I count my blessings when I read how many people in the world go hungry and have no money to call their own. I dread old age, because our government has no social security for the aged. Life has been reasonably kind to me till now. I cant say I have been on the top or even middle, but then Im not bad off too. I manage to make ends meet with a lot of pulling and pushing, but I have the support of my husband and son. They are good people to be around. How has life treated you guys. Are you all as happy as I am, better or worse ? Tell all.

Not to long ago I use to say why does God give my so much to deal with, until my aunt lost her husband and two of her five children with in a year and she said to everyone God would not give me something that I cannot handle now I see my life situation as it is great I am poor I do have three children and am twenty-two and I live in a one bed room but the best thing in all my life is that smile that my children give me everyday and that we are all healty and alive together. so yes I belive LIfe has been kind to me because It has never given me a challenge that I would not be able to over come.

Oh diana, your poor aunt, and yet so brave. It must haave killed her, but she has held on to faith. Not many of us can do that in the face of adverse circumstances. Hats off to her. As for you dear, I think you got a lot of responsibilities in life very early, for at 22 with three children to cope must have been an eye opener. I can fully understand your problems, not having money and so many mouths to feed. But of course, as you see the positive side of their smiles and health, it will give you courage to go ahead in life. I sure hope the kids appreciate all that you are doing for them when they grow up. Good luck and God Bless.

Yes elite, we must count our blessings always and thank God for all the big and small mercies in life. Yes, we are more fortunate than a lot of other people. Let us hope life will always be kind to us and lady luck always smiling down on us. Good luck and God Bless you too.

Hi bhanu, yes old age is scary. However, its always me when we think of old age and not our loved ones. Your line, who will look after me smacks of self pity. The same applies to your wife, more so for women are fragile and more emotional. Yes, I totally agree with you, relationship is above all, but then it does not fill the stomach. So, we have to save for our old age. Thanks.

Hi Ketty,
Keeping aside the ups and downs that are not so serious in nature I have least to complain against my life. I have been so far lucky guy to go everything in my desired way.
I got my sought after job on the very first appearance in the interview and now with a son of 7.1 years old wish that life does not fall cruel on me and let me finish the voyage smoothly.

Hi krajibg, believe me, Im really glad to know most of my friends here are not doing too bad. Of course we all have our ups and downs, but other than that, we sail through life more comfortably than most. We should thank God for all the big and small mercies in life. Big hug to your son from me.

insead of looking at what i do not have or did not get in life i choose to look at the good i have. for one i have a wonderful son who is the gift of my life. i had great parents growing up and lived in a nice house with a pool at least for a little while until they divorced. then things got hard. i have a car that still runs after 8 years (thank goodness as i cannot afford to buy a new or even used one at this point), i have my health to a certain degree and what i do not have i am working on like losing weight and trying to be more active to improve my health. i have a nice home to live in that we are struggling to hold onto to so i am grateful for all i have. has life been kind to me you ask. i guess that depends on how you look at it. nothing worthwhile is easy as i have come to learn.

Hi mikeysmom, hope mikey is doing well. Your positive attitude in life must be a great help to you. Its not easy to be optimistic in life when times are tough, but by seeing all that you have instead of the have nots, you are meting life with your head held high. Great going. Keep it up and all the best with the have nots too.

Yes I feel myself happy. There are many things I could not achieve. But I'm fortunate enough that I'm living in the society in some how honorable position. Two times a day I can eat sufficiently.I have a house and I have many things that make my life enjoyable.I could make my wife and daughter happy. But the poor people who live in the slums they can't earn sufficient money to buy foods for him or her and family.
In this respect I quote Persian poet Hafiz : once a man was lamenting that he has no shoes. Then the poet told the man see that man he has no legs.At least you have legs.

Yes bhanu, we have been blessed and more so because we know and can see the million things we have been blessed with. Thank God.! The less fortunate are the ones who may have many a lot to complain about. Very philosophical your poet Hafiz. Enjoyed it immensely. Thanks.

Well, I can say that I had my share of life's ups and downs but I can also say that life is still good to me because I still have my family that supports me. I can still have all the things that I want. Most of all I still have GOD beside me to guide and support me no matter what happens. Godspeed....

I always complaining about my life, how I am lack of money every month, plus every single thing that makes my life hard. But when ever I pray to God it will always cross my mind the suffering of people who are less fortunate than me..who gone through hunger everyday..So I end up humbly asking to God to hear their prayer than mine...cos they need it the most...It makes me stronger every time i did that, remembering how fortunate I am actually. Have a nice day You all!

Dont we all do that shikaymaru. There are times when we all fight with God, wondering how we will manage all the tomorrows of life. But He has taken care of us and will always do so. I think it is very noble of you to want God to listen to the prayers of the less fortunate. Not many can do that. I get so involved in my own problems with God, I forget the worlds unfortunates. Im sure God will give you all the happiness you deserve, just for asking Him to look after the less fortunate. Thanks. Its an eye opener.

Yes, I think life has been kind to me. Though I didn't think so for some time in the past because of some sufferings I had to go through. However, I have realized that I used to expect too much from life. I mean, no one can grow up without some difficulties. That's what growing up takes. Right?
By the way, in my opinion, life will only be kind of you if you think so.

Hi hedwig, life is never always kind to us. She plays tricks with us, and we have to be firm in our belief that the worst will pass away. Part of growing up is to know that the ups and downs will come. Yes, how you look at life, life will take that turn. Count our blessings for all that we have and not what we dont have. Life will be so much more pleasant.

I guess you are right. Its how we see ourselves that makes all the difference. Im really glad for both of you. Your boyfriend passed through some pretty bad times, with no father and no food. It must have been horrible. Well now his days are improved and he has you beside him to give him the much needed love and support. Good Luck and God Bless.

So far, life has been kind to me though I have some financial problems from time to time I can still recover. I'm healthy and had a job, I have a happy family and we still can cope up with our needs everyday. For me, God has blessed me with all this things. I have good friends and life has been beautiful.

I enjoy my life with love from my parents and my friends. Love is my treasure.
I feel fortunate to retain so much happiness in my prime. Life is a way we should depend on. Why not decorate it with warmness and kindness from our heart? Remember more kindness given, abandon those insults. Consider the agony as the power from the past that we should embalm. I am glad that I know how to continue my life, which my past decades taught me. Till now I am a student of my life. Life treat me well

May it always be kind on you and your loved ones.

Hi ketybhagat,i too feel sad when i see the poor people struggling for the food and when i compared to them i feel i was very blessed by the god and my parents for such a good life given to me.I should thank them for giving me such a wonderful life. It's very sad that i'm still unable to help the poor people around me.I can feed them for one day but not daily so i decided to work for them in future as soon as i get my job.Hope i'll do it soon. Thanks for nice discussion friend.

Wow, you will actually go out of your way to help the needy when you get a job. Thats really generous of you. I barely have enough for my family, so feeding others is difficult, though I never trow away food. i wrap it up and leave it outside my house. There are so many hungry people, who whisk it away even before i reach my building. Good luck in your job hunting. Yes, we are blessed and thank the Lord for it.

i could definitely say that life has been very kind to me as i have a beautiful and loving family, i am healthy and happy, and although i can't say that we are rich, we have enough to support our family's basic needs. sometimes, we encounter some problems and trials but those are all part life right? and those could make the bond stronger.

Absolutely ! Its these trials of life that make the family bonding strong. Yes, we are the lucky few who can boast of three square meals and some money in the pocket. The ups and downs of life will continue, so long as we overcome the downs with a smile and dignity of life. Thanks.
