I remember when I was little I found a worm in an apple that I was eating. I was pretty grossed out about it. I wound up throwing the apple away because of it. I know that's wasting but hey I was freaked out by the worm. Have you ever found a worm in an apple before?

I never put apples in the freezer before. You sure do freeze a lot of things. Thanks for giving me the idea.

As anyone will tell you, half a worm is much worse than a whole worm. We buy organic fruit and vegetables so we often have critters in them, I just wash real well and cut out the bad parts.

I would love to buy all organic fruit and vegetables but we just can't afford it. It would be eaten up way too fast for the money spent to go so quickly.

I have been lucky enough to never find a worm in an apple that I was actually eating, but I have seen worms in apples before. Fortunately I saw them before I started to eat it. That is part of the reason why I usually cut my apple up before eating it.

Yes, you are very lucky to have not found one. Good point to always cut the apple first.

What's worse than finding a worm in an apple? Finding half a worm.

Not for many, many years. All fruit is sprayed with poisonous insecticides. I wash apples thoroughly before consuming them. The only really safe fruit is those inside a skin like papaya or bananas or oranges. I do have vivid memories as a child though seeing worms in apples. I think we just threw out that part and ate the rest! I don't think that I coul ddo it now though

You're right about that. Except for the organic fruits. Most of us can't afford them though.

I can understand why there would be more in homegrown ones.

I've found lots of worms in apples and usually if I find it after I've taken a bite can't eat another bite for weeks after. I am really good about checking for worm holes first though so very rarely happens to me now.

no but in an ear of corn I saw one this year at the grocery store. I had not seen a worm in a ear of corn since I was a kid and it still is a lil gross even as an adult... yes I did reject that ear of corn!
