Taking a dump in public

Okay time for me to start an odd topic here. My hot water heater is out and I had to turn off the water in the house. Now I needed to take a dump really bad. So instead of bothering with refilling the toilet tank I drove about a mile away to the Target store. I took my morning dump there. Dad using the bathroom will be enough for me refilling the toilet etc. So have you ever decided to take a dump elsewhere instead of your house for any reason at all? And if so, what reason(s) prompted this action? And why do we say take a dump? I prefer to leave it not take one. Hahahaha!

When I remodeled my kitchen/bathroom things were okay until the day they pulled the bathroom apart...I had to go up to the Kwik trip store and use theirs! It was kinda of embarassing but I stopped and bought a lottery ticket to make myself feel better about using their facilities! LOL

lol! you make me laugh. i really only poop at my own house. i really can't go anywhere else, unless it is an absolute emergency. i don't know why- i guess i don't want people hearing me or anything, and i like to be comfortable in my own home and get a book and just have some peace and quiet for a bit. lol

Thats funny! No, Im right there with you. I can take a dump anywhere and I have no discretion because I guess Im a country gal, and when you gotta go--YOU GOTTA GO! LOL. My boyfriend he is completely opposite and he will avoid going to the bathroom in public places with a vengeance and will not use a outdoor bathroom stall. I carry sanitizer in my purse so I just make sure I sanitize the seat and after then I'll wash my hands as soon as possible but its nothing I lose sleep over. He doesn't mind going out in the woods, hehe.

I don't like using public toilets, so I try to make sure I'm never 'caught short'. However, I once had to pull over to the side of the road during a long drive, and walked into the bushes in order to have a pee. Unfortunately, I sat on an electric fence! I thought I'd had a heart attack for a moment - it scared the living daylights out of me - bwahahaa! So, be careful in the long grass ... you never know what might be hiding in there!

Oh Grandpa! Isn't life GRAND?! LOL It can be sometimes but other times, NOT. I remember living in Texas and our septic tank had collapsed and water going EVERYWHERE in our house! It was horrible!! The tank was old old and made of fiberglass and is why it collapsed like it did. Times had changed since it was put in. Lucky us, huh? After cleaning up the mess a few times I got sick as a dog for days after. Our insurance agent, thankfully, was nice and very understandable of my plight. We had to replace the carpet all throughout the whole house but yet, our insurance didn't cover a new septic tank. Luckily our friend and ex landlord knew of someone with a backhoe and knew how to get another septic tank and so on, put it in for A LOT less than it would've cost us. Normally we should've paid somewhere in the ball park of five thousand dollars but we ended up paying just over a thousand dollars. Whew! It's GREAT to know people with connections!! lol In the meantime, we had to use buckets for we lived too far out to go to any store or we'd have worn it by the time we got there! lol No kidding either!!
Now I've got something funny to tell you that I've already told another mylotter and friend. One time I was helping my mom put some things in the attic and I had to use the bathroom and I told her "Give me a sec, I've gotta go to the bathroom and drop off some sh!t" She liked to have fell out of the attic laughing so hard at me!! She says that I can come up with the damnest things. lmbo!

In an emergency, you have to do what you have to do. I would go to a public restroom if I had no facilities at home or no relative's house nearby.
However, we just had our water heater go out and we spent several days without hot water. We only turned off the water to the water heater. We still had cold water and my toilet is pretty old-fashioned, it only uses cold water.
It's fixed now and I am looking forward to that hot shower.

Haha...this is an odd topic, but its something that all of us have probably had to do at one time or another. We like to camp and my husband likes to go camp at a place where there isn't a bathroom, its really primitive, they do have a little bait store and they have a bathroom there but its so old and dirty looking, and its a little ways down from where we always camp. One morning I had to go really bad so I got in the car and drove to the store and it was still closed, I had no choice but to drive into the next town which is about 5 miles away and use the restroom at the McDonald's there, hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

I've used leaves and or newspapers for wiping in my camping days.
But not the comics as those are my favorite.
In your case I'd have done it on the side of the road.
Which I have also done before.

Yeah, but the thing is, this place is busy with people driving up and down the road, so there's really no privacy anywhere, if I have to pee, I'll do it beside the truck but I gotta make it fast before anyone comes driving by...I hate it..I keep telling him I need to get one of those luggable loos, you know its like a toilet seat you attach to a bucket, thats better than nothing, but he thinks I'm silly...ha.

Hey Grandpa Bob! You are so right! It should be "leave" and
certainly not "take"! lol No, I can't just "go" anywhere! I
prefer to use my own toilet! I have trouble using the public
ones to dump in! I guess it's a personal thing! I can't say
it is a female thing because my boyfriend saves it up from
work and comes running home and right to the bathroom to
dump his! lol So I guess it is an individual thing and a
personal preference! I sure do hope you get your hot water
heater fixed soon!

Since it is a discussion and I must say you have the courage to dumb outside the house.Since we are born in a civilized society atleast have a home and those people who are have been brought up with upmost care, will "thinks twice". Rather to dumb outside I will try anymeans to fix it.

i've done this before, during "unforeseen circumstances" but i prefer using the toilets of fastfoods and malls to public toilets.
one time, I saw this homeless woman. she was wearing a garbage bag around her skirt and squatting in the pavement. in full view of every pedestrian walking by.
guess the fastfood nearby wouldn't let her in.

Daing! Lol!....well I Never done anything like that. if I lived out in wilderness then I might consider takeing a dump out in the public. but if works I guess it was a smart choice. in the present, theres multiple resturants or stores that are a few blocks away from local housing areas that you can easily reached. unless you live out in the boonies...have I? Naa not that I can rember. if anything it had to be in a hotel.

lol... i had done that in the public many times as well grandpa bob... but not because my water in my house is not working... but it is more because i am already outside shopping or doing other stuffs and i just can't help it... :-) anyway, if i can help it, of course i will prefer to do it in my own house with my own privacy... take care and have a nice day...

Ha ha ha... well, I guess we say "Take a dump" because we're dumping our unwanted load!
I don't think I've ever had to go elsewhere to perform my morning tasks. The water has been out from time to time, owing to workmen being in the street, but I've always been able to wait. If you have a low cylinder, you could perhaps fill it with water collected in a "butt", lol, in the garden.
Brightest Blessings.

Actually I have a very difficult time taking/leaving a dump in public and can't believe I'm even discussing this but was laughing my behind off as I read your discussion. Have to admit the only time I've done it was when traveling away from home for more than a day.

yes
Before I had 2 bathrooms, I on a couple of occasions had to go find another place to go to the bathroom, and once it was a major dump - had to run to a nearby grocery store just a short time before it closed.
It was because of this that I finally had to say, its add a bath or move, I could not live with only one bathroom any longer.

Where I live, our town sewer lines are badly in need of replacing, but like many municipalities, there just isn't money to do the work. Instead there are frequent repairs performed, during which our water is turned off so that nothing goes into the sewer line. There is no 'filling the tank to get a flush' during these times, although I imagine the workers have been surprised more than once . Thankfully we live near several fast food restaurants. There facilities are generally clean, and since we can't use water we usually pick up some food at the same time. The terminology of 'take a dump' is using 'take' to be equivalent to 'have'. As in 'take a nap'. Maybe take is used to imply that you're doing it someplace else, but not here....thankfully.
