dirt becomes easier to clean...then if I find some particular area more dirty (like cuffs and collars), I'll scrub them with a soap bar.

A good idea to use some warm water. I usually use some warm water in cold weather when I use laundry powder, but not when it is hot in summer. I have a nice and soft brush to scrub the cuffs and collars and I like to use it a lot as it helps a lot. Take care, friend.

I don't remember when it was the last time when I washed my clothes by hand. In the case I would have to do my clothes by hand, I would probably use liquid home made detergent, all natural....

I prefer using laundry powder. Most of our laundry powder here in the Philippines are environment friendly. I don't get any allergies form the powder. But I usually use the washing machine. I don't buy clothes that must be hand washed. Most of my clothes go directly to the washing machine if they are needed to be washed.

Hello Mr.Plus. I use washing machines for heavy clothes in cold weather, not for light clothes, especially in summer. Take care, Mr.Plus.

Same here! My hands often feel irritated and my skin feels dry after using liquid laundry detergent for hand washables. There are some milder brands such as Woolite available and also Dreft, which is a laundry detergent that is mild enough for babies and childrens clothing. It should be easier on the hands for hand washable laundry. Whenever possible I use those when I have to wash something by hand.

Hello beauty queen. It is a good idea to use those mild brands. I will try to find some when I have to buy some in the mall next time. Thank you, friend. Take care.

Hello William my friend. I have this technique of putting the cloths in water with laundry powder and let them sit like that for about an hour, and after that i go and wash them, and this makes the process much easier. I have not tried washing clothes with soap and i was wandering, how good is it ? Is it as good as the laundry detergent, or worse / better ?

Hello friend. It is easier to remove the laundry powder out of the clothes using soap compared with using laundry powder, as can be seen from the clean water. Give it a try, and you will find the difference. Good day to you, elitess.

I usually use bar soap when I wash my clothes by hand. Thous it is easier and faster when you use powder detergent when washing clothes by hand but as you said, it will damage our hands. I had that experience before when I don;t have a washing machince yet. Even the bar soap there are some kind that damage your hands. So, it is better to use washing machine..

Hello Bebs. A good idea to use washing machine, but I do not use it much when it is warm and hot in summer as the clothes are light, not heavy any more. I need to think about it...

I have the same cas whenever I use laundry powder. I prefer to use both. I had it first soaked in laundry powder for a few minutes, 30 minutes maximum if I'm soaking white clothes and 25 mins for colored clothes. Then I use the use for cleaning it with my hands. It's really uncomfy for the hands but I'd rather have clean clothes than soft hands. lol

hello william! ^^ its been a long time. i use a detergent bar when i wash my clothes with my hands. but i don't wash all my clothes. only my undies. for my other clothes, i pay someone to do it. and i let her use detergent powder to wash my clothes. but either i use a powder or a bar, the effect is still the same. my hands would "peel". they would dry out and the whitish old skin would peel away. its not very nice to look at but at least i have proofs that i still wash some of my clothes. ^^

Well, I prefer laundry powder, although I don't have any particular preference since I don't really wash my clothes more often. We use the washing machine to lighten the load of our household help, who seems to be overworked. Sometimes I wash my own clothes if I see that she's busy and I need to wash 'em because I'll use them the following days. I see that in some cases, some detergents are really bad for the hands...that's truly sad. So our helper choose the brand that is suitable for her skin, as it does not cause irritation. I guess it all depends on the person's skin and hands...

I agree with you that it depends on the person's skin.

I think there is difference between detergent bars and soaps. Soap is the one we use when taking a shower bath. Detergent is usually used for laundry. Anyway, I prefer using a detergent bar when washing my clothes. I am a man but I learned to wash my own clothes when my mother was away for a long time. I think laundry powder is more harmful to our hands. I stopped using it already.

When i wash my clothes by hand, i still prefer to use laundry powder. I will soak my clothes especially, my toddler clothes, before i washed them. I ever use soap to wash my clothes and seems it is alright for me. But, as for my toddler clothes, it seems that the smell and dirts still remain there. So, i still prefer to use laundry powder. Well, i think you must washed your hands with soap after you had washed your clothes in laundry powder. So that, your hands won't felt uncomfortable..
